Up current will get you more snags. But it is doable. The most important thing is to use the lightest jig possible
Thanks Nick sure appreciate you and Mason taking the time to produce content. See you on the water.
I fished West Bend Thursday 11/14 and Friday 11/15. Boat, not shore. The night sky before each day had a huge super moon. Thursday was very slow but managed to limit, but Friday, was a different story. Only a single bite the entire day, no fish. Thursday night I camped lakeside. I looked outside my tent at 1AM (actually early Friday morning now) and could not believe how lit up the lake looked. I thought this is definitely not going to help my Friday fishing and I was right. It was so bright at 1AM, I actually considered putting the boat in but then came to my senses and went back to sleep:)
i cannot hear you!
Ur not old enough to do this stuff you need a hip replacement first
How deep are you fishing and how fast is your current flow?
With jig and minnow , probably work great for soft plastic too ? What about jigg and worm? When do you like vertical presentations?
Dropping Knowlege
Nick just wondering. I am from South Dakota and I may be wrong but I was of the understanding that if you have a limit in the box that any other fish caught and landed in the boat is considered over your limit. Even if it is released.
No, you can catch and release as much as you wish. You can't cull, which means if I caught a bigger fish and took a smaller fish out of the livewell. Once it is in the box, it is yours, but as long as you immediately release it you can fish as much as you wish.
@ ok thanks for the interpretation of the law. Wasn’t sure
@@David-f5c6e you bet! Yep, catch and release you're good to go!
I like that coat there Mason!
Do you tie a floro leader?
Yes I do, 12 lb Berkley Vanish connected to a Spro Power Swivel
Hello Nick. I'm going to fish the West Bend area in 1 or 2 weeks. When there's a stretch of 2-3 days of good weather, I'll head out there. I've only fished the West Bend area a handful of times and didn't do all that well. I've mostly fished the Chamberlain area for years now. I'm wondering if you have any tips on fishing West Bend? Depth, drop offs, flats, etc. I'm guessing the water temps will be in the 40's when I get there. Francis Case was 53-54 last Friday.
You didn't mention that perch eggs are the commonest fish eggs to be transported by birds, that's how they spred to other waters. I have a shoal in my pond that came by that route.
My motor is broke down but I want to cross river to hunt on other side. Do you think the trolling motor would get me across in a small Jon boat?
Thank you for the report

Good report, thanks for sharing it
Im a Rapala man. But I have Flickr shads too.
great video Nick!
Great video, Nick Harrington. Looking forward to your next upload! I smashed that thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the awesome work! With the fall bite picking up, have you noticed any particular patterns in fish behavior as the water temperatures drop?

Good job getting one while on the camera
Hey buddy you need to talk a bit louder
Good to hear that they're biting further north. We were on Francis Case last weekend and the walleye just aren't interested. We were able to get some with jigging raps, but cranks and bottom bouncers produced very few

We make Saugeye in Ohio for stocking reservoirs. They do better than either parent species in our above ground ones. Especially in the flat west part of the state.
Thank you so much for the donation Nick! The breast cancer thrivers appreciate and love the fishing. Being outside and fishing is the perfect combination for women diagnosed with breast cancer!
Great stuff. New subscriber here. Keep up the great work and tight lines.
Awesome Nick!! Great video! I've been wanting to make a walleye fishing video for my channel!! I love watching your videos man, keep up the amazing job!! 💪🤝🎣🎣
Why do advertise a guide service if you don’t return calls… just wondering
Someone plz help me here are saugeyes bigger then walleye?
no world record sauger is 8 and change for walleye its over 22 lbs
@@Jigger2361 ok Thank you
When you pull lead at 2.5mph what do you base your depth? I use Suffix Advanced Leadcore and figure 5ft per color at 2.5! Is that close?
Thanks for the Update keep it up Nick!!!
Francis Case is getting fished out!
Thanks for your reports. Headed out to SD end of June for 4 days.
Shad Raps don't rattle, Shad Rap RS do
Thanks for explaining. I generally only cast for Walleye, don't like trolling nor do i have the gear for it. What time of the year is best to just cast for walleye out there?
i love the Shad rap, I also love the pole holder on your boat for my kids, Where did you buy them at?
Nice Job Nick!!!
What's the water temp?
Good honest report, good job
What is the water temp?
Was 44-45, dropped to 41-42. West Bend is about 50
@@nickharrington1656 I fish Lake Francis Case and our water temp has drop also. A week ago it was 45 and now it’s 40. Really screwed up the fishing!
Hey Nick, I am moving to Pierre soon, and I am very interested in your boat gear and everything you use. If you were willing to share some techniques as well on catching walleye. Thanks for any help that you can offer. Thanks Jim W
Looking forward in coming out there in Pierre. This May We are starting to move our furniture. Only one more year left. Appreciate all of the information on fishing you can give. Perhaps sometime we can cross paths.
we cannot hear you very well
❤ Great cause Nick! Love the reports from sw Minnesota!
Another good report
