Dr Jackson your mind is a gift from God I learned so much from you thank you for all that you do. I have a question and may not relate to this video but have you ever taught on how lots were cast like with the Urim and Thummim how the one lit up or illuminated when God was given a reply I find that very interesting and do not find a whole lot about it but it is from my understanding that that is the main way that lots were cast like for example whenever they picked out Solomon it was supposed to be God that illuminated it I can't remember which stone it was one or the other and that's how they knew God picked him I know one stone is supposed to be black and white Black means no white means yes and the other one illuminated if it illuminated that meant God was given the answer and if it didn't illuminate it was still the answer but it didn't mean God was giving the answer That's just what I've read and heard I was wondering if you could give more information on that if I'm wrong about something please correct me that is what I have been taught

Dear Dr. Justin, Thank you very much for your insights on the interpretations of Abraham and Lot. As a businessman, your analogy resonates deeply with me. I recall you mentioned the metaphor of two cookies in your explanation, where Abraham gives Lot the choice of which cookie to take. I would like to humbly suggest that the Bible often speaks volumes in what it does not say explicitly. In this historical account, "In your words, which cookie is bigger?" Abraham offers Lot a piece of premium land, which Lot accepts and commits to, ultimately resulting in a very limited territory. On the other hand, Abraham's "cookie" represents the rest of the world. Abraham offers Lot borders and containment, which Lot accepts, thereby containing himself. It is fascinating yet seemingly arbitrary that in a relationship, one can possess a claim on territory without having an explicit right to it. Perhaps the territories of Lot and Abraham were simply measures of faith, already predestined by God's will. Ha! Thank you once again for the enlightening discussion. I have only one complaint…I signed up for the course starting with the Bk of Genesis. I was on a page that listed the lessons with a test at the end. I have never been able to find that page. I guess I have another complaint… your videos, do not list each of your videos in order. After Genesis, it should go to the next one. I am struggling trying to find your videos in order. It is so confusing. There are other speakers but I want to continue with you.

I am a 12 year old who started my orthodox conversion process a few weeks ago, and I am interested in your genesis course. I am so thankful for Hillsdale College free courses!❤ I am your typical Christian. I was raised Southern Baptist in a Northern US state. Growing up my sister and I went to church every Sunday did Vacation Bible School in the summer Etc as a young adult I strayed away from God although I never turn totally away from him. I got wrapped up in too many bad things including an abusive marriage with children drugs alcohol promiscuity divorce Etc it was a horrible life I literally felt like I was in living hell. I was so lost. Jesus found me saved me cleaned me up and set me on a path🎉❤ still I just attended church on Sunday. Then a couple years ago for such a time as this God started preparing me for whatever it actually is that he has in store for me next. I've been praying for knowledge and wisdom since I was a teen but God did not actually begin to fulfill that request until a couple years back. When I prayed for knowledge he taught me about Israel when I prayed for wisdom he taught me about the Jewish people. It has been difficult to find good learning material that not only it breaks down the Bible in a way that I can understand it but also gives me back reference context and translation. I grew up using an in a very attached to the KJV but have recently purchased an ESV with character notes context Etc and I'm really beginning to like it. At any rate, I just wanted somewhere to put my opinion on the Hillsdale classes because I think they're absolutely fantastic🎉 what a great tool to have at our disposal🎉 I am very grateful❤ I have a college degree but I know it is the biggest mistake that I ever made in my entire life😢 my student loans have doubled since I graduated and I have never held a job using my degree for many different reasons. It's pretty pathetic actually. It has changed my entire view of being college educated. However, all of the courses I've taken and I'm signed up to take through Hillsdale are 100% completely free!❤ I've even had a couple of people contact me with extra course information. It definitely seems like they care❤ I would highly recommend anyone to take any course from Hillsdale, they're kind of like those potato chips not mentioning brand names but we all know who they are LOL😂 you can't just have one❤
