Really like the DIY Garlic Dibber you made ... pretty cool ! We use ground up leaves from our Maple trees for the mulch and then we cover it with a piece of the Orange Snow Fence to hold it in place from the winter winds.

That’s a great idea with the snow fence! I currently have pieces of lattice over mine. The squirrels keep digging in it. Haha.

Wow! I had no idea how long peat takes to form. Definitely worth switching to another growing medium. #LearningNewThingsEveryday !

Good video, and thanks for commenting on my channel. I would like to beg people who use peat to look into how devastating it is for the environment. It takes 2000 years to create a peat bog, and the actual harvesting of it releases a ton of CO, CO2, NO and CH4, all very bad greenhouse gases. I don't want to stand on my soapbox and preach though, the rest of the video is really good, and I appreciate you talking about how coconut coir can be superior to peat. I also love the message here, getting people growing more of their own food, and reducing the carbon impact of the food chain. Big thumbs up, and subscribed. Let's build an army of new growers together!

Thank you! I wasn't sure how much to elaborate on the fact that peat is a non-renewable resource. I'd learnt a bit about its issues back in school so I had read a few views on that matter. Do you think we have enough desalinized coir to replace the amount of peat we currently use? I honestly have no idea. I thought i'd just mention that it's an issue and just let the viewer look into it if they wish. Maybe this was the wrong approach. To be honest I was kind of expecting a comment about peat.
