Ya know I really do, and I actually wanna go smaller next go around 😂 might do a BB Green with an FP hotside. My 6466 was great, no doubt about it. But I feel the red is more than a one trick pony. Doesn’t just go fast straight, goes fast while turning too. Better suits my needs and what I want to do with the car 🤘

@nipplel3sscage motor is built, cams etc. Red is super fun, just want to make the car a little scary lol heard fp zero is very laggy.

Zero is pretty laggy, at that point I’d just go with a 6266 or a 6466, but that’s my opinion. I believe you’d get more going with a precision or a different than stock frame turbo than a Zero however, I’ve seen a Zero do some damage. What do you mean by scary? Is 700 scary, or is 900 scary?

@@zachkelley1867 correct. I don’t believe I tied the main harness to anything, at work right now otherwise I’d be looking in my engine bay for ya. I know it tied some of the harnesses in the back that weren’t being used together and then to the ABS connector/harness on the firewall. Realistically, it’s all going to depend on how much you cut the harness back to free up your wires. You could take it all off and then re route as you please, it takes much longer but you can have a very clean result from doing so.

Big bolts on the baffle itself I reused. The kit I got does not come with new hardware. Loctite them and you should be good 🤘

That is a great question! Personally, I’m not touching the intercooler piping/intake manifold with cerakote. I’ve only used Cerakote as a means for heat control with the exhaust side of things, I.e. exhaust manifold, O2 housing, turbo, and downpipe. If you’re that worried about temps, I’d ask if your car is going to need the temp control on that side of the piping(cold side). I wouldn’t touch the intake manifold, and IC piping….sure I could see someone wanting to maybe wrap it with DEI Heat tape….but personally for a daily driven vehicle I think it’d be overkill. Lastly, what does your tuner say? They’re the one tuning it towards what you want out of the car, what’s their opinion? Hope this helps! If ya have other questions, by all means ask them 🤙

It’s an Evo 6 valve cover. They’re aluminum, so they weigh a little more but you’re able to weld fittings onto them easier than an Evo 8 Magnesium valve cover

I cerakoted and reused the torx screws and the caliper bolts. Zero issues so far, just make sure to not overtorque anything on them since it’s aluminum.

It’s a lot of playing around with it, mine did the same, just have to play with the fitting on the driver side and the set screw at the top that allows the left-right play.

I believe we’re talking about the same thing. There are 2 nuts on the driver side of the shifter with what I’m referring to as a fitting, but both sides of that fitting are threaded. I honestly can’t remember the name of that piece 😅 but you basically have to loosen both nuts and play with that fitting to either loosen or tighten the left to right motion, then tighten the nuts. I hope that helps, if it doesn’t I’ll try to make a “short” for that.

If I stayed stock driveshaft I would’ve gone with the JBX support bearing! Heard and seen nothing but good things from those bearings

I can’t say for sure, but I can say that if an officer pulls you over your headlight ACTUALLY works, just doesn’t have a high beam. Haven’t been pulled over since, but I also live in Florida. Cops don’t mind if you’re not doing something stupid

Your best bet is to just go to the dealership and buy the set through them. Cheaper because you don’t have to pay shipping

I am on an AEM V2, can work with stock or standalone ECUs. Yep, you just send your ACD ECU to whoever reflashes the ACD ECUs, and reinstall when ya get it back. Easiest if a buddy has a spare, or you have a spare to send off in case you wanna/need to continue to drive your Evo

Hey man, NON ACD gets down!! For a stock drivetrain component they can take a beating when it comes to laying power down. ACD just turns better, not sure it can handle the same amount of power though

@@nipplel3sscage well thats a huge plus!!! I was just looking up your Gauges as well but since i have a non ACD gauge setup they dont seem to have a good selection for me... So i guess stock that doesnt work at night it is 🤣

Actually XTuners can build yours however you want it done! I’m pretty sure they have options for NON-ACD Dashes, but you may have to send them a message. I spoke with them through Facebook and got some answers pretty quick

I will have to disagree, it is in fact a lockout shifter that will keep you from going from 3-2. The spring makes it quite difficult to go from 2-1, to saying that part is a lockout, but if I have to pull up on the lockout to get into either of the rows, it’s a lockout no?

