Kitchen Garden Therapy

Welcome to Kitchen Garden Therapy channel. My name is Slava Jalili. Here I share my experience with growing my food from seed and practicing permaculture principles. I am an avid cook and herbalist, love fermenting and canning what I grow. My garden is a very small urban backyard, Chicago, zone 5b, I am growing in ground, raised beds, containers, cold frame and a little greenhouse. Sometimes gardening is viewed as hard and stressful, my purpose on this channel is to show how therapeutic and rewarding it can be. And how great it is to be at one with nature. I find it to be specifically important in urban areas where people are so alienated from nature. No matter where you live and how much space you have, you can start small and grow together with your garden, eat what you grow and grow what you eat. Hope you find my ideas and experience useful in your gardening journey.

Great good day
Nice but I want to know how to tie those two strings together to keep the bag closed. I am fighting with them and I’m making two notes and it still takes me too long. I wish you would’ve shown that.
Is it okay to use Yellow Chrysanthemum?
I have 6 of these plants. First time growing Reaper, "thank you" for this video. I now have an idea what to do with reapers 🌶🌶🌶
Educational and unexpected asmr. 👍
How do you get your lemon flavor? Do you use dried lemons?
Have you tried lemon balm again? How much longer would you let it ferment? I have a lot of lemon balm. Thank you!
I am from Mexico, from northwest region. Sonoran desert, my grandma had the cinnamon basil in the garden and I think is very common in that area .
❤
I freeze them whole and cut off a dime size piece to use in 2 cups of sauce. 1 tomato, a little onion, garlic, cilantro and lime or lemon juice, salt and pepper. Put in blender and use fresh.
Very nice video! Mouthwatering. I'm not a youngen any more, so is there any way to speed up the aging process? Heat, different vinegar variety, sun exposure? Thank you.
Love your recipes!! Slava, would you ever pickle the nasturtium leaves? If so, please make a video❤😊
The basil you showed after lettuce basil is Thai basil. It smells so good, almost like black licorice. Nice job with your plants!
That is not needed at all. Just put it in the ground...
I love this video 🌿
Here I was thinking I'm alone in the spinach obsession lol. I don't have 3 of your varieties but I'm slowly adding them lol. I do have longevity, kangkong, red and green Malabar, Okinawa, sissoo, Caucasian and new Zealand growing alone with my bloomsdale. I've been meaning to add good king Henry and perpetual to my group now I'll need to look into that water spinach variety you mentioned (it's different from the water spinach I have ) it all looks delicious and nutritious. 💜 happy growing 💜
Wow ❤❤❤
How to mske this box?
I grow all of these in my perennial garden except for the ramp. I'll have to check into that. 💜 Happy growing 💜
Hi. I loved taking in your videos. Would you happen to recommend a source that sells seeds of the perennial plants you mentioned? Do you happen to sell them yourself? Thank you and blessings.

Cardanal basil in my favorite however I am in Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean and we don't have non of these varieties here I got the one I mentioned to you from a friend. The blooms are amazing try it . I can't put my varieties together the cross pollinate
And what is your secret with schisandra? Mine has died twice! I am trying the third time now. What do I do to keep it alive?
To be honest I don’t do anything to it, it just grows on its own

Guess I can't do it, I don't have a food dehydrater and I can't afford to buy one. I'm broke. That's why I wanted to make free tea.
Use your oven at its lowest setting and keep the oven door cracked open
I don’t use dehydrator, I do put them on glass plates ( don’t like using paper towels) leave them on the counter, they will dry really well, 🙇♀️
So amazing but i need the empty bags and i live in Malawi, how can i get them 😢
Try longevity spinach
Where can I find Yellow emperors chrysanthemum flower seeds to grow?
