Back to the future might be a good series to do some retrospectives on
Great video
There are so many scenes I like in this movie, but I really enjoy art eating their food lols. Great channel!
He eats everything in the fridge. lol
Great film, very underrated. I have it on VHS.
28 years! Also love your channel, great commentary nice n chill. I like 28 days more than weeks, however that being said 28 weeks has different things going for it that make it interesting. But yeah I agree 28 days has a more natural pacing and interweaves themes between the overarching plot. I'm trying to elaborate but I don't know how to express my ideas lol
Appreciate that! Days have more of a documentary feel, and weeks has more of a Hollywood feel. Both work well, but I prefer Days as well.
*subscribed*
Appreciate it!
Did the cat in the hat movie and this one share a neighborhood to shoot in?
One thing I always liked was how Edward doesn't touch Kim's hair. There's a metaphor there. But also he taught her that different is better and worth fighting for. This movie says a lot on many levels and of course the visuals are just wonderful😍
Good observation!
Hey kids look! A deer! 🖕🏼 😂 classic movie
LOL!!!
The Blessing!!!!
I'm also from Missouri! The commentary on the balls floating away in that Christmas parade was amazing!! WEOWEEE
Missouri? Whoa!!
Great movie, Jeremy Reiner & the Aussie girl had great chemistry, she played the military doctor
FYI the shot of the flowers is a rose farm: it's such a beautiful shot
Thanks for the info! Love that shot!
@@blabbercast I even thought that single shot the frame looked hand painted...is there anyway of knowing that?
@@GoliathSparrow-y5g Can't find anything on it. Maybe one of the people in the credits who worked on the art would answer a Twitter message?
@blabbercast good idea
@blabbercast thanks for looking...it was like you said a rest for the audience and actors _ as well as the horse scene cause scared the shit out of me still does
Man, it would have been so weird to have the Goose in Jim's role. Big fan of his, but glad that it ultimately went to Cillian.
One of Depps best movies in my opinion
Agreed. This and Secret Window are really chill to watch anytime.
Just stumbled upon you guys and was so pleasantly surprised! You guys are funny and I love hearing your commentary on these films and their production! Keep up the good work, can’t wait to see you guys grow
Awesome! Thank you so much! We always feel so meh about what we put out, but we have fun. Two friends talking movies. Merry Christmas to you!
This movie looks better than the digital bullshit shot today. They’re still softening the image to hide terrible overuse of cgi and to add a soft filter on aging actors or imperfections on younger actors. It’s hideous. The digital movies today are inferior to film.
100% agree. I hate the over-processed look.
We now got 28 years next year
Ebola virus is stupid not effective influenza or flu would be more effective without killing host
Maybe contrarian but the Interview With a Vampire TV show is amazing. Don’t expect it to be the book but it does feel true to the spirit of the book. Moreso than the Queen of the Damned movie.
I genuinely don’t understand how the views are not way higher for this show.
I appreciate that! I'm not sure. The channel could be shadow-banned. It could be that we do a podcast-style rather than an essay-style video. We may just suck! LOL!
I can guarantee you that not a single British actor in this film gave a flying fuvk regarding 9/11
This film shouldn't have worked. The budget was small. The actors apart from gleeson were still fairly small time at this point. Danny Boyle had never directed horror, he had football factory under his belt so clearly competent but horror is different. It needed whole sections of one of the most busy cities in the western world to look quiet. So many locations for such a small budget. Camera quality is intentionally poor. And yet.... and yet.... it is one of the best horror movies made without a doubt.
Great points. Amazing, they pulled it off and made it so good.
Diggin the cult vibe like resident evil 4 type of vibe. Also fun fact the movie is made all by an iphone15
I always wanted to see RE4 as a movie. Good catch on that vibe!
Only some shots are with the iPhone 15. However, yes, they did use an iPhone 15 for some scenes.
Return of the Living Dead had running "zombies" back in 1984.
1986*
All of the movies were solid in my opinion
I agree
You can also see that some of this footage is recounting the initial outbreak, as TeleTubbies is playing on TV (at first I assumed were just re-runs because no one would make new media during a zombie apocalypse, but you'd need something to watch during the restoration phase) but I'm fairly certain the scene with the church and "fodder" is the same church and priest Cillian Murphy's character initially comes upon and subsequently attacked by in the first movie. Now we have to question if the flashbacks are merely flashbacks for the sake of exposition or if these are the memories of someone. They could be the memories of someone older, but given that the trailer opens on children, it's most likely the one of these and this could very well be their saga, if not the story for several of them. If you'll note, the crying woman & children are a very blonde haired group and you later see a very blonde haired man in military garb with a rifle who looks to be about late 20s/early 30s. The man & boy are probably father & son; the boy is the same age his father was when his father experienced the first outbreak and now he has a son experiencing it too. The first movie does kind of end on the positive notion of being able to create a "family" and new life for themselves, the second movie gets pretty twisted with the family unit, so maybe the 3rd one will find a new way to deconstruct/analyze familial identities. I wouldn't be surprised if the big grey guy is called or considered "Father" by his group/some sort of cult.
