By hot I mean temperature and technique. While not my fastest lap due to the heat, I feel I maximized the cornering ability given the greasy surface. First time out at Roebling Road Raceway. Fun track for light cars with moderate to high downforce and grippy tires. Took the win both days in TT5 class, and finished the day off 7th overall out of 40 cars. Traffic meant only a handle of clean laps all weekend, so happy with what I could get. First time out at Barber with no practice. I was 0.008 outside of the podium before this session and with only one attempt left, I pieced together what I could with the limited practice I got. Nice lap dude. The lift in T9 cost you 18's for sure. See you out at Barber in November!
Nice lap, thanks for the lesson.
OMG shaky cam 🤢
Thanks! Trying out FIRM for the first time tomorrow and seeing this line is really helpful Also, nice flippin’ lap
Have fun out there!
@@neildesai21 Thanks, I definitely did! 1:32.4 on a stock BRZ :)
How are you liking the Giken LSD? What rates are your MCS and did you do a roll center correction kit?
I think the OSGiken makes maintaining exit rotation easier. 500 lbs springs all around. I use the spl front arms and tie rods for bumpsteer and roll center adjustment
I prefer this layout over the other way. 100X more!
I GO TO THE GYM WITH THIS GUY!!! MONSTER!
How you doing buddy!
NICE I grew up not very far from that track and was there for the first few years they ran Indy there. I live in GA now but I miss homestead speedway! Awesome to see a twin out there tear it up. Great drive man!
Yeah I was genuinely surprised. The track was more fun than it looks on paper!
Nice!
Thanks!
What class do you run in?
TT5 so base of 14.5 lbs per 1 hp
@@neildesai21 looks and sounds like a very fun racecar. 🤙
@@ShiftyIntentionsshe gets the job done!
Nice driving bro! I think I'm finally ready to take sim seriously lol. Looking into getting coaching
I’m here if you need me!
Cool bro 😎
Sir, I don't know why you're lifting at T10 😁
Me neither 😂
good shit
Reverse looks faster. Moving 👏
It’s a tad bit slower, since no exit curbs to rely on. T4 feels “easier” and the esses are easy to just roll speed through
@@neildesai21good call out.
Nice driving as always bro!
Great run! How do you like the HRI tune? I ended up scoring about 90% ethanol up in lake wales 😊
Love it, unfortunately James no longer tunes cars but he was the best in my opinion. Now if I had to tune, I would go with Zach at Counterspace garage.
Very nice build.
Thank you!
Damn your car flies in the corners
Combination of light weight, moderate aero, and good tires!
This guy fast! Congrats man!
Hey, that's me in the front! 😄 Great driving Neil!
Yessss!
Sick lap! Grats on the PB/record
love these videos, it would be cool to see a foot cam.
I’ll work on that!
are you on stock struts and springs? i thought you would be using coils.
I am on MCS 2WNR coils. Although at a track like this stock dampers wouldn’t be terrible.
This guy fast 🙌
Shake and bake like ricky bobby
Dope !!! Hope to see this car at the firm / Sebring one day !
Yeah man I will be at 8/6 day at FIRM and 8/19-20 at Sebring.
That's amazing, love the exhaust. I've got to install my IRP shifter soon!
Wondering if you know your rebound and compression clicks on this particular day? What are your spring rates?
This is a guess but I know I am close to factory recommendation. I don’t really deviate much from there so always just +\- 2 clicks from there.
F: 8 clicks R - 4 clicks C R: 9 clicks R - 4 clicks C 500 lb/in springs all around.
Nice!
No rear bar? OEM is so tiny.
My main springs are fairly stiff. Ride control seems well balanced as is. I am of the belief you want to run the softest spring combination possible for higher mechanical grip.
@@neildesai21 The car looks great indeed. I'm under the impression that with a square tire setup, you would want the load to be split more equally with similar sway bars front/back. I replaced both bars and the rear got increased more then the front, the rear can take it, to me slight oversteer is better then slight understeer. Then again there are many adjustments you might have done to change the balance. Try out an adjustable rear bar!
@@Iseenoobpeoples the change would also be dependent on weight balance of the car. Everything behind the camera is deleted for me. So the effective bar to mass ratio is higher in rear than front for my case.
Car sound is sufficient. Soundtrack on top of that is annoying.
Nice Subawu
You’re driving the wheels off that car. Awesome driving. I’m running these tires on my mostly stock 370Z Nismo. Amazing tire. Maybe not as long lasting as I hoped, but I dropped a couple 2:27’s. I think I can get down to 2:25.
I would say the RE71RS will last much better than the previous version did. Only time will tell though!
Hi, what cam mount do you use?
I use a go pro sticky mount on my harness bar with a 3” riser to get the camera to peep out of the windshield better.
@@neildesai21 would you like this vertical pole solution as shown in my videos? th-cam.com/video/7LSEi4CS3Ac/w-d-xo.html
What is the red light on the dash by the gear indicator?
That is a shift light to give you a heads up to upshift. It’s enabled when the car has TCS off.
Excellent driving! Can I just ask if you engaged third gear at all in the 4 to 2 gear downshift at the 1:00 mark? (I am new to track driving :D)
Thank you. I did not clutch out this particular time to truly engage 3rd and get any engine braking. To be honest I was a little late to the braking zone due to the unexpected slide after the big bump. Had the slide not happened, I would have clutched out and done two full downshifts to get some engine braking in.
@@neildesai21 any idea if it happened to me and I downshift straight from 4 to 2, would it cause any damage at all?
@@lojts No damage as long as when you are releasing clutch, the car is at a speed within the rev range of second gear. I know quite a few people who do this. I prefer not to so I can make crisp, clean throttle blips for rev matching (this was a bad example of that lol).
Love how planted your car is, what spring rates are you running?
I have 9K swift springs F/R. Without aero I would run 8/8 personally
Your friend trusts you a lot.
I did build this car for him and I am his driving coach so I’d hope to get a few laps in!
Nice lap bro
Thanks ✌
Nice driving. Are you doing the heel-toe during downshifts or is the car rev matching for you?
Thank you. I am using an auto blip feature of my tune. It's not as good as the OEM ones from GM/Porsche though, so I need to clutch in for each succesive downshift as it doesn't account for what gear I am going into. The 86's pedals are so well placed I can generally achieve the same results on my own but in places like T7 this helps a lot.
Sounds like you went with the gentler lift in T4 :D
I'm still not the man you are through there but next time I will experiment with a brush brake while still on full power. It's so hard to scrub like 3 mph lol.
Is this Laguna Seca?
No, I wish. Florida international rally and motorsports park.
What's to criticize? That's beautiful pro level driving. I love how you keep your hands on the wheel except to shift. I have same IRP shifter.
I appreciate the kind words. Car easily has a low 1:18 in it. I feel exit of the banked left turn was not optimized and I overslowed for the fast right by a few mph.
@@neildesai21 Don't know the track but it looked like you hit most of your marks! I'm really enjoying my Gen2 BRZ! I'm 76, so when I get near a podium time I'm very pleased.
@@escargod the power of the Gen 2 is much better. If you miss a few mph at apex, you at least have torque to pull yourself out. Feel free to send me video at your home track. Would be more than happy to analyze your technique.
Nice lap!
Thank you!
