Learn and impact Virginia wildlife crossing legislation!
On November 21st 2024, Wild Virginia discussed legislative goals for wildlife crossings in Virginia during the upcoming General Assembly Session starting soon. Learn about the pressing need to reduce wildlife-vehicle conflicts and the immense benefits these crossings and habitat corridors offer, including enhanced public safety, biodiversity, and climate resilience.
Virginia ranks among the top states for wildlife-vehicle collisions, and yet, current laws do not require wildlife passage considerations in infrastructure plans. This event will brought together Virginia legislators, wildlife experts, and advocates to provide insights into why this legislation is crucial for protecting wildlife and human communities alike.
This webinar was organized into two parts. In Part 1, learn more about the issues and policy options to improve wildlife corridors. In Part 2, we share specific strategies and tactics you can use to support these efforts.
