Chunky Puffin Sea Fishing
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 14 พ.ค. 2020
Hello and Welcome to the Chunky Puffin.... The home of Sib Sea Fishing adventures with my friends! Travelling close inshore to nearly 8 miles out offshore wrecking and reef fishing, my humble sib goes everywhere. It may not be the biggest boat, but its quick and stable and provides a great platform for my fishing adventures.. Whether its Cod, Pollock, Bass, Beam or Rays, I will catch them and show you how you can too and on this journey, we meet many other Sib friends to have adventures with! But be warned... its addictive!
Going Deep - the turbot hunt!
Disclaimer... No turbot were hurt in the making of this film. Literally!!
Featuring my good friend Nick Coster. We decided to go deep on the hunt for Turbot. Although we didnt catch Turbot, we were not short of catching! Bass, Greater Weever, Cuttlefish and the ususal suspects.. Good fun day. Perfect weather!
Enjoy!

How to find fishing marks using Navionics - the update
มุมมอง 1.9Kปีที่แล้ว
This is a continuation of my previous Navionics film where I started to introduce how to find your fishing marks using the Navionics App. Navionics is my go to app for all my navigation and relief shading. Hopefully this will help show you how to find new marks. This is pretty much what I look for each time I go out fishing new ground. #smallboatfishing #fishing #fishingtips #fishingtips #seafi...
Alberto or Albright knot? Flurocarbon to Braid
มุมมอง 645ปีที่แล้ว
Im continuing my quest to find the perfect knot! Well, as you all know, there isnt one. Every type of line requires a different type of knot and this film shows why. In this film, I deceided to test the infamous Albright knot versus the Alberto knot. Both knots are very similar, but the smal differences make a huge impact. I am using my favourite line, the Red Seaguar 20lb Flurocarbon to 40lb J...
Deep Sea Wrecking for Pollock - Andy's Day
มุมมอง 544ปีที่แล้ว
In this episode, I headed out with Andy in search of Pollock in the Deep Sea Wrecks. Finally with a break in the weather, we could explore for the big Pollock. This episode was bittersweet. Incredible moments, suprises and of lots of gear lost. But Andy did end up with an incredible monster pollock, but that was just before the boat went wrong! There are some days that are just meant to be your...
Dolphins in Brighton!!!!
มุมมอง 490ปีที่แล้ว
Forgive my excitement but this was an amazing event! We came across a pod of Dolphins who were just playing!! I occasionally see them, but never in these numbers or so playful! You could literally touch them! Definitely the most magical experience yet!
How strong is the fisherman's/ clinch knot? You may be surprised!
มุมมอง 682 ปีที่แล้ว
I have been waiting for a while to do this film. I have been fascinated by finding out that it makes a huge difference what type of knot you use with what type of line. Some knots just are not strong enough. In this flim, I am testing the fishermans or clinch knot. A very common knot fisherman use to attach line to a swivel or a hook. Its the most basic of all knots and we should expect it to b...
How to attach braid to mono line - The amazing FG Knot!
มุมมอง 2412 ปีที่แล้ว
One of the biggest challenges is attaching braid to mono. I have used the albright knot and alberto knot for years, but always found that the line breaks off really easily. This year I discovered the FG knot, possibly the best knot I have every used and it has completely revolutionised my fishing. The most important thing is that it retains 100% of its breaking strain. In this video, I tell you...
Sub Zero Winter Fishing - The Ususal Suspects
มุมมอง 2.6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Possibly the most crazy thing to do on a freezing December day is to go fishing when its -4 outside, but we put our big boy pants on for a Cod adventure. Sadly, no cod were found.. The unicorns still proving illusive, but we were completely gobsmacked by the amount of bass there were! Huge schools of bass from the sea floor to the surface. Either, they were mating or on the feed, but they were ...
Autumn Squid Fishing of the Sussex Coast - who, what, how and why!
มุมมอง 3.4K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Squid fishing has recently started to become very popular. In fact 3/4 years ago, not many people did it in the UK, but everyone wondered why their baits were being demolished.. Well with the popularity of Squid fishing growing, I have had questions asking me how to squid fish, where do I go, what jigs do I use and what do you do. Well.. Squid fishing is super easy, but there are a few things y...
