I want to congratulates the reporter for an extensive research on the topic. Children or youth being a vulnerable sector must be protected form cruelty, abused, discrimination and exploitation. It is great that we have a special government body that protects the rights of youth and their great contribution to the society. It also a great points that the State recognized the great contribution of the youth in the State.

NYC is a great organization for the younger generation, as explained by Mr. Abinal NYC focuses on the greater good of the youth, as growth development for youth, The Policy of the organization mentions that youth is the critical period of personal growth, The Mandates of the NYC, objectives, advocacy which focus on the programs about the growth of greater good of the said younger people.

The presentation properly articulated the essential feature of the agency. Honestly, NYC is one of the agencies that are less recognized in our country in terms of budget. If I will be given a chance, our government must a lot a substantial fund for NYC program development. As Maushi discussed we should inculcate to the children patriotism and nationalism while they are young, as the youth are the future of our country. We should start early, though NYC has intricate policy and projects if the government will not prioritize its implementation we may not attain or maximize children potentials. Thank you Maushi! Second, the importance of the National Youth Commission is crucial in giving voice and advocating for the youth, in Mr. Abinal’s words, “ang tinig ng kabataan.” It has long been acknowledged that the youth is the future of the motherland; as such, it is important for this sub-group of the population to be represented in policy- and lawmaking bodies. To become truly productive members of the FIlipino Society, the Filipino youth must receive all the help they need to embody the values of the Filipino for a Filipino nation that works for all most especially those who are disadvantaged. Lastly, the most interesting provision of RA 8044 is its definition of youth in Section 2, those who are aged fifteen (15) to thirty (30) years old. By explicitly defining who is covered by the Act, the national government and its sub-national agencies; and local governments have one frame of reference as to who their beneficiaries should be when designing and implementing laws, policies, and programs for the youth. Confusion creates chaos, chaos creates opportunities for corruption and political grandstanding. The clear definition of who is considered Filipino youth removes the confusion that may arise. This may lead to better chances that the programs created for the youth truly advance their needs and development. Reference RA No. 8044, Youth in Nationa-Building Act.

I admire the reporter for featuring the National Youth Commission as his chosen agency for this activity. The Commission not only focuses on the well-being and development of children but of the "youth," who are composed of those belonging to the age range of 15 to 30 years old, as defined under Republic Act No. 8044, otherwise known as the Youth in Nation Building Act. Thus, this agency expands its coverage by including those whose age are already beyond what we consider as "minors." This coverage makes the agency more inclusive and encourages more involvement among the "youths" who are considered to be the future leaders in our society.
