Understanding scholarships in the US as an international UNDERGRADUATE student (+ a COLLEGE REVEAL!)
Hey you guys!
So, this may be my last video in a LONG while.
For those of you who are interested in scholarship opportunities in the US as aspiring undergraduate students, this video breaks down everything from important terminologies to a step-by-step walkthrough on how to find scholarships.
For Canada, unless you're asking about the Lester B. Pearson scholarship from the University of Toronto and the full merit scholarships at the University of British Columbia (like the Karen Mckellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award), I honestly don't have much to say in addition. You can watch my EducationUSA video for my brief opinion on Canadian scholarships but I sincerely applied to these two schools using my knowledge about US scholarships.
Note: There are some references in the video (like the Common App) that you may not understand but EducationUSA members did/do. My advice: Google it orrrr become an EdUSA member ;)
Also, this is a COLLEGE REVEAL video! Comment below if you want to: which school did you want me to choose? Is it the one I chose?
For context: I was accepted to 17 schools in the US on full-ride scholarships and 2 in Canada (also on full rides). These included:
Harvard, Yale, Stanford, MIT, Princeton, Duke, Brown, Johns Hopkins, Colby, Williams, Tufts, University of Virginia, WashU in St Louis, NYU Abu Dhabi, University of Rochester, Washington and Lee, Xavier University of Louisiana (US schools)
The University of Toronto, University of British Columbia (Canadian Schools)
The total worth of all scholarships offered was about $5M.
Anywayyy, thanks for reading/viewing! Feel free to ask questions in the comments!

Have you heard about EducationUSA?
มุมมอง 8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This is NOT an ad. I genuinely just think EducationUSA is an underestimated resource for many international students, particularly Nigerians because I relate most with other Nigerians. I am SOOO sorry about the poor quality of this video during the intro. I will fix that in the next video. Some Academic Advice
มุมมอง 16K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Hello! I spoke to a group of teenagers earlier this year about school and figuring out exams. I know a lot of people have been asking me questions about what I did to excel so I hope that this video helps out a little bit. It was pretty impromptu though, so please ignore the slight stuttering. You can see me speak on full screen from ~ 7:12. Ciao!

My little brother turned 6 years old two days ago on the 12th of June 2020. I didn't realize how much he had grown until I created and then played back this video. I love him to bits! Praying for an exponential increase over his life. P.S: Jojo, if you're watching this a few years from now, I still love you as much as I do now ;)

I am going with your tips and i hope i pass my exams in 2025
Hi Victory. I have a quick question and I will be so glad if you reply me cause it seems you have been inactive on youtube for a while now. So I planned on applying this year by taking the SAT in December and writing applying, but my dad told me not to rush things and that I should wait till next year. My first question is, if I had applied this year, with my little experience, in what way do you think it might have affected me? Also, I will be 19 next year, do you think it's still ok for me to apply cause I generally think most students apply at the age of 18 or better still 17, like you.
Same here...do you mind connecting? I believe having a strong community of people you can grow together with helps make the journey smoother. From application to exams, its def not gonna be easy. I'll drop my IG handle when you reply

❤❤❤❤❤Victoria Yinka Banjo I call you VYB. I have quoted many of your words. As your name implies you truly are a victor . Keep living for Christ and be his steward. You are an image to your parents and loved ones. I have watched this video 4 times and I get different meaning. I tell my mom every day that after her you are my role model. I may not exactly be like you but we have things in common. The first time I saw this video I was in SS1 but still pressured on getting 9As.😢😢 since that was the only way I could look for scholarship. But for the first time in a long time I could SLEEP. 😅😅 well I am in SS3 now hoping that my dreams for 3 years will come. Keep shinning in Jesus mighty name.
How can one effectively prepare for both the UTME and WASSCE examinations simultaneously ( especially in utilizing past questions ) because they both occur at around the same time and as well the two exams are quite different? How can I also create a study schedule that encompasses my preparation for both exams ?
Watching this in 2024, I don't know if it's because she's my namesake, but this bae's talk is so relatable. Hoping to ace my Wassce with at least 8A1s. If I do, I will definitely come here to testify. Thanks Vee❤
Hey I'm also here in 2024😂. What a coincidence? Hope you achieve all your goals for the exams😇
