Lots of people have never seen a draft horse pull before.

My brother in law had 2 Missouri mules, well he wanted to train them to pull (field work etc. to make the story short, he got nowhere with those . Instead he ruined them by using a 2x 4 on their head. What he told me was that is the only way to train an animal. I quit working for that sob.

Belgians are simply amazing. As all draft horses! Putting the horsepower in well, horsepower ❤ they work hard but you can tell he loves them. I know I likely sound old fashioned. The horses wouldn't do the work willingly if they didn't feel mutually respected or reciprocated though.

I'd be proud of that team too.

I wd b tempted to put front knee pads on the horses so they dont bash up their knees if they fall a bit when getting going. stepping into the snow to get traction is a great idea, too hard on ice of course. hope the truck driver gave u a few bucks for this!! much cheaper than calling a tow service for a big rig!

The term horsepower really is outed, I was googling and on paper a 1700 draft horse in its prime, in its front end alone, produces over 2700lb of equivalent torque, that is incredible.

Good way to injure a pair of beautiful horses. A semi-truck hooked up to an empty trailer weighs around 35,000 pounds. A single draft horse can pull a load up to 8,000 pounds. Even with the help of the truck's motor, it's not worth straining and possibly injuring a horse just because you can't wait for a tow truck to come and you want to show how strong they are. Sure, we know they're strong but it's not worth the EGO trip to take an unreasonable chance like this. Pretty fu-king stupid if you ask me.
