Love this. One of my favorites of all time, but watching a video is like watching watching a concert on TV, good, just not the same.
Saw this live my 8th grade year now I’m a senior auditioning for them this year
saw this show my freshman year at soaring sounds :)

1st in horns, great music. I've never gone to a drum and horns show to see props, or to see how much of the field is cut off by those props.
Is it me or was there more choreography than actual horn playing. I loved the show. Im just saying.

This clip is why this show lost. They just do not move. Like ever. The props are cool but visual is still almost half your score in dci and a lot of that is marching.

@@Ace_v120 they move a LOT more than coats. It’s not even comparable you can go through and count the number of sets they’re moving vs not. I bet BD has 30% more.

I wouldn't say that, BD naturally wins by it's visual. Meaning when they do drill, they hit it spot on. I don't think I've seen BD win by it's music or general. The same logic would have to be applied to 2016 in comparison. Then you would have to apply the same logic to 2017. I say this because in 2017, BD didn't do as much drill and did a lot more standing but still won because of their visual. Bluecoats in 2016 did a lot of standing but they won because of visual. Where as Bluecoats in 2017 did a lot more drill but got 6th place. Perfection of drill is probably going to win.

It was my favorite show that year. Honestly the only one of the top corps that actually sounded like a real drum corps show

Crown literally came out of nowhere with how clean this show was in finals, it's insane, and I'm not saying it wasn't clean before, but this is just insane.
This show is why I’m a Beatles fan
Musically this was the best show of any of the corps that night, 1st in brass and 4th percussion, which considering their history in percussion that is one hell of a showing. They were only missing the visual component of the show. This corps is woefully underrated it’s criminal.
Ehh I wouldn't say underrated, at least by the public, it definitely gets the attention it deserves. I agree too their percussion was absolutely stellar this year, honestly probably my favorite line of 2019

the drill was at least the second best of any show that year just sucks it was so underscored. it was a lot ballsier than the top band that year and definitely more ballsy than SCV. Devils didn't deserve 1st and this show deserved second
@@kayscritic Actually devils did deserve first. No matter how much better Bloo's show was, Devs had the better execution and that's really what matters

Mm a new angle on this. Definitely my second favorite show. Metamorph is still number one. I see a lot of people commenting on them running around... Honestly, as a marcher, I can say that running around "frantically" is quite harder than just marching. These lads are roll stepping and running at the same time, which takes SO much more effort and precision to not trip and fall on your face. Not only that, these lads are hitting their forms perfectly while doing all this running around, as well as staying in perfect step. Check out Metamorph for example, even the victory run. I'm pretty sure their instructors just told them to go crazy and have fun with it. The Blue Devils, they do just that and more. Insane talent from each and every individual in the corps. Love 'em.

It’s no longer about the marching or the music it’s all about theatrics, props, and costumes. That’s why they’re underrated.
Joseph Santana you are correct. This show would have won if it were in the 2000s or even early 2010s. After 2016 though the visuals, props and stuff, really took over drum corps and not everytime for the better. It’s good to see Crown running around the field like chickens with their heads cut off triple tonguing everything again. What made them so exciting earlier in the decade was their difficult drill as well as their brass. I hope they continue to buck this trend we’ve seen since 2016.
As much as everyone loves bluecoats in 2016 I’ll always say that that shit ruin drum corps it set the bar for everything we see now
Drum Corps Central I have always thought that Relentless was the better show that used the props in a better way than what Bloo did. If BD didn’t play spoiler and it came down to Bloo and Crown, Crown would have won. They did take 3 of the 5 captions after all.

Ghost light was visually fantastic. Did it deserve a near perfect score? Maybe. Perfect score in percussion? Not sure. But even with those scores they still only beat Bloo by .082. So that’s a testament to this show right here.
nah perfect score percussion goes to scv but yeah this show was awesome. just sucks how some bluecoats fans can’t accept the close second and just anticipate next year for possible redemption

Thank you for not saying bd did not deserve the win like everyone else. Bloo did amazing but I can tell how they didn’t get first just by watching both. Sorry this really aggravates me sometimes because so many ppl say it and I’m sure you can tell now that my favorite drum corps is bd too 😅
