But when the lyrics were rewritten, the writer called Thăng Long (Hà Nội) as the "capital" (because at the time the lyrics were rewritten, the capital of the new government was Hà Nội-whose old name was Thăng Long)

This is not the anthem of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This is not the anthem of the Austrian Empire. This video has the 1797 lyrics of Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser, and that was the anthem of the Holy Roman Empire. I always wonder, why did Vietnam fall to Communism so easily, when the songs it had are so amazing? The lyrics may be too closely translated, but the words and the music itself are some of the best in East Asia itself. I know Vietnam is SE Asia, but it's better than the anthems of China, Japan, and Korea put together.
In fact, the French forced Vietnam to choose that path. Well, Ho Chi Minh and King Bao Dai used to ask for help from the US and the Allies, and no one help. Well, the Japanese and Chinese were no less as the Vietnamese patriots tried to learn from them and they betrayed the Vietnamese patriots. Especially the Americans refused to recognize the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam's independence in 1945, if Vietnam did nothing, the French would return again. So yeah, Ho Chi Minh has to do something for his country. And who is the superpower behind the US? Soviet Union, and with socialism, it's the only option when you are forced by the US and the Allies.
@@E.Scarlett.K What you just said is true, but I don't believe Communism was the only option. The Soviet Union could have just pulled out of Vietnam at the same time as the United States, and that would have allowed it not to fall to Communism.
@@mikeor- That's true, but there was no other choice at that time. I mean patriots with great ideals and ideologies have been betrayed or the organization dissolved. The Communist Party of Vietnam at that time was not supported by the Soviet Union and Communism China until they took control of the government, then China recognized it and later the Soviet Union. Well, my great-grandfather was a member of the Nationalist Party of Vietnam, he was betrayed by Japan and the Republic of China, he later joined the Democratic Party of Vietnam, and work together with the Communist Party of Vietnam, In his recollections, communism was a vague thing, but he accepted it anyway because the greatest Vietnamese revolutionary of the 20th Century, Nguyen An Ninh, accepted it. So yeah.
@@mikeor- In general, the Communist Party of Vietnam is not really bad, my mother's family was saved from hunger and poverty. Especially the money that communist countries provided to North Vietnam, most of it was used for the people, well, even so, I don't agree that the Communist Party of Vietnam is really perfect, because they made a lot of mistakes during the early Vietnam war, I still forgave them for their quick correction.
