Hello neighbor. I own Lookout Bar South of You. I heard them Texas oil men was nice & went to see them. the one I met Told me he Aimed to Take my Little Island and I ain't been back around them. My name is Austin Tate Them holes around the Island was where My Dad used to hide whiskey from the revenuers. You found the Tree big enough to whether a storm in? That Island used to be like a Marty Stouffer video when Mr. Olendorf owned it. Oh yeah I have told the corp of engineers, TWRA & them Texas oil men that My Property went to the North side of that small dike that Dad Helped build back about 1928 or 1929 I think it was. Because of the corp's dike buildin Your Island has built up way over onto me. I told them they can't claim it. Now I'm gonna say May GOD Bless You & Yours! I've seen Eagles, Huge bobcats, Panthers, Big Hogs, 2 18 or 20 point Bucks running together & Friends have seen Bear on occasion.

It's incredible what you have accomplished with Island 34. I read about this endeavor a year or two ago and was blown away by your dedication to building a duck paradise. Watching the boys and grandpa hunt together brings it full circle. I've been fortunate to duck hunt for the last 40 years. My boys, 16 and 17, have been going with me since they were very young. To watch them grow in the sport and appreciate the shows we have seen from the pit mean more to me than any limit I have ever shot. Congrats on all your accomplishments. Looking forward to future content and the start of duck season tomorrow here in Southeast Missouri.

At what point does the government see that if they don’t take the hunters money and spend it on doing this at the management areas or start losing dollars to people getting out of hunting due to not enough birds…

Love the video! Point of clarification: Duck-use-days are classified as “the amount of ducks an acre can feed ~for one day~”, not ~per day~. An acre of unharvested rice can feed 29,000 ducks for one day, once. But not continually.

I volunteer and assist in a Non-Profit. "Hunters helping heroes" Would love to have a discussion to see if a relationship could be started.

Good two videos so far. I subscribed and am really looking forward to you getting more and more into the science of the why behind the habitat and the the habitat types. I think currently the state waterfowl managers are getting a bad rap for managing for moist soil but few public land hunters understand the why behind moist soil and even less how the money constraints on that side sort of dictate moist soil as the "better" play from a habitat/duck use to cost standpoint.

I live 10 minutes from where the Hatchie meets the Mississippi just above Island 35. So where is 34? Closer to Osceola?
