You've stated it EXACTLY as he and the neo-Advaitans really are, with all that "this is it", "it's just what's happening", "nothing and nobody to gain anything", "nothing ever happened." All this means something when you live "your" life in accordance with this recognition, NOT just by having a split second awakening into it. Plenty of people, given the right circumstances or "timing" can indeed recognize this but very few if any of them retain that in their relative day to day existence. And a fair number don't even grasp that these Advaitan concepts can lead to absurd justifications by those not mature enough(i.e, I'm at liberty to rob a bank because, well, after all there's "nobody" doing it). No less than the Buddha himself emphasized the relevance of the Relative co-existing with the Absolute.

This is where these teachers fail big time,in trying to convey to their students what reality is . in What is real and what is not real . it really is pointless when you think about it ...these people leave more confused with pointless information

Hi Bill, are you saying that if infinity is all there is ("this" as Jim calls it) that there is not eternity? maybe just like space and time are parts of the same thing, not separate as we would perceive them to be in this dimension. But that infinity/eternity might be part of the same thing too, so that "this" is co-illusory with "now" I'd very much like to know your thoughts on this Bill David

+David Leitman Hi David my strong suit is not science its more in language. What Jim is sharing as is Tony Parsons is dissolving the importance of the separate self so as what is happening is simply happening, thus,,,, This is it. A scientist would add meaning to what is happening thus reinforcing the separate self and liberation and freedom becomes trapped in another concept of what is happening. We cant couch experience in concepts. Two very distinct domains of epistemology. As Jim would say no one knows this because no one is here in absolute zero " time " I shows up in relative time as a story as a concept of what is happening.

+David Leitman Good question David. What I am enjoying about listening Jim, Tony Parsons and Ella May is their take that the separate self is an illusion. Most mystics have stated the world is illusion. That statement the world is illusionary at least in my experience did nothing to dissolve the separate self. I find listening to Jim, Tony and Ella and their communication that me is the illusion distinct from the world very liberating. So not sure if eternity is an illusion but the separate self as what is being communicated as the illusion seems to allow the me to no longer be so important and the This is it.. of eternity is directly experienced. So would say David the separate self is the illusion and eternity is felt with a sense of aliveness using pure attention from pure Awareness. Eternity would be the ground of Being of what's possible once the seperate self loses its self importance.

If people clearly see what Jim is pointing to, over and over and over again, then such idealistic questions would not ever have a need to be asked. And I can tell you as a certainty that Jim doesn't have a "world view". The "new testament" as was its horrific predecessor was written by very unbalanced individuals. Religiosity and programming that is completely dualistic in every conceivable way. These horrific documents were written by very pitiable individuals who were misogynistic, neurotic bordering on psychosis, violent control freaks with very clear agendas. And the piece you are asking him to speak about is hearsay and at best a fairy-tale and a hypothetical that has zero to do with direct experience and direct seeing/non-dual seeing of the empty nothingness that is reality and ultimate truth of all things. A thought/desire arises, and action takes place and then the mind steps in and makes up a reason whilst assuming ownership. Just have a look at the mechanism. First to arise in me, but the last one just isn't there. There is much to be learned from that simple little formula.
