This channel is mainly about me documenting my finds through out my digs. I also film my digs to show what kind of bottles are out their for other diggers/collectors.
I will also make videos on preserving/restoring relics I find.
I started bottle digging in 2013 after accidentally stumbling across old bottles on a construction site. Ever since then I have been dedicated to find more sites and save what ever bottles/relics maybe in them.

This was just a test of my homemade bottle tumbler. I did not run theses bottles long enough because I’m still experimenting. But as you can see it did remove the sickness, I’m just working on the final polish stage. The Dalleys ink i put comet powder in it to see if it would work. The rest of the bottles were aluminum oxide. Since i made this video I have done some changes to my setup.

Restoring brass plate found bottle digging

This video I am Restoring/cleaning a brass plate I found bottle digging. This plate was found in a 1950s section of the dump. The plate says China on the back but with a patina like that you know its not new. The plate is most likely from the 1940s-50s. Filmed restored in spring 2020

Their expensive. I got most of the expensive stuff for free and I still ended up putting $1000 into it lol
Does it still work? Did it need any oring replacements?
Needs a gasket were it screws on the hose
Must be one of pre-war or early-war - time production because of excessive use of brass. Due tu extreme shortage of copper, later on material of most parts was changed to steel an alloy.
To the point, very usefull for me as a newbie to this world of shiney lovelyness.

Some pretty great finds... good score on the marbles
they cleaned up great. Did you scrub them at all after removing them from the acid ?
You might need to brush off some residue but for the most part the acid dose all the work.

Nice work. I rarely finds milks around here and if I do, they're not embossed
I can only find the embossed milks on large dumps from towns. The country side dumps they just reused them on the farm until they broke it seems. Problem is with large town dumps are most are built over now.

Heating up with the booster charge still in place? That is playing with your life. You have been very lucky this time.
The bottom unscrewed and the top was sized. I soaked it in transmission fluid because the bottom unscrewed all the transmission fluid soaked the charge. The pin was gone when I found it and there are clear signs on it being tampered with before being discarded. This was NOT a battlefield relic this was most likely brought over to north America as a souvenir after the war. The solider probably died in the 1950s family went threw his stuff and threw it out.

Would Baking Soda be gentle on the painted lettering and would CLR be safe for removing rust stains?
It can work but its on the coarse side. Barkeepers friend powder is your safest bet because its finer. I have had good luck with CLR with rust stains but don’t touch the paint when its soaking it can rub off some times.

Any idea what was in the cobalt cone top ?
My guess would be ink or maybe dye. I believe its the only one I ever found so its not very common in my area.

Ya those screw cap ones must of not been used long because you almost never see them. Of course the one time I want the screw cap one to be in good shape its not lol.

Yes it is manganese. The camera on my phone did not pick the lavender color up very well. I bought a new phone this year so my video quality should be much better in 2023.

I was wondering what the value and the history is for the Toronto edmonton Ottawa bottle I found one just today . What is best to do with it I haven't cleaned it or nothing has no cracks and fairly clear
The quick history is that company became Canada dry. Value is around $10-20. Cleaning I would soak it in water and dish soap for a few hours depending on how dirty it is. Then I would use any brush with plastic bristles and scrub the outside of the bottle. For the inside if you don’t look for bottles vary often I would use “copper” BB's for a BB gun and shake them around inside until the bottle is free from dirt. I would fill the bottle 1/4-1/2 way with BB's. The BB's are copper plated so they will rust become no good but in a pinch they will work. The method I use is cut up 12-14 gauge soiled copper wire but its expensive and time consuming making it. If you don’t do this often its not worth it.
