    Feel the same way about Thoth/RWS. As I’ve started learning to read tarot I’ve found I often feel RWS scenery to be more restrictive in meaning whereas the symbolism in Thoth leads down many rabbit holes that open and expand and give deeper meaning. These cards are beautiful, thanks for sharing your thoughts and the gorgeous imagery ❤

    • @tyanasaurushex
      @tyanasaurushex 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I totally get what you mean. I think I have that same problem sometimes because when I do a reading with an RWS deck the images of the cards can make the reading feel disjointed because the combined imagery doesn't add up. I think I might have to look into a good pip deck for RWS because in general no matter what system I'm starting to prefer pips for the minors. Thank you for watching! 🤍

      Sure! I got some of this information from Wikipedia and Galician Wikipedia as well as some Galician destination websites that explain the folklore or myths tied to a location or site. There were some other websites I came across for a few cards because neither Wikipedia nor the destination websites had any information I could use, but I don't remember them. I do remember using a news article for the Maria Castana card. Hope this helps! 😊

      You have a point. Although people can learn different systems, ultimately there's going to be a system you end up sticking to. I'll have to eventually choose between RWS and Thoth.

    Hi Tyana. I have a very similar reaction to Thoth decks as you mentioned here. I’m very drawn to the art style and I’m very curious about that system, but I am committed to mastering the RWS system first. This may not be a popular thing to say, but it seems easier to me. Maybe I would feel differently if I had started with Thoth. I have heard other people say that. But I do think it requires more reading and research. Anyway, the artwork in this deck is gorgeous! Thank you for sharing!

    • @tyanasaurushex
      @tyanasaurushex 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thoth definitely requires more effort to learn than RWS because the esotericism is much more prominent. RWS is also esoteric but it's more discrete. I think it's easier to learn RWS because you don't really need to have esoteric knowledge in order to read it which I think makes it more accessible to people and easier to understand. Master whatever you feel comfortable with! Thank you so much for watching! 🤍

    I think I’m weird, lol! I like far fewer styles of tarot deck than most people. Bohemian Gothic, Terra Volatile, Tarot of Delphi, Ritual Tarot etc, none of them do anything for me. I’ve only been reading tarot for about 18 months so I only have about 25 decks to choose from. My favourites are…Oak, Ash and Thorn, Ink Witch Tarot 2nd edition, Cozy Witch Tarot, Creatures Tarot and Fifth Spirit Tarot

    • @tyanasaurushex
      @tyanasaurushex 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No you’re not weird at all! Everyone has different preferences. Nobody is obligated to like a specific deck or a specific type of deck just because most people like it. For example, many people love and praise the oak ash and thorn tarot or the other decks those creators make but I don’t really like them because they don’t suit my personal preferences and that’s fine. :)

    I don’t think there’s anything weird about your initial reaction to the RWS system. One of the very first decks I bought was the Mary El Tarot, which does not adhere to the standard RWS meanings. But the artwork and the guidebook were so powerful for me, that’s how I started reading tarot. I did start working with RWS daily about two years ago. And about the Tildwick tarot, I love when you said “it’s like that popular girl at school who is way too pretty and so you assume she’s mean“. That was a great analogy IMO! I laughed so hard when you said you wanted the terra volatile buried with you in your casket. Love that! Great video!

I also use Oracle as a theme for my reading, but I only pull 3 cards, not 6. I have not gotten to the point yet where I use 2 different tarot decks in a reading. I cannot help myself & while I’m going to really try to curb my purchases for a little while, they really do make me happy, I value them all as incredibly resonate tools packed full of wisdom & enlightenment. Forget bags for me, even shoes, I’ll take decks instead, lol. There’s just so many incredible creators who make incredible decks. Is it odd that I just like knowing there’s always a deck heading my way? Lol. We purchased a good bit of the same decks around the same time. As always, very enjoyable video & a nice juicy haul!

      Same! I haven’t really been purchasing much else besides decks. It’s something I really enjoy and makes me happy! It’s not odd at all, I feel the same way haha. And thank you, glad you enjoyed the video!

    Loved this video! Great deck selections. Funny story about Ritual Tarot. I really resisted purchasing because I wanted to be that girl who didn’t want to like and work with something so highly recommended, favorited, coveted, and because I think a part of me that tried resisting used the excuse of “how good can this really be, is it overhyped?” Well, I decided to purchase a few other decks first was voyager, then Jumbledance, then I got Telezma (all fantastic decks btw) and then I’m pretty sure you know what came next, lol. I really resisted for months, questioning others even in a damn Reddit about it (99 percent recommended.) So alas, I became that girl and I am so happy I did because ritual tarot really is truly remarkable. Profound, raw, it absolutely deserves the praises and accolades. However, I now have four decks (which isn’t a bad thing) but I just find it amusing how my brain works and I’m not wanting to also shell out for the deck (even though Telezma was expensive too) I ended up shelling out more money and still in the end purchased ritual, lol. Tarot of mystical moments is a tough cookie to crack. I have a good handful of decks that aren’t dishing out wisdom and guidance without effort on my part. I feel certain decks like the Mary-el, Barbara Walker Tarot, faeries oracle, ritual tarot even, and a few others require a good bit of deep diving, romancing, putting in effort on my part to show my dedication and even respect (if that makes sense.) Some decks I can read with immediately and others need more wining and dining, which is fine. I also feel the bohemian gothic tarot is a bit of a humble brag, lol. I love that tarot and am really happy I was able to purchase. Did you preorder the Victorian romantic tarot? Anywho, I’ll shut it..great video!

