Dennis Bovell has earned himself the reputation of being Britain’s reggae maestro, from pioneering early developments in the genre over 40 years ago to producing classic hits. He is renowned as an accomplished multi-instrumentalist (playing guitar, bass and keyboards), sound engineer, composer, band leader and producer and continues to lead the UK scene with innovative and adventurous music.

Since making his recording debut in the early Seventies with legendary British reggae band, Matumbi, Dennis ‘Blackbeard’ Bovell has repeatedly demonstrated his supreme talent and versatility in a variety of music fields. And yet enormity of his impact upon the UK’s music scene over the past five decades has remained largely overlooked. ‘The DuBMASTER - The Essential Anthology’ sets to finally address this injustice by presenting the first serious retrospective of Dennis’s output as both a performer and producer.

Heard loads of dennis black beards instramental proper dubs an a few he done with linton but iv only heard a couple of his vocals an on all of them he bus different style what a great artist well underated. Most of the tunes u hear in the film babylon its black beard dat ar bus dem ina rootsman style. The warrior give shaka some worries back in de days when he had his own sound system, i think it was called sufferer sound.
