    My wife was raped by the PRESIDENT of the AARC, the night he was elected. Her mentor, "the father I always wished I had" he was 58 years old, she was 24, and we were trying to start a family. He used his position of power to abuse her for several years before she finally left the industry, and still spent 20 years hiding her shame because he told her, "YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO LIE...NO ONE WILL BELIEVE YOU" "YOU'LL LOSE EVERYTHING" "I'll tell your husband this was your idea" He was old enough to be her grandfather. The AARC knows. They are in receipt of her 3+ page notarized sexual assault affidavit. But guess what? They don't care. THAT is why the respiratory world has trouble recruiting.

    The respiratory world needs less "leaders" like this guy that turns his head while his colleagues rape and assault young women in the industry, and then, you'd have more young people in the field. Didn't he get suspended from RUSH for a harassment or assault claim? While NBRC president? Yeah...but it's not systemic in the industry, right?

    Great news! I know a few CNA’s that wants to be an RT but when they know that there’s a few test, they went & go to a nursing school instead. This will encourage young ones to be an RRT & we will grow our work force.

  • @TheSilentRight
    @TheSilentRight ปีที่แล้ว

    This is going to lead to RRTs that are not as clinically strong. As an RRT, I believe that just because we need more people does not mean we should lower our standards. The Clin Sims are hard for a reason. We literally hold people's lives in our hands.

      Couldn't you say the same thing about nurses? They've got patient's lives in their hands too, especially with medications that could put a patient's life in danger if given at the wrong dosage. As an RRT myself, I can't tell you how many times I've ran into nurses that I would later question how they even passed the NCLEX exam.. I'll have to disagree with your statement.

      Yea same with nurses

    • @FormerNewAger-sb2ue
      @FormerNewAger-sb2ue 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The nurses are just med-pushers. There's an RT I met, he said he became a surgical nurse for the job stability since there weren't a lot of job openings for RTs. He said the nurses think he is a doctor because they come to him for help all the time He usually understands more than they do. He told me he learned more in the respiratory therapy program than in the nursing program. He is the one who said the nurses don't know anything! Based on this one night, I believe that is true. My coworker and I helped a patient with CHF trying to catch his breath leaning over the side of his bed with sats in the 70s and these dumb nurses didn't know what to do except give him more Albuterol (all-better-ol) instead of dealing with his ventilation FIRST and this poor patient wasn't sleeping because he was afraid of not being able to breathe (orthopnea). So we put him on a high flow, and he was sound asleep about an hour later. The nurses have just been recording good looking numbers the whole time, but we recorded our own REAL numbers and the next morning they copied our numbers to appear as if they are doing their job. That's how dumb the nurses are. RTs are the real mvps because we are trained to know everything about the cardiopulmonary system, so we know things that nurses do not, that's why nurses are not allowed to even touch the ventilators (under California Code and Regulations, Title 22). I know of a skilled nursing facility that is currently under investigation because the nurses were touching/using the ventilators. RTs at my school trained for MONTHS at an accelerated program to learn the ventilator using calculations to set the volume at, what parameters to set to affect the arterial blood gases, what the graphics mean, etc. When Nurses think they can do everything an RT can do, yet they're burnt out. If nurses treated RTs more kindly and advocated for the need of RTs more, then maybe there would be more jobs for RTs and less burnt out nurses.

      Uh sir I had one of the highest GPAs in my school. If you think it so easy. Sign up or mechanical vent or PFT class, and finally sit for your boards. The nerve of people. The only exam I can think of that is harder than the TMC-CSE are the MCAT and the Step exams you take as a medical student.

  • @lonelycharles
    @lonelycharles ปีที่แล้ว

    Can someone please shine more light on this? I am taking the TMC exam this year. As per this video, there is only one TMC exam no sims?? What is the high cut & low cut score?

    • @isaacgonzalez4606
      @isaacgonzalez4606 ปีที่แล้ว

      according to the NBRC site, the new exam wont go into effect until 2027 so you will still be taking the TMC then the CSE. the low cut score for the TMC is i believe an 86 and high cut score is, i believe, a 92 or a 94, please ask your program lead to confirm those numbers. if you get the TMC high cut score then youre eligible to take the CSE, the clinical exam. the clinical exam doesnt have a high or low cut score, you just need to pass it. each CSE exam is different so theres no set in stone score. some versions of the test are harder than others. the TMC is always going to be 160 questions with 20 of them not graded, but when i first took my CSE it had a pass score of around 227 and i failed it. the second time i took it the pass score was 284 and i passed with a 288. the CSE exam has 22 questions with 2 of them not graded. if you only pass the TMC low cut then youre going to be certified as a CRT(certified therapist). if you pass the high cut score then youre going to take the CSE and when you pass that youre going to be RRT (registered therapist). where i live most hospitals wont hire you as only a CRT even though youre legally allowed to work, most hospitals where i live require you to be RRT. the TMC isnt that hard, its mostly memorization of normal values and knowing terminology with a few ABG interpretation questions thrown in; yes it can be tricky but as long as you diligently study youll be fine. the CSE is much harder, its all about critical thinking and applying all your knowledge into example situations. i HIGHLY recommend you use practice exam software for both tests, i took the practice tests many many times until i could confidently pass them over and over again.