Cod & Bass Fest off Eastbourne & Seaford
มุมมอง 2.7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Out on my faithful Harbour Rat with my good friend Steve in search of some unicorn action... We were not disappointed! Straight into some whoppers.. The day was full of Cod, Bass, Jumbo MAckerel, Bream & Cuttlefish... Almost the perfect day! Here is a few clips from the day...I hope you enjoy it!
Offshore Brighton Windfarm - Catching big Tope!
มุมมอง 1.8K2 ปีที่แล้ว
A crazy day on board the Harry Paye with thanks to Andy for inviting me. What started out an ideal day, with perfect Big tides, and big plans for Turbot, our plans quickly changed when we realised the tope were out in force.. Big bites and big runs.. Not the longest video, but hopefully an enjoyable one watching us catch the UK's most notorious shark species, the Tope!
Offshore Fishing for big Tope, Rays, Cod and giant Plaice
มุมมอง 4002 ปีที่แล้ว
Another First Person View Video of my adventure with Nick Coster, local Fishing legend off Newhaven. Nick is a top angler and has increadible local knowledge, so I was absolutely honoured to have him on board teaching me how to catch big fish! And Big fish he did! Nick caught a beast of a tope... circa 40lb, then caught a mahooosive 4lb plaice. I mean this thing was like a dustbin lid.. Nick ca...

Hi from Sochi😁 how are you think, this navionics can be installed in garmin 84.. Sorry for my inglish😅😅
Great video thank you
asia không được bạn tôi😢😢
أحبك أنت وناڤيونيكس شكراً لك يا رجل على هذا التوضيح
Thanks for sharing.
Good video! On my map it often shows the depth number with another number under it and to the right. For example, it might say 22/5 Can you tell me what the second number means please? I’m assuming it’s the amount of tidal movement but I could be wrong :/
That looks great but mine doesn't show the peaks like yours does. The lakes I use shows that relief Shading is available on my chart. Are you using the sonar settings also. I haven't put my boat in the water since installing. I'm looking at Rodman Reservoir and Georgia's Lake and neither looks near as good as yours.
Why do you not dispatch them?
Very detailed video👌 hope you continue to catch lots of fish
Very informative content
Amazing info hand for taking the time to make this …!
Very useful thanks for sharing
How much is the full navionics package now 2024 .me just bought ridgiflex 400 delux would love to spend my retirement offshore North East England. Tia for any advice.
Nice days fishing. Looked like you had several lures on your line. I am a beginner to boat fishing so wondering if you can you give any more details on how you had yours set up and the lures you were using ? Do you find this set up to work well ? Many thanks for any help you can give. Tight lines
brilliant knot which I use. When having to re tie during a session, I put the end of the braid in my teeth and let the weight of the rod give me the tension to tie it. I tend to do 4 half hitches (in alternative directions) just to be sure.
Thanks for this video and very helpful as just starting out fishing from a boat in Plymouth.
Thanks for sharing this video. Just getting in to fishing for these so very helpful. Can you give me the name of those jigs you kept mentioning ? What type of ground do you find them over (boat fishing) and do you have any screen shots of what squid look like on the finder so I know what to look for ? Many thanks and tight lines
Not much good if not that accurate on wrecks bit of a gimmick
Good work. That swell made me sea sick just watching
Hello. What is best way to transfer gps coordinates from a laptop into a NAvionics card installed on a fish finder installed on boat?
👍🛟⚓️-The Puffin is back with Nice videos👍❤️
Will navionics relief shadow show details of wreck cave platue hills andnal kind of structure far out in offshore deep sea salt water in depth above 800 feet ?
This is a very good question. Honestly I am not sure if it will give that much detail for 800 feet. The greater the depth. The less detail you have. However 100m is still very clear
Hello dear captain. I appreciate your video because I need some advice from you before to applicate for navionics app. 1. What brand (iphone/androit) and model of cellular is the best if someone won't to aplicate for navionics as his for fishing ? 2. Must I download a particular navionics app for fishing ? 3. How much do an avionics app for fishing cost today august 2023..
Good question! I have the latest model iPad and iPhone (14). It works well on both. 2. There is only one navionics app that I know of. 3. Not sure of the cost. Check the App Store!
@ChunkyPuffinSeaFishing meanwhile, I did get in contact with navionics because the image of the bottom structure of relief shading is midday posible as the image is totally blurred image.. Waiting for them to attend it. I did pay 29.90 for it they told me that that is the cost to get the app Till what depth maximum did you use yours with good depth structure shade ?
