do you have a video going more into the tuning part? if i were to go and put ALL of these parts on and daily drive it. how do i know what tune i need and not knowing that how do i know who id trust to go with.
@@voxwhitefang I have not really covered much of anything about the tuning side as of yet. I'll be honest I'm not a "tuner", I'm a mechanic. This being said I probably won't talk in detail about tunes for a long time. I can speak of my personal experience with my current tune and also my future plans.
@stevethewoodypeterson I appreciate the honesty. I'm about as unfamiliar as it comes when modifying a car as u can be 😆
WHAT A UNIT!! She looks really good man. The details you put into her, especially all the blue and bling, is awesome! Thanks for the bumper bracket upgrade idea. I'll definitely be doing that sooner than later, considering even if I didn't WANT to do it sooner, she would of made me HAVE to do it later😅

Quick and simple video! Do you happen to know the size of those yellow clips? I busted a few on accident. Ordered what I thought the replacements were but they were too small… thanks!
Is it worth even upgrading the value edition/Base ?
@@overlymaing1132 the non turbo 1.6 can be upgraded sure! Any engine can be improved from the factory with some basic modifications in my opinion. "Is it worth it?" those are things that only you can decide. It's your money and your car.
@ I appreciate that I was just feeling maybe some aesthetics at the very most since it doesn’t have a turbo and it wouldn’t be smart to add one either
@overlymaing1132 definitely not cost effective at all to add turbo to your model. I don't know that I would really recommend spending too much on the base model Veloster but again that's something you can decide the value in for yourself. I personally just like to modify things. So anything I can do to improve the look and feel, or the drivability, and it makes myself enjoy the vehicle more then I say yes do it. Just remember a car is rarely ever an asset that increases in value.
Mine's the same year and color as well, I bet the darker wheels will look sick asf, post again once you get it done!!
@@eagle56786 hey thanks for checking it out! I just bought my gsw about 2 years ago as my daily and I have only just begun upgrading things. I'm really feeling a nice dark gunmetal gray maybe a little metallic color will look great with the yellow calipers on the reflex silver car
Thanks for the video! Local dealer just quoted me $600 dollars to replace "heavily rusted rear rotors." Soooo, I'm getting ready to do a full brake job on my 2015 Golf as well! For less than $400 overall. I'm considering cleaning up the calipers and/or painting them while I'm down there... Going to get the wheels powder coated in the spring, anyways. Thanks again
@@eagle56786 dealerships are pretty crazy with their prices but they typically do have better skilled and trained people to work on your vehicles compared to your "buddy down the street". Personally I prefer to do all of my own work and repairs to my vehicles so that I know exactly what was done to them anytime they need work or something replaced. I have saved so much money over the years by doing anything myself
G2 works great aslong as your do a good job in prep. I've had it on mine for 8 years. it's strong too. doesn't chip easily
Ooooo early morning upload? I have the G2 caliper paint kit, just been too lazy to get down and do them....
@@maximumeffort3225 yeah fun fact I had this kit of yellow sitting on my shelf for about a year specifically for the sportwagen calipers and I just never got around to doing it. I basically waited until it was time to replace pads and rotors so it made sense to pull everything apart for painting.
Just bought myself a veloster, and the previous owner was an idiot kid who messed up the car. I need to do a lot of fixing on it, and one thing is the bumper. I will be doing the bracket thing. But the top of my bumper does not look like yours. There are only 2 bolts in the middle. I assume the outer ones were cut off for some reason, and there is no shield any more. I assume I will need either a new bumper or new shield. Where did you get your bumper? And where did you get that amazing blue bracket it's bolted to?
@@andrewenns1884 I recommend only buying OEM bumpers from the dealership and having them painted to match the car. Most of the aftermarket companies that make cheap bumpers are exactly that "cheap" junk. As for the blue bracket. That is an all aluminum custom upper radiator core support that I made for my car after a car accident a couple years ago replacing the OEM parts that were damaged.
I have a R-spec today I star the rebuild process, and damn, I like the way your engine bay looks like
Hey can you explain the oil line that is on the turbo on the right side of the engine got a bolt that is spinning need some insight about it thanks bud all this is helping me a lot 🙏
@@christizer93 the line that connects to the top of the turbo is an oil feed line used to keep the turbo cool and lubricated. The line coming out of the bottom of the turbo is the oil return line that takes oil back to the engine after it is fed through the turbo
Hey man is there a benefit to installing an oil catch can on the 1.6t velo? I’m hitting 100k on my engine and trying to increase longevity and efficiency on the motor. I heard these motors have a lot of carbon build up. Lemme know what you think please. Thanks in advance
@@lastfirst-d1f check out my other videos. I have one talking about catch cans and I have one where I remove the intake manifold and show what all that carbon build up looks like
Hell yea , keep up the good work man
Appreciate the support! More videos coming soon.
Glad to know this was an issue, I had the issue of my LPFP shitting itself a while back and got it replaced under warranty thankfully. After they replaced it, my code for a evap leak also disappeared. They also replaced the gasket like you did for the "lid" of the tank
@@slow_clumsy yea I don't know if this is a "common" issue but I know a lot of people like to top off their fuel whenever they get gas once the nozzle shuts off and the gas gauge says full then it's full. Adding extra fuel in just to get to an even number at the pump will overfill the tank and cause evap issues. Lucky this gasket is pretty easy to replace.
@stevethewoodypeterson I'm too scared to do that 😂 the fear of having fuel go everywhere is immense
Genius
Holy crap. You saved my life, with the coolant mod you just taught me. Now I can service so much faster in the future. I just bought a stuffed turbo for my gen 1 VT. Thank you man
That manifold you made is baller status. Woah it cleaned up so much better haha those stages of paint work was worth it

