I'm not trying to be Hetfield or trying to perfectly copy someone else's style. The song is just fun and sick to play. Focusing so much on (technique)/ not being able to down pick everything, is just gonna put me in a bad mindset. Having fun, enjoying and appreciating a Song is more important to me.

@@cyrhonej but once you practice downpicking it and nail it at full speed. It’s so worth it! Doesn’t have to be a bad mindset it’s part of practicing! :) Also this isn’t hetfield a style, downpicking is what gives a lot of metal its aggressive sound and is common in lots of thrash metal. Sure you can alternate pick but technique defines the unique sound of this genre. Imagine finger picking it? Would sound odd wouldn’t it

@JAF I've been down the rabbit hole of trying to perfect something, and I've studied all the reasons why and practiced. I've just moved my priorities on what's actually worth it for me. I don't want to waste time if I can work easier to learn the lessons I want from it and gain the same level of enjoyment from it. My priority being: Song writing, Ear training, timing. Only technique I focused on this was trying to play it cleanly which I was quite relaxed with.

Should still work, none of the patches mention anything about 236d or Leo hurtbox that could change it. But since it's been quite long ago I don't remember the specifics of what makes it combo drop. Possibly tightening up cancels into 236d and the 2h link pick up. Experiment with delays? Make sure to copy whether it is 1 or 2 hits of 2h since its very specific.

I used a standard ds4 pad, I just have play / record on L3. Test is just both characters do ki charge at the same time, then manually time after recovering inputs (especially for superdash which can cancel ki charge). While recording you'd have to press ki charge just before but as close as possible just so inputs while playing back is close enough. And while playing back press ki charge and L3 at the same time.

This video is old as hell, before I made sure every video I made had inputs showing. I made videos like these mainly to have video reminders to myself, and some others, so some of them were just recorded instantly and then uploaded. I understand the trend to bitch about "no inputs," but I did this for myself. I did not have a full check list plan on how to properly teach and convey information, so complete beginners will automatically know what they are looking at. Speaking of learning, this video is for something quite specific, for a move supposedly to be rarely used. Lastly, if you didn't know (I'm assuming you don't know anything), the game have character specific combos. Which means sometimes the "Best Combos" are different against certain characters. The description has a list on which works on what and what the most damage I could get and with a Knock down, so I could do it all over again. To be fair I didn't write down that the number on the list correlates to clip order, so I can understand if that was confusing, but based on your reaction this is probably just some angry comment just to comment sake.

@@cyrhonej My bad, you are blocking the kick followup and then punishing the overhead. Can you still punish her if she doesn't do the overhead?

@@Elivanse if she ends on the kick you might be able to punish, but you'd have to react fast after inputting 1P+K (FD) > 4P+H (pseudo OS). Gotta watch out for her delayed special cancels from it too though. E.g If you punish with 2D they could delay the overhead and go over.

It should still work. Perhaps a bit better since they buffed the start up of M volley ball fist in S3. All characters can essentially do this, since Super dash cant come out on block with H and it essentially just becomes a delayed special cancel.

It quite tight, I personally drop it a lot if I don't practice it rigorously. But the trick is to buffer a dash when you land into immediate j.L (this gets rid of some of the landing recovery which makes it possible). Input should be - delay SuperDash > 66 j.M (land) 669 j.L.
