Introduction to the Philosophy of Mind
Just came upon your channel ... so few subs ... surely a function of the dismal state of the contemporary zeitgeist rather than your excellent content. I truly thank you for your thoughtful review of this rather esoteric material.
This was pretty funny to watch. It’s like repeating the same phrases in a loop to a point that may seem paradoxical
there is a real world for humans & the human mind & there is another world out there to be discovered understood and later meet and know Humans are living organism inside a lightbulb💡 they can't get out & after a certain altitude they cannot breathe, and they die a sort of ethereal sea above and a liquid sea below if you like all enclose 🔌 inside a lightbulb 🎬
Modality, field theory, are either technically rigorous logic, a sub-set of science, or empirical statistical probability. •science is rigor ( or a system of obtaining rigorous results ( or a body of rigorously obtained knowledge ( justified belief sufficient to accept a particular fact or take a particular action ) ) ), or the culture that accretes around them •logic is a sub-set of science - relationships which always replicate •bonus: math is a sub-set of logic dealing exclusively with relationships of quantity ( when you can divide something into equivalent ( not equal ) parts)
The metaphysics of race is a meaningless idea bc race is not a primary attribute of anything in the universe, it's a socio-biological distinction much further up the complexity and ineffability ladder than metaphysics.

And urine is the same color as islam’s golden age. Go figure.
More like a Could be golden age dampened by islamic doctrine and ultimately destroyed the legacy and culture of reasoning in that area.
Islamic age stood on the dead bodies of non inslamic people.
Thanks for creating such knowledgeable lecture. Subbed.

This golden age would be in a limited part of the world especially after the reformation and enlightenment of the rest of the world with the help of printing presses. Modernity and the improved knowledge it brings is confronting Islam presently and modernity will prevail else the world is in for a hell of a time.
Gulf countries are slowly modernizing its painfully slow and meek but its something , there is improvement but its better than being stuck in the past as they were after the ban of the printing press in islamic world back in the 1500s
@@Agro50 And it is that creed that is holding them back. Allowed to think for themselves rather than having their minds closed for them, how far might they go and what could be achieved.
Time is experienced, usually measured, change. It is one of the three physical dimensions along with space and scale.

Good video, people need to be reminded that knowledge is universal and doesn't belong to any one culture
There is not Islamic golden age the only thing is copy from other civilizations
If that is the case then there is no Christian/European golden age either.

I was seeking information about Themisonium in google, and this video was one of the results. So I relate to the greeks and filosofy. Themisonium, an ancient city nestled in Anatolia, beckons with its rich historical tapestry and captivating cultural legacy. Its timeless allure has captivated the attention of historians and archaeologists alike, drawing them into its fascinating web of connections with ancient civilizations.

There are eight principles: Duty to assist is the eighth principle. 1. Peoples are free and independent, and their freedom and independence are to be respected by other peoples. 2. Peoples are to observe treaties and undertakings. 3. Peoples are equal and are parties to the agreements that bind them. 4. Peoples are to observe a duty of non-intervention. 5. Peoples have the right of self-defense but no right to instigate war for reasons other than self-defense. 6. Peoples are to honor human rights. 7. Peoples are to observe certain specified restrictions in the conduct of war. 8. Peoples have a duty to assist other peoples living under unfavorable conditions that prevent their having a just or decent political and social regime.

When the discussion becomes philosophical, then it becomes as stupid BS as religion. Philosophical or religious world of thought has no place alongside science. Science should be kept away from questionable hypotheses and then only bring them to people's attention when the hypothesis has been shaped into a provable theory.

Disclaimer: there is very little "islam" in the "islamic golden age". Think "Holy Roman Empire".
This is very overly simplistic. Contributions from the Islamic world definitely give credit to the title "Islamic golden age"
@@thephilosophyacademy As simplistic as calling it islamic
@@thephilosophyacademy Actually, wait a second. I agree. The term is okay. Islamic Golden Age. What's very poignant is that during this "golden age" women were raped by their husbands, scientists were persecuted (only to be claimed by muslims centuries later because it helped dawah efforts), non-muslims were being routinely massacred, children were being killed for disobedience etc. I agree 100%
The idea that these things are limited to the Islamic world during the middle ages is incredibly naive. Although I suspect its more to do with general racism than anything else.
@@greyngreyer5 If the society based on Islamic law/rule and general principle then its islamic. Oversimplistic is better than overcomplexitic 😁 Holy roman empire, Holy Russian empire etc looks christian enough for me

Well I am very well versed in metaphysics, I find that Aristotle's ideologies in this specific philosophical logic .😅
Metaphysics has to be the most useless nonsense "philosophy" has ever produced.
Why do you think that?
@@thephilosophyacademy I've yet to see any practical application
@@khatack Does philosophy only get its value from practical application?
@@thephilosophyacademy yes, otherwise it's just self-important people inhaling their own farts and thinking they smell of roses.
So you're the same guy who makes lectures on law?
Yes!
Do the past and future exist ? First define "existence." Quantum mechanics says no. This is because what leads to the present reality could have come from multiple different past configurations. So the past is erased and you don't know and can never know what happened in the past. You only have a low resolution record of what happened. It doesn't exist because from the present you can't examine the past or future. If I add 2 + 3 and get 5. Now I have 5 in the present and what two numbers did this "5" come from added together. 1+4 or 2+3 or 3+4 or 4+1 ? I have lost 3/4 of the information that created "5."
This is highly empiricist, and there is no way to demonstrate the past has actually stopped existing. Every single discriminable point in time is present past and future of every other point, they all examine themselves and that's enough.

The winds of grace are always blowing but one needs to raise the sail
I look forward to the rest of this series. In the meantime, I will try to answer the question: I vote, "no". At first glance, it does not make sense to say that time passes. Time is a dimension, just like the three spatial dimensions. We speak of objects moving or passing along the three spatial dimensions, not the other way around, as if these dimensions passed by three dimensional objects that are otherwise stationary. By this logic, we should see time the same way. However, there is a huge caveat to this. According to Einstein's relativity theory, it is incorrect to state that one object is stationary and the other one is moving. Rather, any motion consists of objects moving relative to each other. Perhaps this is also true of objects moving relative to dimensions. If we follow this train of thought, we may determine that asking whether time moves or whether we move is a non question.