Yessir!! I installed the super tech valves/valve springs and seals. Believe I went with the 40-43psi kit for the springs.

Car runs fine, but the AFRs are off so I need to touch up the fuel map. Light/output wise it’s not worse than the Non-HID headlight we have. Depending on what happens I may end up wiring a different bulb with the option of a high beam as well. Crazy we don’t have much aftermarket support for the headlights but Evo Xs got everything 😂

@@nipplel3sscage damn those AFRs man! I am hoping to get mine tuned here soon so we will see how mine is after that... Could you not try and wire in a HID headlight to that side and then just buy a passenger side HID one and have those? seems like a not cheap option but probably better lol. AND no kidding! with all the mods for this thing your stuck with super pricey stock headlights, or DEPO... yay us haha

@@wurstcrewchief2798 you would need to wire quite a bit, from my understanding, to make the em work on a non HID headlight if that’s even possible. Can’t say I’ve heard of that happening. Hell DEPO doesn’t even make headlights, only taillights for the 8/9s. Best of luck tuning 🤙

It is 3M cosmic blue! Tried to find the closest wrap to the Evo Electric Blue and this seemed pretty close.

I just changed the oil from OEM trans fluid to Motul, so there may have been a difference in that as well, but I did notice 4th gear was not as notchy. I don’t want to give ALL the credit to the cover, but if you can get your hands on one, personally I would. Once B and M are out, they have to wait for TRE to make a new order….and with how supplies have been going I’d order them sooner than later.

Bought car basically standard in 2017, I've put 3inch exhaust turbo back, 18inch enkei rpf1s, carbon canards on bumper, bought all new external trim/rubbers (including trim youve also changed going over car, both sides, luckily mines came with all clips, saw your vid, also got carbon roof diffuser, but not fitted yet) some new standard engine bits, 1 piece headlights, hks hardpipe induction (sounds amazing), turbosmart blow off, carbon mirrors,.... battery relocation kit, cusco catch can (not either fitted yet), cusco coilovers, cusco strut brace front and back, cam angle position heatshield, new intercooler and hardpipes few other bits ...........looking to get couple things you've mentioned, brake stopper and short shifter (can get 2nd hand Irp one right now quite cheap £400, extremely tempted as cae/coolerworx/irp all same kind off, but would prefer cae or beatrush laile, unlikely to get either cheap though), bigger turbo, cop kit, jmf manifold, alcon brakes, mabae cams, but it's all ££££££, I'm not in a rush (keep cars for long time), the evos even standard are so much fun to drive, I've concentrated on outside (it's like the bat mobile, black everywhere, stealth) for last few year, and small things engine related...this year I'm interested in a wee bit more power, what's your hp on the standard block?

@@bryanwilliams7530 right now, my guess is 550 to the wheels power wise. Wanting to go to a dyno here in a few months after the CF driveshaft install and see how the car does with the loss of rotating weight(13lbs). See if the 6466 lights up a little earlier. As time has gone on, I’ve actually come to find the suspension mods are what I should have started with before anything. A smoother ride > power all day. Also, ease of maintenance 😂

My first answer would be, if you have a tuner, go with what they tell you. That’s the most important answer. Listen to your tuner. Then there’s the question of how much boost you want, E85 tune? Things of that nature. My answer will always be 0.22-0.20. That’s the sweet spot for Evos in my opinion.

I can’t quite remember exact numbers, it’s been awhile, but I believe around the realm of $4-500 shipped back to my door with all the work done. The guy was super communicative during the process before/during/after. Highly recommend him 🤘 And if you are not wanting to ship your cluster, I believe he sells a kit you can do on your own at home with a very intensive write up on his Facebook page. Very in depth write up that is like 45 pages/photos or something like that
