    That clears up the confusion why some pressure switches are wired with two wires, and some are wired with 4 wires, I will now call you "Sennsei" Teacher!

    My installation is old fashion weird... 3/4 hp control box regular. They only used on side of the switch....from the control box one in, one out ! been like that since 1983.

    Thanks for clear video. The first result on google lead me to believe zero was a tripped overload result which lead me to buy a new box as I couldn’t source just the overloads. Turns out I could’ve just thrown the old one back on on and had water few days sooner

    No matter how I attempt to adjust my 40-60psi switch, I only get ~8psi differential...odd If I loosen the big dP screw, then the switch starts banging until I crank down the small cutoff pressure screw The more I loosen the big dP screw, the more I have to crank down the small cutoff pressure screw to keep the switch from banging...the small screw is almost bottomed out now. Everything you said in the vid is right, but this new switch is not doing what I think it should do for my 5hp submersible well pump.....I want to keep my pressure below 80psi, but it's not happening for some reason.

    Perfectly explained. I've been trying to understand how to wire my deluxe box but every video I've come across is for a standard box. Between this and your other video I believe that I've reached enlightenment.

    Wish you’d use regular wire that runs in a house and better wording.

    You probably should have added a note to discharge the capacitors before working on the box. A lot of people don’t know you can get shocked by a capacitor even if it unplugged.

    SW? L2?? what the hell you talking about? further explanation would be useful.

    • @MelvinGray-c8s
      @MelvinGray-c8s 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      L2 = Hot In SW situation both wires are hot, one is incoming and one is outgoing, there is a deluxe control box in this situation. If you do not have a Deluxe system you will have 4 wires and 2 grounds.

    Thank you for the thorough video. Especially the part on the reset button, I thought it was bottomed out but just needed to use a prod to get passed flush.

    So the deluxe box allows you to basically get double the life out of the pressure switch?

  • @CreativeCircuits
    @CreativeCircuits ปีที่แล้ว

    The home run won't be any different from one box to the next, as the home run must be sized to the current draw of the total maximum load of the circuit!

    • @spelunkerd
      @spelunkerd ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe he's referring to an optional situation where the pressure control (or cistern volume control) is wired to the control side of a contactor. That control side doesn't carry full current going to the motor, it simply controls the current needed to open and close the contactor solenoid. So the branch wires going to that pressure or cistern volume switch can be significantly smaller gauge. As you say, the home run carries full current for the motor all the way back to the panel.

    • @CreativeCircuits
      @CreativeCircuits ปีที่แล้ว

      @@spelunkerd The wires to the control side are local and maybe a foot of wire within the box if the controls are being transformed down to a lower voltage then they could be sized differently but it isn't a point worth mentioning on cost. It doesn't matter what controls you use, you still have to provide the same size conductors to the control from one controller to the next, as he was mentioning the total cost difference. The wire size would not have any change.
