The Real Monster in Godzilla (1954) and Shin Godzilla - In Depth Analysis
Great recap and analysis. They conjured a character that empathizes and pursues justice with such a deep backstory! But he never cheated on his wife because they never existed... it's a lot to wrap your mind around.
I believed the German Shepherd was one the dogs they used as they searched for Maria (like when police officers use German Shepherds to search for drugs and people) or it was a dog maria saw walking around the outside of the house as she lived there
As a fellow enjoyer of things ALIEN, I cannot stand Romulus in the slightest. It was being posted in its entirety here on TH-cam a week or so ago, giving me the opportunity to watch it for free, and even then I found it to be so awful that I was compelled to turn it off after less than five minutes. What a waste of creative potential.
I don't usually do this, but... FIRST!
Well done. Always up for an interesting take on The Shining
@laurenanderson61 Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
This went WAY better than my guest appearance from last year! Great job, man, and Happy Halloween! :D

“Midnight, the Stars and You” isn’t Classical music lol
Yeahhhhhh, I know. I meant to just say classic, but accidentally said classical instead lmao.
@@greenfilmsofficial fun fact: songwriters Harry M. Woods, Jimmy Campbell and Reg Connelly had also written “Try a Little Tenderness”, an instrumental version of which was used in the opening credits of Dr Strangelove

The bubbles are the Draags essence that travel to Fantastic Planet to reproduce (I’m still a little confused on that tbh)
what the fuck mans i can read it all at 2:40
Occult (2009) has the scariest soundtrack ive heard. its more experimental, eerie sounds that couldnt be made with an regular instrument and samples of human voices made into disharmonic, uncanny rythms that dont even give as little as a single identifyable syllable
Requiem for a Dream has the scariest soundtrack of a mainstream movie I think
eyes wide shut and zodiak both had songs that were playing in the background while i wasnt actually watching the movie and i was like wut dee folk is dat sheet?
Hey, everybody. I just wanted to clarify my comments about the "out of tune" note in this video. I have probably used the wrong terminology based on the comment I found in my research. It's at once jaunty and dark, and that's what I'm responding to in the song. The director himself says of the song: "I did think it could be scary if an absolutely ordinary person who you'd never peg to do so would, and in a single shot no less, suddenly commit murder. And then, if all went well, there'd be sustained-- even if I showed a complete nobody-- an air of tension that they could suddenly kill someone. That would be intriguing if all went well. And the very first example where I went for that is at the beginning. That scene where the music is jangling." I apologise for my clumsy language.
Thanks for this explanation. I really understand your position.
I am not hearing the note. All I hear is normal music. I am so confused.
Listen to the high notes of the piano.
Great video! It really helped me get a more in-depth view on this book.
@@brigand1 Thank you! Glad it could help!
Halloween is not the pinnacle of slasher movies at all halloween is a overrated movie that wasn't even that good and it wasn't even the first slasher movie of its kind. the texas chainsaw massacre came out before halloween so did black christmas besides im more of a jason fan
So what’s the deal with Amanda’s mom?
I really liked this weird movie. I guess I am weird hahaha

Wow no comments, I am a certified movie fanatic, and yes am already a King Hu fan. His stuff is head and shoulders above the factory produced Shaw Brothers movies, and yes there some of those I love as well, true it is a shame there's not more love out there for him. Thank god for boutique disc labels having been able to buy the Taiwan film institutes remastered Bluray's. If you rely on streaming these gems you'll never see these gems.
Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes is further proof that I’d still prefer having the planet run by monkeys than most present-day politicians.
Furiosa was definitely the best movie of 2024 right next to Dune part 2
11:55 Meant to say "It does look a bit weird in a couple shots here and there, but it's only really those few shots" instead of just "but it's only really those few shots". Whoops!
I discovered this book in middle school of 2018 and only 5 months ago I began to remember the book for how surreal yet detailed and beautiful the pictures illustrations and creatures in the book.yet couldn't remember the name and kept pondering and thinking about just how charming it was to.i kept on googling various things included from the story but just now minutes ago I can't describe how happy I am to finally discover this book again after all these years🤍
Brilliant job. Well done.

History time: La colonia Dignidad was instrumental during the decade of the fascist dictatorship that my country (Chile) suffered through. You see, back then if you were accused or suspected of conspiracy or of being a communist for any reason, the authorities would come to your house, at any hour of the day, take you and make you "disappear" One of the places they made you dissapear into was La Colonia Dignidad, where Schafer and his followers build subterranean bunkers and cells where they kept the detained accused of conspiring against dictator Pinochet and tortured for information, some until they died. You see, being a nazi, Schafer became fast friends with the "president" and since La colonia was facing some legal issues due to them practically expropiating the zone where the colony was funded from the actual local owners, so they made a deal, Schaffer would allow the colony to be a hidden detainment center, and their crimes would be legally overlooked. Hundreds died within La colonia, and they were all buried across the hills, valleys and lakes surrounding it, even to this day, theres still people missing whose bodies have never been recovered or recognized. La colonia was practically a closed off cult, an immigrant german community that quite barely knew any spanish, that under the guise of providing food, a school and free healthcare to the poor families of the zone they earned their trust to stay there. They were responsible for a lot of child kidnappings. They would just take kids and babies from poor families they helped and then don't let them see their parents again, they did the same with the families that were born inside the colony, kids were never allowed to be with their parents or even know they had parents at all, they were all raised as orphans basically and only allowed to be taken care of by the nurses there, "family" was a skewed concept inside the colony, and if anyone complained they were severely punished. Schafer had a preference for young boys, meanwhile he mistreated and humiliated the girls and women of the colony. Amongs Schafer's followers, if there was any sign of rebellion or attempts to escape, these would be punished and tortured with electroshock inside the hospital they had built, or beaten back into submission by the members of the colony. While the Colony was at it's peak it produced a number of short films showing the idyllic life inside it to clean their reputation, which is referenced in this film a number of times.
Omg he was a sadistic monster those poor children, & women it's barbaric what humans do to there own kind, this world is getting worse.
So if you have already come into contact with Polish cinema, I would be interested to know if you know Tadeusz Konwicki. In my eyes he was something like the polish Tarkovsky, only more feverish and with more turmoil. One of his movies are fully on youtube, unfortunately without subtitles. th-cam.com/video/SNRBWmllRu8/w-d-xo.html
I actually haven't heard of Tadeusz Konwicki! Seems like an interesting director though. I'll keep an eye out for his work!
