Why only that cylinder? How many miles? Not an out of time issue!!? Valve fatigue? Lower end? I have driven VW cylinders half a million miles with no problems!!
Wasn’t a mechanical issue, engine was still in time and injectors tested after to be working. Maintenance was up to date and documented. About 102k miles on that engine. That’s the strange part, for a valve to melt, it had to have gotten extremely hot. Which points to AFR aka tune
Nooo. That can blast it off the connector leading outside of the car. Weed whacker string is good. Flexible, yet strong enough to clear the tube without blasting off. YW from this 68 yr old female.😉
You did half the job . I have a v50 2.0 and the air box intake is ultra restrictive . I did a box with one hose for the ecu and one 90mm hose from the fog light. I have a filter of 160x178mm with 100mm tubing to the sensor . With you 3" pipe it's gonna sound too much 🤣

They didn't melt they were hitting the top of the piston and broke off u can c the impact marks on the piston
Wasn’t a timing issue, if it was more than just one cylinder would have be affected. These melted off
Could be fixed possibly, but it’s easier to just buy another working one. And probably cheaper too
I've seen worse fixed.. AFR will fix the chambers...

Have a 1998 v70glt with a 5 speed swap, I'd recommend just cutting the muffler off. Sounds great and the neighbors don't complain.

Well really depends on mods on what you want out of it. I heard of people doing to 400-500 but you need to upgrade lots of things to get there
