😂 I try to make things easy for my clients! When we got ours my husband put it up & dismantled it really easily, but my first day at the dog show I really struggled as he wasn't there! Yes, it works on all sizes of dogs. There is a large & a small head in the Starter Kit. You'd start gradually, maybe twice a day, getting the dog used to it. It makes no sound & doesn't vibrate. As well as removing plaque, it kills the bacteria in their mouths, that otherwise they swallow - this leads to many of the liver, kidney & heart problems our dogs suffer from in later life..... unsurprisingly! I understand your frustration. When I purchased mine, I too was unsure how to work it & what should be happening. That's why when I decided to offer this product to my K9 CleanCoats dog coat clients I drew up a set of my own detailed instructions! There should be no vibration.

The stubborn stuff will need a scrape. There is an Emmipet eraser tool for doing just that. It has a soft emery board type tip, but you must use it carefully away from the gumline. I recommend using the Orozyme Dental Gel - it was designed to help loosen stubborn tartar. You use that EVERY bedtime, along the upper gumline above the affected teeth. You use the brush on both the outsides/insides of the teeth & the gums..... No time in there is wasted!

@@k9cleancoats198 when we first started with emmi pet I thought ours was faulty.... :D no vibration and no sound. We have a lurcher who is not a puppy anymore and like you, we didnt want to put him through vet treatment again. We are slowly teaching him to love his new toothbrush. Taking it easy and slowly :-)

Rae, they will not much enjoy being left at the vets for the day to have a GA & a descale either, so this time they do not get an option! How many "options" does your boss give you? Shut one out of the room so the one on the table has your undivided attention & they'll soon realise they are not moving until this daily routine has been observed. Don't give in before you really get started, I'd hate either of your girls to have to go through what Toto did last year when he got the bowl infection after he'd had the extractions. xx

@@k9cleancoats198 I agree, putting your dog under general anaesthetic is far worse then teaching your dog to let you clean their teeth in comforts of your home. Bear in mind this dog here has been doing this for 3 weeks! Give yourself 3 weeks of daily practice and see what happens. Mine lets me hold the brush on the big teeth for 30sec for now, but the whole thing must be kept short, up to 2 min atm I would say. BUT I spent over a year teaching my dog walking on a lead, another 2-3 establishing a good recall, so I WILL teach him to let me clean his teeth. It will take time and that's ok. I back off when I see he s had enough. I think there is no point in making your dog scared or stressed and resenting the brush. Why would you do this to your dpg who loves you and trusts you? I may be a softie, but I will give my dog and myself time to get used to this new routine. Humans brush their teeth twice a day for most of their lives, dogs DON'T! It s not normal for them.
