Kinda weird that I love this movie so much since snakes are my biggest fear!
Priceless
"You wish to be anonymous?" Page 9.
I know why you don’t because you haven’t got it in you a guy that can’t take it can’t give it and that’s you. You prove that ever since you got tripped up by a little bit of success why are you not even on the same level with yourself you’re always acting. Well, one of your audience is walking out on your right now and that’s me. You’re staying right here until the show opens. That’s what you think. OK hey you come back here. Yes man says no.
Say where do you get off to talk to me like this? I’m wise to you. You’re too smart. That was very clever the way you got the story mixed up this morning as you put me in a bad light with Matthews and Claire then you take her out to lunch and do a little chiseling it’s too bad about King isn’t it now if I was in his shoes, I don’t know why I don’t take a poke at you
Don’t be silly King I know how you feel about Claire. You know I wouldn’t double cross you anymore than you double crossed me. What did Claire say about me? We didn’t discuss you. What did you talk about, the weather? I know you’ve got a hangover and you’re nervous and jumpy about the show and you’re letting off steam on somebody but please don’t say anything we might both regret. Oh, you’re getting sensitive aren’t you? Not a bit getting a little fed up with the way you’re acting if that’s what you mean oh pardon me I’m only leading man on the show.
Wonderful.
Alice the voice 😂
An unforgettable moment from Ernst Lubitsch's "Merry Widow" from 1934, when Hollywood's Legendary Romance was in Flower. So sad that Hollywood no longer makes movies like this any more.
❤ 😊
Great swing version of Jingle Bells by Woody Herman band. Thanks for posting!
Dick Powell. The beautiful black actress is Teresa Harris. She played good friends to Jean Harlow in Hold your Man, best friend to Barbara Stanwyck in Babyface. She was a featured dancer in many movies. I think she should have had a better career but seems the Hayes code. Stopped a lot of it.
JAMES THURBER & Elliot Nugent.

Did I see Ginger Roger’s in this as well?
Yes, she's "Annie" in this movie
@@MegBobergMKB ah yes, I first saw this film at the National Film Theatre in London in about 1965, I was obviously a weird teenager 🤣. It was always good to go there as everyone cheered in all the right places.
Absolutely one of the most stunning things I've seen in any movies, ever! I just saw the movie for the first time an hour ago and am just blown away.
beautiful perfect voice for the dong 3:12 ❤
What happened to drunken rapists after double wedding
Pretty racy for 1933.
Love the extra high wasted trousers and short braces, very cool
Funniest twist ever
The boing boing boing 😂😂😂👍👍👍👍what wonderful memories on Happy times...
“Oh well now you’re upset😢 “
This is the creepiest thing I've seen this year.
"I fell in love with you, which wasn't in the cards!" Just flawless perfection!
This has to be the most romantic scene ever filmed! The dialogue and music blend together flawlessly. "What I see inside I'll never be able to cast into words..."
So. Did they pick this up from Gene Kelly, or, vice versa. Far as i know, Gene did it, first.
I wanna say it was these guys first. As it was in the 30's, and when Mr. Kelly did it, it was in color. That doesn't mean it's newer, but maybe...I'm looking it up! I'm back- if I think you mean that scene Mr. Kelly did, it was in 1955. So, it was this pair ❤
@@Linasosa1999 Ok, jeez, duh, that sounds logical😂😂. Thanx a bunch!!😊👌🏾👍🏽👌🏾😊
@@Mickkie haha, no problem dude! I'm a film geek 🤓
@@Linasosa1999👌🏾Ok, ok, nice!👌🏾 I think i wasn't really focusing on or, paying attention to what i was reading, when i googled it. More like, a quick scan. But that's cool, thanks for the update, it's appreciated!👍🏽By the by, i'm Female😂😭😭. Nickname is Mickkie But i'm cool with it!😂👌🏽👍🏽😂
Every time I watch this scene, I always wonder how these two felt about each other having both "shared" John Gilbert.
Muy hermosa película.
Ive been searching for this scene all over the place. Thank you!! Love it so much. But also, now, as an adult, im just like, "were olives free back then?!" 😅😅
Check out my re-enactment of this hilarious tune sung by the talented Eddie Cantor! th-cam.com/video/6T8Uwopv8yE/w-d-xo.html
Esta película es exquisita. Me gustaría verla completa lo antes posible.

This was the first Katharine Hepburn movie I ever saw and for years I didn't want to watch another just to preserve her as Susan in my head aha. I eventually caved and watched The African Queen
So where is the big tap dancing scene? I'll just have to go back to watching Triumph des Willens.
This is amazing. Influenced by Leni Riefenstahl?
This is one of Harold Spina’s best songs
Kelton is a hoot, quite a babe before she was a wise cracking gran, and the original Alice Kramden
Nobody moved like Fred Astaire.
In the same year, George Murphy danced with Eleanor Powell and Lana Turner . I thought Lana Turner made a better partner.
Love her
Thank you
Hella forgotten
Plus if you think about all of this through the lens of illumination: were Tom & Gerry [and I don't think that name combination was random!] REALLY married at all? If you get married based on a marriage license made out and issued to 2 different people, is that legal? Just sayin'
Okay, so once you've seen the final 90 seconds of the film, this kinda makes sense. But how well (if AT ALL) that worked back in the day --- when there was no rewind or watch the DVD again from the beginning --- I've always wondered. How many movietheatergoers would have remembered exactly what the heck they saw in the opening minute, even after the Big Reveal? Or maybe this was the 1942 version of The Sixth Sense: make you go back and (pay to!) see it again, just to see if you could figure it out w. more information (??). Plus: Why does the maid drop like a felled tree? Surely she would have known that the 2 principals were both twins! She might have been surprised, or shocked, to see the 'wrong' siblings in wedding attire, but stunned into unconsciousness ??? Having said all that: this is a GREAT movie. Classic!
I know it's not important since the film is in B&W, but I'd like to know the color of Miss Dale's dress in this number. Did they go with a Christmas Red, or perhaps black to blend well with Astaire's tails? Or not even bother, and simply choose a color that would show up well on film? Any designers or costumers out there willing to take a shot and come up with an answer? Side question: Has this film ever been colorized?
