This was probably my best game :) Ynis Witrin was a kind of map-based adventure game with beat-em-up action thrown in for good measure. A mark of its success was that for the first and only time my royalty payments reached three figures (....just!). On it's first release it met with reasonably favourable reviews. ST Format (Jan 1992) said - 'Ynis Witrin is a blend of Gauntlet-style arcade bits and exploration, all lovingly presented. You guide your chap around on the large map. Clicking on the magnify button brings up a close-up so you can collect and bash things. The graphics are excellent, detailed and atmospheric. Pity it's so easy to die - might take you a while to get into it and start learning where the important objects are. First stop has to be a good weapon and some healing potions.' The reviewer in The One (Dec 1991) found the control method hard to get used to, but did say - '...a really professional product. It has all the trappings of a full price game, quality graphics coupled with beautiful (if slightly muffled) music and a very clever contol method ... Your task is to search Glastonbury Abbey for King Arthur's 'Thirteen Treasures of Britain' while avoiding the evil knights ... one of the nicest games I've seen for a long time.' The game was re-released in 1996, and was awarded 'Game of the Month' by ST Format. Their review was particularly glowing and said - '...Isle of Glass is a superb action/adventure game. Although easy to get into, it presents quite a challenge, especially in combat. Previously available as part of the MicroMagic range, Isle of Glass is now public domain. (ST Format Rating: 92%) Of course, the fact that ST Format had given the game only 65% three years earlier is neither here nor there.... Anyway, I've got a funny feeling that ST Format folded the following month...

You were really prolific. These are some nice looking games there, not at all like most STOS games that had a distinct look. I haven't played any of your games, but I am looking forward to trying some of them especially Isle of Glass, seems like a good Gauntlet clone.
