I first discovered them on a youtube short. Thank you for the intriguing history! There's a very cute doll in a mascot horror game called "Poppy Playtime". It's the cutest doll I've ever seen. God bless and have a nice day! ^u^
i really appreciate you acknowledging the lack of diversity in the authentic blythe doll catalog. It personally leaves a nasty taste in my mouth when I see fair skin collectors get soo offended over factory customized blythe dolls, like they're the ones "losing" money lmfao. Brown/darkskin girls & women or nonbinary folks deserve to have dolls that look like them too😢 .
Thank you, I felt the need to mention it since I haven't seen anyone else (at least on TH-cam) speak on the topic. And I completely agree with what you said. There's a lot of Blythe trends going around, but one I saw that particularly saddened me was the "this Blythe looks like me" trend and almost every person of color who joined in on it had to use AI images since there's such a small range of dark-skinned Blythe, let alone any authentic ones

You can purchase new authentic Blythe dolls from Junie Moon or purchase older authentic Blythe second hand off of eBay

i usually buy mine off of Etsy! you can find artists on Instagram who make customs for you as well
so many gorgeous blythe dolls!! I have a question for this community. I had bought a blythe dress thinking it was already made like most dresses I buy online but this was a packet with the dress pattern and the material fabrics. Is there any service out there that would be willing to sew the dress together for a cost?

how well made they are
I'd say they're all well-made and the same quality, both authentic and factory Blythe. But they are **hard plastic**, so they may crack if dropped, paint may crack if they aren't sealed correctly, and parts that are glued on may fall off. For example, I dropped my doll named Lullaby once and her ear came off, but I glued it back on. They aren't toys and their plastic isn't like other dolls (Monster High, Rainbow high, etc) so I suggest being gentle with them!

So many little details make her look even more adorable! Those magnets on her feet could be to help her wear some kind of flip-flops or just some kind of shoes in general? Either way she's really cute ^^

is ebay a trustworthy place to buy a blythe doll from?
It depends on the seller! I have two Blythe dolls from ebay, both on a factory base. One was not in the best shape (broken eye mech, wonky body, etc) while the other was in perfect condition. Just be careful!

Blythe are some of the most unique looking dolls. It’s no wonder they have such a rich customization scene. They’re incredibly photogenic, it makes me really curious to see if someone can make professionally done stop motion film with them.

It’s funny how when you get your first custom you’re kinda like…yes I get the hype. Somehow you become compelled to get just one more because they should have a friend. Now once you’ve purchased your third one you realize have them bunched together really does bring out the best in each one. And on and on it goes.

Blythe do not come on BJD bodies. The fakies have a (fake) Azone jointed body. Replacement of a stock doll body would include Azone or Obitsu. Some have used Licca bodies. It’s definitely a process to find one that you like that works. More recently more customizers are using the obitsu which can be stabilized to help support that big, beautiful Blythe head 😆

Hello I am the same age as Blythe and just started getting them I have a factory one on her way going to make her a blond Goth. Here in the UK it was all about Sindy as Barbie was considered a harlot.