      Honestly, I think that’s why it’s better to get the deck you actually want instead of buying other decks that might be “similar”, because I feel like it’s only going to make you want the deck even more and you end up spending more. 🤣 Right now I’m like that with the Marea Tarot. It’s really pricey but I’m thinking that I should eventually get that one instead of getting a different deck to try and “fill that void” because I know I will get it eventually LOL. Yes you’re right, the Ritual Tarot is a lot more intuitive. And yes, I did preorder the Victorian Romantic! 😊

    Hi Tyana. I have seen several other people do flip throughs of this deck, but never been interested. Until today. For some reason while watching this video, I felt so drawn to this deck. I think I had an initial prejudice of it because it’s black and white, but I definitely see the power and beauty in it now. Thank you for this thorough walk-through!

      Hello! I was also going to pass on this deck for being black and white, but I’m glad I didn’t. It is very powerful and beautiful! And you’re very welcome, ’m glad you enjoyed this. 😊

      Hi again Tyana. I just wanted to come back a month later and let you know that I finally purchased the circle of doors tarot and I received it last week. And I have to tell you that when I held it in my hands and started looking through it, I literally started crying. Which rarely ever happens with a deck. There’s something so deep and magical about this deck. Everything about it. From the card stock to the smell of the cards, to the images, and then the guidebook! Since you are the person who really inspired me, I wanted to let you know that I am so happy that I got it. I could see this becoming my soul deck.

    Death doula oracle is truly such a profound and impactful deck. I cannot recommend it enough nor sing its praises near enough. I have had dream dust shamanic tarot on my radar (and Etsy cart)since last year. I love abstract art and I have a few decks in my collection but mostly oracles, so I may have to rectify that, even it out a bit more, it’s only fair right? 😆 I have roots & wings pocket edition and inside the pouch there’s a freebie full sized card and the finish is so nice that I’m tempted to purchase that one. I actually just started working with the gentle tarot and it’s wonderful. Really fantastic decks & great video! Glad I found your channel!

      Now that I have Death Doula, I totally agree! This deck definitely deserves its praise. For me it definitely entered my life at the right time, and I'm glad it did because I don't think I would have appreciated it as much if I got it sooner. One more deck couldn't hurt 😂why are we all like this with decks LOL ☠

    i love wild lands! i had seen her other two indie decks that came before it and i'm so happy this is the edition that went mass market. i feel she made improvements from the former editions with the mass market version. it also resonates so closely to my background, like the countries she chose to photograph and source from, i just adore it. i haven't used it for predictive readings yet but i'll try it now that you had a good experience with that 😊 YAY for aquamaree! it feels like a diary, i love it so much. the shipping debacle would have sent me ngl LOL but a happy ending at least! ❤️ thanks for sharing all your cool decks, you have great taste ✨

    Hi Tyana. I am all about abstract artwork as well. I loved the uncertain oracle. First time I’ve seen that one. As well the dream dust Shamanic tarot! I have never seen that before and it is right up my alley. And I love the larger size cards. It drives me crazy when I see beautiful artwork on small cards. How’s the guidebook? I am a guidebook person. The Margarete Peterson is one of my favorite decks. I actually do not mind the borders, but I can see how that would be a personal preference. She wrote poems for each of the major arcana, which I absolutely love! Love the wildlands tarot! It’s a unique deck in my collection. I use it often. Cool story about the Death Doula Oracle. That deck has never called to me, but I love how it came into your collection. Thanks for sharing!

      I can give an example of a guidebook description of a card! For the Initiation (Death) card it says: "There are many initiations or little deaths that you will experience throughout life. You may be going through what shamans call 'a dark night of the soul,' where a period of illness or darkness leads to healing or light. A time of transition, transformation, and change. A caterpillar turning into a butterfly or a snake shedding its skin. You are being reborn. Death is the ultimate initiation. It is when the soul leaves the physical body and transitions into the next realm. Accept the death of the old, accompanied by an increase in self-awareness and potential. It is an important time of letting go." And then there are some keywords underneath the paragraph. Hope this helps!

    I recently got the Death Doula oracle during a super big transition in my life - deciding to go no contact with my parents after years of trying to make it work, and simultaneously starting to write a novel I've been creatively called to work on. So, I would say this oracle has played a big part in helping me navigate those life-changing decisions and the readings I got with it have been very insightful and profound.

      Yeah! That's exactly how I feel just after doing a few readings, it's incredibly profound and gets you to understand your true feelings. I'm sorry about your parents, I hope you can find peace. I also wish you luck on your novel!

    TdM is an older version of tarot and there it is switched. This deck is based on TdM too. But I've just started my TdM studies so don't know why yet it's different in RWS.

    • @neteszti
      @neteszti หลายเดือนก่อน

      The fool is not in the Majors, it's completely outside of the story unfolding from 1-21, it is the card with no number. Also Maria /Castańa/ has chestnut in her name and I think it's chestnuts in her lap not rocks. It is similar in Italian that gave me an inkling. Sorry for spamming your comment section…😅

    • @tyanasaurushex
      @tyanasaurushex หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for clarifying about the chestnuts in her lap! They’re quite dark in the card so i assumed they were stones. TdM is supposed to be a pip styled deck whereas RWS is scenic. Also I included the Fool in here because it’s typically the first card when you take the deck out of the box.

      I have always enjoyed solving the mystery where Jonasa's decks are constructed. From the first one, she let's us figure out what we see and how to use it. I will watch your study, even though I find the decks easy to work with right out of the box. Thank you for your work, it makes my life easier! 😅

    Hi! Jonasa has some card descriptions on her Insta but it is pretty sparse. This is brilliant! For me the minors seem very challenging, with some cards I just do not know how to fit the tarot and the legend/imagery together. This helps/will help immensely. Thx!

      You’re right, she very loosely explained a few of the cards on her insta and this deck is definitely quite challenging which is why i wanted to explain possible interpretations for the cards. I’m glad you find this helpful! 😁
