​@@themermaidandtheowl6573 If you haven't listened to the full Drömmar album *immediately* go do that. It's incomparably good. The first time I listened I actively tried not to pay attention to the lyrics on the new songs so I didn't get distracted and over think the translation. I just wanted to quiet my mind and feel the vibe. Needless to say that was an amazing idea. I think it made the feeling of the music so much more intense. (and it's already intense 😅) I wish l could have that first listen again.

Yeah, I have been wildly blasting all of his music on repeat, I’m just a little bit obsessed! 😂 I have to admit that I have begun learning Swedish which was a bit of an impulse move as a result of the beauty of the music. My best friend is learning as well though so it’s not too bad! I agree with you just immersing yourself in the music is a wonderful way to experience it. It’s a shame that I haven’t been able to find lyrics for any of the songs that aren’t singles, I’d desperately like to know what they’re about. It drives me mental that it’s probably gonna be ages before new music is released I can’t bear the wait lol. What are your favourite songs from Drömmar? Let’s compare taste!

​@@themermaidandtheowl6573 I randomly started listening to Swedish pop this past winter... which was perfect timing since Oscar started releasing new music shortly thereafter. It was so exciting anticipating every new release and now it is a little bittersweet. I know that is so selfish of me... and it goes without saying that my wish for more music or performances is not more important than his creative process or well being. Oscar's music is just so emotionally stirring I can't help but want to know more of it. I am *really* into music but I am very cynical and the sort of emotional connection I have to his work is so rare for me. (I trained to be a professional violinist so that is *quite* a sad truth😅) Sorger is beautiful, and I think it used to be my favorite, but now I don't know that I have one. Drömmar is a no skips album for me. Du ar allt jag vill ha is pure fire and it's so hard to find a meaningful happy uptempo song... so it really crushes it. Tunga steg is right up there too though for how well it captures feelings of longing but also because the musical phrasing is just so unique. It really pulls me in. It is such a good song to listen to when you want to feel sad and like, find something beautiful in that feeling. My favorite specific moment on the album though is the first verse of Se på oss nu- "I tusen bitar vi spruckit men did har läkt såren." There's a change in vocal tone there that is just breathtaking every f'ing time I hear it. I can't explain it but...wow. I am such a nerd... 😅. Lyrics for all the songs are online now if you google the song titles. There were not translations last I checked and I had to rely on google translate to double check my spotty Swedish comprehension.

@@megiburcl I'm very much a newbie compared to you then, I've only been listening to Swedish music for a month. Omar Rudberg and Klara & Jag are also great, Omar is just fantastic, so fun and also I speak Spanish so it's always great to actually understand what's going on! What other Swedish music do you like? I need recs! I feel like I had all my presents at once because when I started listening Drömmar was already out so I just worked my way through all of his music without really stopping and now I'm distraught that we have to wait yonks before anything new, although yeah, I obviously understand that music of this quality takes time. I would love to go to a concert of his, I reckon that live the music would have a whole new dimension. I kind of evidently don't live in Sweden though so, hopefully in the future. A professional violinist that's so cool, I played violin at school until I was 12 and I was truly truly absymal, you have my respect and awe. Yeah, it is visceral, really makes you feel. I think my faves are similar to yours Du är allt Jag vill ha is spectacular, it was my introduction to Oscar Enestad's music and I'm so glad, it makes me super happy, the candour of the love that it describes is wonderful, it enters into your heart! Yeah, to choose just one favourite would be absolute murder. Sorger is sublime, yeah, the imagery is so vivid, I adore it. The softly positive melancholy is gorgeous. Se på oss nu is poetic in a way that I love, my words are fleeing me but it feels like flying. Also nerds are awesome (a nerd speaking)! It was amazing to listen to the song thinking on what you had said, it added further enjoyment again. Fäglar sjunger is also pure dead brilliant, so sincere and sweet. 16 är is exultant it's on my party playlist and is super popular, it's an extravagant nostalgia that's beautiful and it's just a banger musically as well lol. I really enjoy seeing little motifs in songs, like everything like allting stannar, or just like emotions being so overwhelming that everything stops it's fabulous. Thanks for the lyrics thing I've found the lyrics for Tunga Steg at least (what a gorgeous song!), the others just don't come up, I guess maybe it's something to do with my country maybe. God I'm wittering on, it's really fun to chat about this though.
