Welcome to my prospecting channel!
My name is Kevin and on this channel I'll share with you my prospecting adventures and struggles. I will aim to give my perspective for my approach toward prospecting, and explain the things that work and dont work as I hunt down the best gold deposits.

Nice find!

Iykyk
nice find
Thank you
Fort Stevens is known for tons of them, can be found in excess quite easily.
Please for the love of God stop telling people this .
@@amyrios1868 lol I thought it was common knowledge 🤷
Good find man! I dig amethyst, smoky quartz, scepters, etc in Northern California but haven’t yet in Oregon. Lots of agates and pet wood but my understanding is Oregon doesn’t have many crystal points. If you want to exchange locations lmk.
I’ve only got the one spot, and it’s pretty over populated as it is. Been trying to find more like it though
Yes please, I'll take a dozen!
So pretty though.
Love how the restart button circles the 🍄 almost calling me or should I say us to restart.
Good eye! I had never noticed
What’s your Snapchat
Any specific location or trails you recommend?
I can recommend a book, its "Rockhounding Oregon". its a very educational field guide.
Fort Stevens Oregon there every where here
Do you know best time of year to go?
Caleb Connell this was not fort stevens
@@crev1018 September-January
@@OneManMining where was it
i just came back from fort stevens. not a single one in the dune grass and i combed all along. I did however find suilus, mycena, lacarria laccata and evn amanita muscaria in dune grass oddly enough.
This video is showingmany mushrooms but there's info about what they are showing... not all that helpful but apparently that's not the point of this video lol
Do your research & you’ll know!
Hey I wasn't hating on the video however in the beginning of the video it does say it's for educational purposes. I was just stating an idea that would make it actually educational, it was not meant to offend anyone up to and/or including the creator of the video. LOL it's all good but I will say that videos talking about the identification of mushrooms can be kind of a slippery subject as most of us would not just run out and pick mushrooms based solely on what somebody showed in a video, there are people, especially young people who might do so. The Creator isn't responsible for those people doing so but I do think we should keep in mind that younger, or rather more un-experienced people tend to think they're invincible and when we share this type of information we probably should try to be as specific and correct as possible in hopes that it's not "our" video that causes (and i use the term 'causes' lightly) a fatal mistake. I would like to thank the creator of this video for his other videos on the subject, all of which were informative :) thank you
@@nlholla All of the mushrooms in this video are psilocybe.
@@natelion1022 thank you
@@nlholla The disclaimer in the beginning is for TH-cam guidelines so the video doesn't get flagged or removed. This is not a "how to" video but rather a video to show them in their different forms. Although I do see an issue with not labeling the different species, but maybe that will inspire some people to study further.
Any in southern Oregon?
Look in woodchips or mulchy areas from October to January, or in wet dune grass if you're on the coast. You probably won't find azurescens but cyanescens and allenii grow all the way down to california
@@elijahshott3931 in late December I was walking right in an area of suburban housing in the rogue valley. I was reading cyanescens were here. I had this really weird feeling that day. I looked down on the edge of a wood chip patch near a lawn and there was a small patch of Cyans! I have never found them. It was really obvious it was them seeing how blueish/green the margins of the caps were as well as some were totally bruised because they had been there for a little while I'm sure. I think there was about 8-10 specimens. Not a ton but enough to see what they were all about.
Would it be too late in the year for them in January. If I went out to the cost to look for them should I expect to find any?
Alexander Frazier in the right conditions yeah I just saw in a mushroom forum that someone recently found some
Kevin Matwich thanks for the fast response and cool vid.
Nice find my dude!
I'm thoroughly jealous. I haven't ran into anything in the Dalles, regardless of the time of year nor am I familiar with Oregon other than Portland, Hoodriver & The Dalles any major tips that could at least point me in the right direction? Oh & of course this is purely for educational purposes only. 😉
Jae Lavish get the book “psilocybin mushrooms of the world” by paul stamets. his will help tenfold
@@OneManMining - I deeply appreciate it & for taking your time to reply! however, I've gotten my questions answered else where. 😁👍🍄
Jae Lavish you’re welcome
@@Hoon.. where?
just cultivate them in your garden^^
Very nice! I went on the 17th. Found them on the Oregon side and Washington side. It was my first time finding them. I cant wait to go back out there next week.
It's been too cold and dry here.
I found about 50 total in two trips
They're back again. I saw some huge healthy ones today by the south jetty.
@@billybbob18 I went to the north jetty and found some also. Nice specimens. It's been the right kinda weather for them. Warm winter =more fruits 😎
Shit.. I need to get outta The Dalles ain't nothing growing out here. Which strains of psylocibe are growing this time of the year & there habitats? My contact moved to Cali about a year ago & figured I would try to forge for them. However, I've had poor luck as well as my location (I think) & weather. I could hike up this mountain but I don't think it's the right habitat, than again I wouldn't know. I'm close to attempt on grow indoor Psylocibe Cubensis golden teachers. I bet it's an awesome feeling to find them out in nature though.
