This is a question we get often. Space is limited in the woods. There’s no room to turn around 50 feet of Log truck and trailer. By putting them together in what’s called a piggyback, you’re able to turn around and back up to the loader with relative ease.

Old Growth Tree Removal
Just because a tree is big doesn’t mean it’s old growth
So made a parade so no one protest cutting down the forest. Very clever
Not everyone protests salvaging dead and dying trees from areas that need replanted with growing crops.

How long are they maintained in water? I always thing of wood rot in old damp houses , but I didn’t know they were stored like this
After they go through the drying process water reintroduction is bad. Typically mills don’t want to leave them in water more than 2 months. It won’t hurt them at all to be a bit longer.

There is. And maybe the ones going by at the time seem fast but we rarely saw cars going too fast

Fir logs will check. Pine logs will blue and both will lose integrity of fiber if they dry out.
