The botanical name for Mountain Hydrangea is H. Serrata. Mountain hydrangeas look very similar and are closely related to Hydrangea macrophylla, as both have lacecap flowers. Kerria japonica is a deciduous shrub in the Rosaceae (rose) family. It has upright, arching, slender stems that form a broad, dense, twiggy mass, ranging from three to six feet tall and wide.