Hello. What app version do you have? Is it premium plus? How do I transfer marks from the app onto the fish finder? Cameron
Hi Cameron, certain fish finders have a ‘navionics card’ which allows you to transfer the data across. But to be honest, I just use my phone and iPad on the boat for the navigation and my fish Finder is separate.
@@ChunkyPuffinSeaFishing thanks. That’s a great idea. I’ll do that too😎
How deep will it show detail will it show details of wrecks far out to sea and in really deep waters
Will navionics relief shadow show details of wreck cave platue with hills far out in offshore deep sea salt water in depth above 800 feet ?
It's great,, very beautiful and very clear, I can see the reef and the depth, I also want to have the navionics app,, I hope you can help me, I don't have enough questions I hope how to download it
Great video and explanation 👏👏🥇 anyone know which one to pick up because so many options making confusing
Which ones are boulders in that relief shading view ? For spearfishing I'm asking
Повезло снимавшему это чудо,не каждый день такое бывает
its really good until something goes wrong,i use my iphone and ipad which for 2 years have been spot on until now as they wont update,i cannot get in touch with anyone at all about this problem, great vid though
That Steve Hanks is always the one to watch! Well done Steve!… Those Manx Belle tee shirts are treasured! B🤓
Well done Tim … great catch!
Could only wish for somthibg like on the yak. ❤😊 lovely stuff. New sub from me in jersey bud
wow. January regards 😯
Hi, what is the phone holder you're using please?
Hi Mark, I use the railblaza set up.. a railblaza port and railblaza attachment.
@Chunky Puffin Sea Fishing i didn't look like the railblaza thats why I asked, looked like a flexible arm clamped onto the seat. Is the arm also railblaza?
@@markwalters8745 oh! Yes that! I thought you were referring to the GoPro mounting. The clamp and holder was just an Amazon special. It is a flexible arm with clamp gopro holder. Just a cheap arm from Amazon, but I changed the mount to iPhone rather than GoPro ..
@Chunky Puffin Sea Fishing I'll take a look, looks perfect for the sib seat for getting catch pics, thanks.
Good information kev
Thanks Mark!! ❤
What kind of gadget that sir?
Hi Rowena, this is Navionics, an app you can get on your iPhone or tablet. 😊
How did you install your rib ports on the tubes mate?
Hi Manx, I glued them on using a two part poxy adhesive for pvc..
Those aren’t scabs on it, that’s from the pressure change of it coming up from depth!
Well spotted. Blisters.. initially we thought it was scabs, but you are right. They were depth blisters.. we were fishing 68 metres! Fairly deep!
Yes i realised that afterwards too
Great Experience!.Looks like Common Dolphin species❤👍
I wondered what species of Dolphin they were! They were super playful!
@@ChunkyPuffinSeaFishing I have s book with all whale species
Never mind Kev we'll have better days :) I did enjoy catching that pollack and on my scales was 10 lb 3, but thats fishermen for you :) Diesel leak attracted the fish! Luckily an easy fix where i just pinched the fuel filter rubber when changing it. Shame the next 5 wrecks were crap...
You hard a fish playd it relly hard snap your line said u just reeling in haha 😄
Haha! True! 😂
@Chunky Puffin Sea Fishing 😄 I probably do the same haha 😄 he look big to
Well done Andy a very nice pollock.👍🏻👍🏻
Good vid kev😎🎣
Thanks Mark!
What time of the year they came? Was it now? Great spectacle 👍
It was yesterday I saw them!
Interesting 👍not a fan of the stuff tbh it takes far too long to break down if itr snaps off leaving more waste in the sea
Yes true.. I used to use it religiously. But I must be honest, after this test.. I’ll never be going back.
@@ChunkyPuffinSeaFishing Its all trial and error, but so glad you done that video it surprised me a lot. Lovin the channel all the best, be lucky and tight lines my friend.
Thanks Stevie! Very much appreciated! 😃
Wow!
Imagine how the driver reacted😂😂
OMG
Nice to go out at Sea-and also have a warm cabin to go inside for a break and when heading back after a Long day on the water🛟⚓️
Tell me about it! The Lochin is a stunning boat. Super cabin and incredibly sea capable. Certainly can cope with far more than we could endure!
Looks really Nice-then it is a pleasure with the winters Cod and Herring Season⚓️🛟🍀.
If only the video showed the polar bears and icebergs we could all see how cold it was😀
Very True Andy! I think my bones are still chattering 😂
Well done chaps
