I love reading great books! The biggest problem in my life is my never ending list of books I want to read…
My favorite genres are historical fiction, literary fiction, and books based around Arabic & Middle Eastern cultures.
I’m using this channel to give commentary about the books I read and hear thoughts from other bookish folks!
I posted my first video in December 2024 and I can’t wait to see where I have arrived in December 2025!

Hi, my name is Darbi. Thank you for clicking on my video :) I started this channel as a fun hobby and a place where I can talk about books and connect with other bookish nerds online. In this video, I'm discussing why I didn't like "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" by Gabrielle Zevin, but how I discovered that books probably touch us all in different ways, depending on the life stage we read...
Starting My Book Channel! - BookTube Newbie Tag
มุมมอง 6821 วันที่ผ่านมา
This is my first video for my new bookTube channel! I'm answering the questions from the BookTube newbie tag that I saw in another video. Here are the questions: Why did you start this channel? What are some fun and unique things you can bring to Booktube? What are you most excited for about this new channel? Why do you love reading? What book or series got you into reading? What questions woul...
Hey, Darbi, I will gladly read Toni with you, and I have “The GoldFinch,” I will gladly read that with you as well. I have Beloved in my collection, and I need to read that. Goldfinch was made into a movie too.
@@Burneeka Hi Burneeka, I didn’t know about the Goldfinch movie! I’ll have to check it out after I read the book. I would love to hear your thoughts about both books after reading them! I cheated and finished The Bluest Eye last week. It was too good to put down. “Beloved” is a great suggestion, too, and I may need to add it to my list. It’s another one of Toni’s that I want to read. Thank you for leaving a comment!! ☺️📚
@ you’re welcome. Congratulations on starting your channel!!!
Hello there! great video. I've just joined a feminist reading club here in Portugal (where I'm from) and they will be reading handmaid's tale so I will be rereading it ahahah but honestly I need lists like yours all the time because I feel like I read more male than female authors (because it's also what we have available) but I hate and I'm always trying to read more books written by women
@@JosLiteraryJourney yes, I totally understand! One day, I found myself thinking, “why am I always reading books about women written by men? Aren’t we the ones who know our own experiences better than them?” So I started purposefully seeking out more female authors. Please let me know which female authors you read this year! ☺️
Hi Darbi and welcome to booktube! 💕💕
Thank you, Steph!! 🤩
Thank you for sharing this! This had been on my TBR forever and I love hearing honest thoughts! Can’t wait to see more of your reviews ☺️
Thank you for such a kind comment! I'm glad it didn't seem like I was overstepping and that my thoughts were helpful! ☺
Hello and welcome to book tube Darbi. I’m still pretty new to all this malarkey and finding my way around too. Look forward to hearing what you have to say. Best wishes with what you choose to read. Happy reading!
Thank you so much! I'm a bit slow on posting but I'm having fun with creating videos. It certainly is inspiring me to read more! Happy reading to you, too!
Hi, Darbi! I'm looking forward to hearing about all bookish things you want to share with us. From an oldie content creator to a newbie, welcome aboard. We're so glad to have you here! (And nice to see other booktubers out there being unashamedly low-tech!)
Hi, Nicholas! Thanks for such a kind comment! :) I've been having a lot of fun recording these videos and I even figured out a few tech tricks today! Thank you for watching!
Welcome to booktube 📚☕
Thank you! :)
I look forward to seeing more of your video, especially since you will be talking about books that not many people on here are discussing. I don't like the YA stuff or the best sellers either, so I am always looking for channels to watch that feature different types of books from the average.
Hi Angela, thank you for watching my first video and leaving a kind comment! I hope we continue to discover fun reads together :) Happy reading!
