Amerigrade Grinder
We have recently upgraded to an Ameribrade grinder and we couldn’t be happier with it! Very pleased with the quality and set up of this 2” x 72” grinder.
Check out Eric & Keven’s story at Ameribrade.com and when you’re ready to buy they’ll hook you up.

It’s not that hard to build your own 2” x 72” grinder.

Making knives was a hobby for me that quickly became a passion and I needed something to make the process of making knives faster. So I made my own grinder. It has served me well! You can make your own too.

What is that black resin?
Black dye for resin mixed in with the resin.
Awesome. Thanks for the info and glad to see ya getting to upgrade.
Ok so I am not firmilar with this process. What are you doing to the leather? In dummy terms please lol
Hey, so I have prepped the leather and it’s dried a bit. Now I’m just putting a simple design on it with a tool.
Cool
Have you considered doing longer videos or compilation videos of each step start to finish on a project like this. I would love to watch like a 15 to 30 min video of the entire process.
Yes, I’m working in that direction. The editing process is very long and time is definitely an issue. But we’re getting there. Soon.
@shanemeadows8269 that's awesome. Editing is time consuming and can be frustrating. Hopefully it works out for you and maybe even generates some income to help out
Can't wait to see the finished product
That sheath is looking 👍 ❤
@@sandrablancarte9693 , thank you!
Beautiful work!
Very nice! Side note I really like your press I saw in a recent video. Looks like there is some mountaineer engineering involved.
Yes sir, i couldn’t really afford to buy a new one so I built one. Actually that is the second one I’ve built. Thank you
I completely understand that. Keep up the beautiful work.
Did you use salt water?
@@shadetreeforging , yes. Works well!
@@WvCutlery are you from Wv?
How did it turn out?
It was hot enough. Quenching with heat higher than necessary causes warping and other failures.
Men will see this and go hell yeah
I’m don’t know much about knife making but are you sure that was a hot enough quench? As I said I don’t know much and what I’ve seen may be over dramatized.
Do not worry I have quenched at that heat and I has turned out fine
Alright 👍
All you need is the material to get hot enough that a magnet won't stick to it. Any hotter can cause the metal to stress, which can cause internal fractures or warping. Atleast thats what I have gathered from my personal experience.
Sick. How’d you get the scorpion into the Damascus?
@@matthewHizzle , we etch it in. Check out some of our other videos. It gives details.
That's nice! Is that Nickelback playing in the background?
That’s a country station playing.
I don't see etching.
He put it in acid, the acid etches the steel
I couldn’t get the blade to stop moving, gotta look close to see it. There’ll be more video of this blade. Keep watching, it turns out kinda nice.
Omg😮
Ty.
This are sick
80CRv2 high carbon steel from NJSBARON.
I love the skillet background music.

I wish i could sell a few of my knives i stopped making my content cause i wasnt gettin enough subs or views
Beautiful
Bad ass good job❤
Make one for me?
This needs more views 😎
Also a shoe horn! 😂
What do you use to etch?
Ferric chloride, 4 to 1 ratio. I use distilled water to dilute. Thank you for the question.
Sick
wow
A knife, would be my guess.
Noise with a hammer😅
Sword
Nice blade man, love the shape🎉
Thanks 👍
Is that hot enough 🧐 to make it harden. The color is what I've been told to look for the quench. Nice blade I'll say that good job on the design 👊🏼
Plenty hot enough, it was definitely non magnetic.
Man I was hoping for a steezus edit
Good song for this
Great display of patience, love it!
Inventory!🔥
Can’t go wrong with Iron wood.
Hot steel coming through.
👊
Now that is a good technique! Super steady!!