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, the trophies are definitely something I'm proud of and a good reminder of how much I enjoy building cars.
Hey man, Just got a 2014 VT at about 130k miles. Love it so far and was wondering if you find it necessary to install an oil catch can. Seems to be maintained well without it but have been seeing a lot of owners say to get it anyways.
Personally I recommend adding catch cans or at least 1 of the off the pcv valve. You need to keep an eye on it though because if you let it get filled up then the can is no longer doing anything good for you. Is it an absolute necessity? No not exactly but it definitely helps to keep oil blow by from ending up back in your intake manifold.

@@HagenVillani I had to use Google translate to understand sorry I don't speak or read Spanish. Thanks for checking out my videos. If I'm understanding correctly you have a Hyundai accent with a non turbo engine in it and you want to add a turbo to it. I would not recommend doing this because the internal parts of your engine are not designed to handle the extra power that adding a turbo will give. There are multiple other issues you will have when trying to add a turbo to your model.
Hello, thanks for answering, I understand you well, well, in my case, I want to change the engine that is G4FD to a G4FJ engine, The G4FJ engine is compatible for accent, i30, veloster etc. So if it is possible since the G4FJ engine is compatible for turbo, the same specifications indicate it, since my engine is not possible.
I wrote to the manufacturer and he says that the G4FJ engine is compatible with the aforementioned cars, and it fits well in mine, now that I know this, I want to do it, but for this, I need instructions, More explicit.
@HagenVillani oh I see you want to swap the whole engine. That is doable, but you will also need the correct engine wire harnesses and ECU for the turbo engine. Honestly it's not something that is really worth doing when it's all said in done in my opinion. For that kind of effort and money involved you could probably do a b series or k series Honda swap for less money and time.
Hi again, from what I read, the cables are all the same for this engine, the only thing that changes is the engine, for something more advanced, I only read that the computer would have to be reprogrammed, Actually my love for Hyundai is very big my friend, I don't know if you understand me, many are inclined towards other brands but Hyundai despite not being as Popular like Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc etc... I hope you understand me and this is a project I have, I want to make a unique accent in my country. Good to know hope to see the modified manifold that KDM or Leonard is making.
@@Tuner_Garage_Bros they have been teasing that manifold for years now. It would be cool but a manifold upgrade is really only necessary in the 400hp+ and heavy racing applications. The stock manifold is good for 350+ HP
Also, before I forget again, can you show us where the plug is for the engine coolant to drain.
Bottom driver's side corner of the radiator is a plastic plug. You just twist to unscrew and coolant will start draining. Throw a catch pan or bucket under it.@@Tuner_Garage_Bros
So i bought a 16 VT 6Spd that was already modified (I was only told about suspension). It's got MBRP Exhaust (but i don't know which one), muffler delete, i put the injen full Cold air intake system but i might switch to the short ram version but talking out the last pipe, it's got suspension CXRacing Coilovers and probably a few other things like blow off valve upgrades and a tune. Only real thing I've done was add some catch cans, the intake and a new fuel pump when mine failed. My big question is how can i find out if it's been tuned? It runs great, not even at 100k miles yet and i brought it into a Hyundai dealership but they couldn't tell me if it was tuned with a buyer's inspection.
I also notice you have the FMIC I was looking at with the blue piping and possibly swapped out the coolant pipes which I was also looking at. If I did the fuel line, would I need to tune it right after to make sure it's giving the correct amount of fuel? And last question, what about a boost controller? I've been looking at the eStreet boost gauge/controller
