Super cool stuff! Are you an engineer by trade? Dream build btw! Please don’t stop making content.
Yes, mechanical engineer, and thank you!
30 lbs!? That's wild!
@@nottherealjk yes sir!
How many laps can you get out of 6 gallons? Are you going to add a surge tank to combat any concerns of fuel starvation?
@@nottherealjk depends on the laps haha. But it should allow me to run for 20-30 min. The surge take is integrated into the radium system
Hi Brook. Could u explain about the air intake pipe a bit , the design looks interesting
Yes I can
Haha omfg the microfiber filtration. Please dyno again soon
@@haaake yeah...whoops
lol the man sabotaged himself
@@DavidHaroJr just wanted to give the other guys a chance... lol
That s2000 was running some towel power. That tune is going to have a crazy change with the air no longer blocked like that.
Power is for the lames

@@casey2053 lol, had to speed it up to keep it under a minute

So is it going to use a torque tube instead of a normal drive shaft? Never seen a Sadev in a S2K before. Good seeing you post again!
@@nottherealjk no torque tube. It will be similar to the new mustang GTD
I think that’s what he’s kind of insinuating. Sounds like you’ll just have a regular driveshaft going from the motor to the transaxle
Paddle-shifted S2000? Nice!
@@nickmotsarsky4382 yep paddle shifted
What method did you use to measure 3.5” of suspension travel? Would love to see a video of the front as well 😊
There is a scale on the long acre tool so you just jack it up in increments.
I love the content and the simulations. I am currently working on a video for stage rally rollcage designs based on FIA 253-8 but I'd like to run similar deformation testing with various designs like you did for your cage to illustrate the differences. Did you make your Solidworks model available or are the results of your simulations available to download somewhere?
I have emailed my excel sheet to a few people but that's a good idea. I will put it on my website as a free download. Thanks!
Nice video! One of the cons of tracking an S2000 is the cost of replacing an engine and limited avalability vs. a Miata powertrain for example. I would still rather be on track with the S2000. Driving on an S2000 on track and the backroads and just a special experience.
@@apolloandratti7922 yeah, the F series is expensive. That's why most are doing K which IMO is not quite as good but close.
Hi Brook…great videos…hope more will come….what does ooooosssshhh mean?
@@graceann335 hey thanks, ooossshhhhh is just how we used to greet each other at the bike shop I worked at in college. It's kind of a homage to those days.
@@brookhammerschmidt4464 cool…I have a stock black dragon…new to the channel…can’t wait to go through all the vids…informative and entertaining, thanks
@@graceann335 I haven't made one in a while. I need to. Some interesting stuff is happening
I realize you did this video came out several years ago. Any hind sights you can share? Would Tocos on the door X-brace help? Why not use the FIA bars, they seem to help? I'm starting to plan my cage SCCA/NASA and your video helps.
I am not sure about the tacos. I don't think much. FIA bars help but its also more weight and I was already happy with the crush performance without them. If I was going to add more weight I wanted it to also contribute to the overall chassis stiffness. Thats why I did the bars to the front strut towers. it improve the side impact and increased overall torsional. plust those bars all act as an anti-intrusion if the wheel were to be pushed into the cabin. If I were to do it over again I'd probably figure out how to do the V-Bar set up and keep the door bars the same.
Where’d you lose 600 lbs?
Ozempic ...
Love this car - but it needs a little bit of boost :)
Lol, next car will have all the boost
NSX is not a good option, trust me.
Why? Just cost and part availability?
@@brookhammerschmidt4464 Yes. I am in the process of modding my NA1. Verry Expensive! + Months of wait time for Parts. Can't imagine the cost of racing one!
I loved the format of this video. I owned an S2000 for 5 years and still thought this was an informative video with practical points on all sides. A couple questions if you could share more? 1. How tall are you and is that a limit for tracking it or can the platform accommodate tall drivers with the right seat choice? 2. Did you consider safety as a con? It is a very small car after all. If I were to track it, I’d have a rear roll bar and not a cage.