Well said bro! I thought there were a lot of cools shots!
Me and my friend analysed the church scene from the trailer and from the original in 28 Days and concluded that its not the same church. This one is more of a chapel, and is more likely to be in rural England.
I figured the zombies would have all starved off and humanity didn't have the numbers to sustain the zombie population for 3 decades (zombies only "reproduce" by converting humans and humans would have to suspend their own reproduction with zombies running around the planet), so I was beginning to fret a few of those zombies I saw were some sort of "new government super-mutant experiment in addition to our old government zombie experiment" plot-line (the old, buff, grey thing seemingly larger than humans)...looks like they've already got the "post-apocalyptic factions/cults" trope (scene with mask, skull pyramid, gated villagers & outside cults)...but it dawned on me that maybe somehow the virus/zombies are capable of going into hibernation. I'd like to see lore like that rather than cliche zombie/survival/apocalypse cliches. Be cool if the previously dead & buried rose back from their graves (brief forest scene with over the shoulder shot of muddy/dirty character). Would explain the theory as to why some people think that one zombie is Cillian Murphy's character...like he was zombified & buried long ago in that field shortly after the first movie and has been there ever since. Villages that have rebuilt on burial grounds. Virus goes through a contagion stage, dormant stage, comes back to life. Years, decades, maybe even longer. I dunno, guess we'll see when it comes out.
I think that introducing evolved infected is absolutely the right step to go in and it's something they've already done in the past. Don from 28 Weeks Later was intelligent enough to stalk his prey and avoid the bombing. I can't wait to see what Danny and Alex have cooked up. It'll be really interesting to see why the military is present in Britain, perhaps they're looking for immune individuals so that they can develop a cure without realizing that the infected have evolved. I believe that Paris most likely got nuked after the ending we saw in 28 Weeks Later, NATO has already shown that their response is to eradicate any trace of the virus. It's also very nice that they've already wrapped up the filming for the sequel so that we don't have to wait like half a decade for it to be released.
They did a good job with the trailer. Usually you can watch a trailer and then not have to see them film, as they've already shown you all the key points.
If you didn't know the audio is the poem Boots by Rudyard Kipling.
I didn't know that until I saw Drinker's vid. That was a good choice. Also, I agree this trailer did a good job of not showing everything. Boyle knows what he is doing.
Directo: “ok, Now you have to cry!!!” Actor: “why?! Why?! I haven’t even read the script, what’s my motivation?.” This was hilarious 😆😆😆😆
a pick from my high school days! hey if you take suggestions, mine is Mandy (2018) with Nic Cage.
Mandy was awesome. Classic Cage.
One of the biggest missed opportunities was when they assigned Arnold a job.. They should have made him an exterminator, focus on the EX terminator part. Really would have been great double word play
Great name Cameron
One point i believe the walking dead comic came out before this movie and this movie took that hospital opening from there
I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the info!
Thats absolute tosh, 28 days came out like a year before walking dead..
28 Days Later - release 2002 Walking Dead Comic - 2003
What do you guys think about the new 28 years later teasers we've been getting? Apparently the morse code translates to "Tuesday".

@@cyrollan That's fair. I can't hate that.
Your channel is still criminally underrated and underviewed.

@@blabbercast And that's part of the charm 😂
Cameron is right again, The Dark Knight Returns animated feature is soooo goddam good!
Wow it looks really whimsical and pretty. I love the cottage
People talk about it being woke, but it's gonna make tons of $$$. If The Quartering or The Ritual Drinker don't go see it, we'll they weren't going to anyways.
It's in the hole financially, but I agree it will make money overall.
Oh no!
Great retrospective, guys. I know I'm in the minority -- but I actually always liked this one over Blade 2.
Appreciate the view! This is entertaining, for sure. It was time to play the game!!!! *spits water HHH style*
Happy Turkey Day, my fellas. Thanks for the great content 🎉
Same to you! Gobble gobble!
Yes alien 3 is better but this movie was close. Until it became member berries in the second act.
I member!!!
"Alien Romulas was a mixed bag", ~ Christopher Lee
Rook mentions that the Alien can speed up or slow down its metabolic life-cycle, due to the Prometheus Fire pathogen. Coupled with the original Alien cocooning itself in space, like other extremophiles, Fede’s pretty much explained away decades of inconsistency between films of the franchise. I liked it.
ah yes, good point! thanks!
Great catch! Appreciate the info! Good job by Fede.
I got lucky I got to see this for free a few days before it came out and won a hat. At thr screening
Good stuff!! Good to hear from you!!
If u get a chance marvel has a prequel to the movie , and shows what happened on the space station
No way really? Awesome thanks so much!!!
