Wu Tai Chi is the second most popular in the world. The movements are light, soft and defusing (energy moves from one part of the body to another part or beyond the body to an opponent) ; compact yet stretch the body. The other two unique features are the parallel footwork and obliquely centered body. When we practice Wu Tai Chi, the feet are parallel in most movements. The body is upright duri...

Seldom have I seen a bad style done so well but your body is too rigid to be relying on internal power, I see localized external power that cannot transmit through the body smoothly because of overall tension. By relaxing and unifying the sense of the body with you intent the internal smoothness will come and you will be both very soft and able to strike more forcefully -> th-cam.com/video/fPIC-ofqb68/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7slhV2u-avbEeX0r
I have practiced/seen Cheng baguazhang from Gao Kexing, Cheng Youlong and Li Wenbiao lines in Beijing. This form is similar for the 1st 3 palms. After that it is not similar at all. This practice method is closer to Xingyi. Calling it "original eight palms " seems a stretch.

I practice TaeKwonDo with a Korean instructor. He studied soft style when his instructor went to America. When I started TKD and for many years, he used that stance to kick my ass time and time again.for a long, long, time. I eventually learned the basics of that stance and now I rarely get hit!
I live in Buffalo and want to learn.

Hey i am a lover of Baguazhang but i can't find anyone showing the applications of these techniques can you please do a video of applying all of these techniques in combat?
I've found many. Try looking up Bagua Zhang or just simply Bagua, and then change the length duration in the filter section to over 20 minutes. A good one I've found is uploaded by the changing Singing Sihing. :) However, the applications are not only for combat, which can be very specific, it's like a lower level of understanding of the movements the art provides you with. In bagua, you use your palm, but turning it into a fist can be helpful for combat, and as you probably know, there are many different types of fist, and changing it, determines the action. You could be striking, or using weapon, or changing fists. All depends on you. But at it's core, it's more like understanding your body, movement, motion, progressions, and the cyclical/circular reality of movement. So it's good to know yourself, and be able to comprehend it as well.
Inside, outside, within, without, above, below, broken, whole, etc.

Have they already created another sport routine?
what do you mean?
@@junfengwushu5659 In this modern world people tend to change originality and authenticity of old routines, mostly for sport purposes, like the one we see here, to my opinion.

ni hao this is perfect my friend. I LOVE YOU ..THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO MAN. SI FU
More important is to show actual fencing with it.....forms are not the end of it, as they only develop certain attributes...Its no wonder that Chinese martial arts fail in MMA...most are only concerned with dance forms and not application.
You are right and wrong. Because the goals of training are different, the training methods are different.
You have a point, but at the same time "fencing" and MMA are sports. And because they're sports you see a lot of back and forth and risky exchanges. In real world weapons fighting, it's more like a quick clash, and someone dies. This is why form work was emphasized so much by old masters. With a 3 foot long bladed weapon, one quick slice could critically injure you or your opponent. Thus you need to get your body positioning exactly right. But yes, ideally, form should be a lead up to application and performance.
I was learning in the Sun Zhi Jun's lineage and the palms are so different, why is that if the both are in Cheng style?
I am a disciple of Sun Zhijun's lineage :) The style continued to be developed after Cheng Ting Hua's death and some disciples living in different areas created more advanced routines. Routines may be different, but essence is the same. The legitimate forms are all legitimate even if the movements are different. Confusing, yes, but rich with perspective.
@@dragonphoenix_kungfusome of them look like fromthe liu jingru's lineage 😮 For example, the fourth has got more movements (and kicks) as i learnt

He doesn't turn his outside foot in when he walks, which is why he looks funny walking the circle. In Chinese this is called 里直外扣, lizhiwaikou, inner step straight ahead and outer step turned inwards towards circle. His knees don't brush against each other; neither do his heels brush past each other when circle walking 磨膝蹭踝 moxicenghuai .
Maybe he would, if he knew why he practically needed it. And so - a demonstration of the cargo cult.
@@nopiko1 Defense against groin kicks, wild horse splits mane, standing knee locks all require lizhiwaikou.
@@kenlek869It seems to me that the demonstrated misunderstanding of the application of technology here is much deeper than the errors you have indicated.
Der Rasen sieht geprägt aus ich habe das auch schon erlebt 🦅
Lui Jingru ruined the form. he kept altering it, and it lost its essence. I don't believe he has anything other than good martial politics. I certainly wouldn't be following his method. Not if you want the truth. He wasn't much good 20 years ago and he hasn't improved. His students don't seem to have any real power and application which is pretty solid evidence that he's a show pony.. When he came to Australia he was more interested in going to the Strippers then he was in imparting anything of real skill..
Real talk I saw a video of him doing push hands, not special. Too much emphasis on carving out his place in history IE stylizing the moves so they can be identified with his style... Lots of energetic errors disconnected and not enough practical fighting experience I would say
That's not very nice to say. I'd argue that Liu Jing Ru's style shows more foundation and structure than other variants of Ba Gua. Of course everyone's interpretation is different - who is to say who's right and wrong in their style? I have trained under Liu Jing Ru, Han Yan Wu and Liu Deming and I have no doubt about the martial applications of Cheng style taught through this lineage. If you are interested in seeing Han Yan Wu's form he has a number of videos on The Tube. Regardless of what you think about Grand Master Liu Jing Ru as a person, he has popularised Ba Gua in China and promoted its learnings as a cultural asset. As far as I can determine he has done that for the good of everyone - not himself. He's no rich man. He's a humble disciple.
@@duncanwilliams5790 Not humble, nice, but not humble.. , and has taken away the essence and virtue of the style to make it more popular, easier.. But less beneficial, less martial, less miraculous.. They used to refer to that as Heresy in the classical text.. All people that study under someone, wish to idolize them, as a path to covert their own inner ego. But in this case, and in reality, his changes are all bad for the art.. It matters not if it is popular or not, or how many practice, its that it is correct and achieves the spiritual, metaphysical and Combative goals.. I wish you all the best, but my opinion on Master Lui Jingru, will not change..
Nice, I hope each one gets their own video. They were cut off, and couldn't see any of the forms in their entirety. I hope they keep at it too.