Are you still selling this shift knob?
Yep, Splinmota.com!
Just ordered!@@brookhammerschmidt4464
Currently debating this for my current setup. How have they been holding up?
They are holding up fine. I think any aftermarket mirror is going to be a downgrade in functionality but they work well enough.
@@brookhammerschmidt4464 I'm more concerned about the quality, the fitment, and the weight savings.
I like what you're doing with this S2000!
What’s different on the ap2 that makes it less prone to bump steer?
AP2 has different rear suspension geometry. Subframe and upper control arms are different.
❤ It. Thanks for posting.
Perfect!
Whats the absolute best oil you recommend for these cars?
I'd stick to 10w30 or 5/10w40. And motul competition oil seems to be the most legit I have found.
@@brookhammerschmidt4464 I’ve been using Amsoil 5w-30 Is it worth switching over to motul?
Thanks for the video.. excellent. can you tell me which dry sump from Dailey you are using..I am doing a custom design so I am just looking for the specs. 3 stage or 4? Pressure and vacuum are you shooting for. My build target is 280 hp NA. Thank you
262 on an na? Is that board and stroked? What the hell did you do because I want to copy you lol. Edit: oh, you have itbs didn’t see that on the Dino lol
Looking forwards to updates on this!
There are updates finally!
A lot of Supras out there.
Hi from New Zealand. Great video. Thanks heaps.
Kiwi comment!
Hey I love the coolant setup iv had so many problems trying to keep the motor cool with the turbo set up I have. Where can I find the billet adapters you made? I wanna run this set up Thankz for the content. And one more thing can you make another video on how you ran power from your starter because my car doesn’t wanna turn back on after the motor gets hot with the hole turbo system Thankz again.
THe custom adapters were one offs but you could probably have fabricator make you some.
Thanks for the video. I don’t know if you mentioned this before, what’s the final drive ratio did you go with, s2000?
4.30
Excellent video and discussion, enjoyed it . ../I'm building an S2k F20C1 to fit into an Triumph GT6, going to be fun and fast......I've some front lock-dn that i'm working on, old British iron was built for 135bhp at best....going to get interesting, but fun ...for a '67 GT6.......Turbo or no??
Why not have both an S2000 and a C6Z... 😅
That would just be so much maintenance time trying to keep new balances clean all the time. Hahaha
@brookhammerschmidt4464 thats why i have several pairs of NB's 🤣
Thanks for the demonstration! Planning on building a 4B11T with a dry sump and this video did a good job of providing insight into the system. I've heard that if the vehicle is sits for a couple days that priming of the dry sump is required. Is this something that you go through the trouble of doing or is it application/vehicle specific?
Thanks! I don't think that is necessary but its nice to be able to prime it. I do it after every oil change but not every start. but yeah if it sits for for a while, why not. It's easy to do.
Subbed. Have an S2K of my own that I’m starting to build track mods for, the underside aero is something I’m very interested in
Great video! The mold is gorgeous
Thanks!
I❤ this build
Agreed brother. Yeah my 2005 s2k is completely stock with 23K miles on her. Actually taking it to track next month here in NJ. All gonna do is slap on some fresh honda brakes and change oil. I really love using penzoil ultra 10W 30. Ran her 2 years back and she didn't burn anything. So much fun. Wow 90 in a turn I was doing about 70 il try and push it this time around
Good stuff
The vw transaxel is 90ish. What the heck is lighter than that. You have me super curious

best for na,on track! sc or tubor will overheat😅
What transmission you going to be running with? Every little bit helps with that weight distribution!
Sadev SLR75-14!
Awesomeness!!! So badass. Easily top s2000 content for me. This the epitome of an s2000 - hi-reving NA with ITBs. More content please, and add telemetry overlay if you can.
Was thinking the same thing about telemetry. Going in March.
I want to meet you in person if you come to road of Atlanta!
I doubt I will be making that one unfortunately. But who knows!
Great to meet you out there, Brook. Matt here with the black Supra. See you in the Midwest soon!
