    Hi , thanks for video . What’s your views on vents in the floors as well as ceilings in a mobile home ? I want to seal up this vent on floor as I’m convinced it’s reason for my mattress being damp .

    Do dehumifers and air purfier both kill mold spores and mold I have mold in my bedroom and I use dehumifers and I have plug in air purfier also do they both work and are they both worth using

      @HNKirklees 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Tara - In answer to your question, no dehumidifiers and purifiers don’t kill mould spores, they help in reducing the amount of moisture within the air which then in turn should prevent condensation forming, or at least reduce the amount. If mould spores are present then dependant on amount I would recommend this be raised as a repair, if it is only a very small amount and caught early then any standard mould spray would work. Remember it is mould season and isn’t unusual to experience condensation and mould at this time of year

    I've had a problem with damp then mould and two really cold bedrooms for quite a number of years now, the rest of the house is fine. The house is 25 years old and for the first 15 + years we had no problem but now the rooms are freezing and clothing damp in cupboards. We also have a damp smell. Over the years I have had a variety of different experts in. 1. Window man in ...he sealed up all the window vents. 2. Another window man come....he put new vents in and new rubbers and hinges on PVC windows 3. Plumber come took out radiators and put extra large ones in. 4. Bought an extremely expensive dehumidifier, it fills to top once a week. 5. Had more insulation put in the loft 6. Had the Cavity Wall Insulation Polystyrene Beads put in. 7. Had new windows put in. 8. Had a system put up in attic that is suppose to circulate air. 9. Bought wardrobe heaters which nearly burned the bloody house down. ( please do not buy these, they are very, very dangerous) Now I am having the shower taken down in the bathroom (which is next to these two bedrooms) because the plumber says he thinks there's a leak. Will someone, for the love of all the is holy, tell me what the hell else I can do?

      Ellen Ruddy think you have water getting in somewhere maybe roof or pipe broken in wall,something causing extreme cold in rooms,your shower wouldn't cause it if window open and fan on and you dry walls with towel after shower,

    This must be a more serious issue in wetter countries. Leaving a bathroom window open could be an invitation to get burgled or raped, depending on where you live. Better to properly upgrade moisture fans, especially those that draw air outside the household.

    I'm getting condensation in my room because it's winter and my bed it a little wet so I buying another bed but can someone help I don't want my new bed ruined

    • @HNKirklees
      @HNKirklees 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Victoria, try leaving your window a jar at night, (some times through the day too) and moving your bed away from the wall? Key is to let air circulate, avoid sealing in the condensation from your breath. You may also find walls that are outside facing are colder and water condenses on them. If you can position your bed nr the inside walls. RB

    Or fit a positive pressure ventilation system. That's just a "big fan" (very simply put!) in the upstairs ceiling pushing fresh loft Air into the house. (Lofts are usually quite well ventilated or draughty. If yours isn't, it's no big deal to ventilate it Best unit is Nuaire Drimaster (with Heat optional) 2016 models have 7 years warranty. And no, I don't work for them! Google "Positive Ventilation Unit Drimaster" for info. Best £330 I ever spent!! No damp or condensation. In two days all smell gone. Fresher feeling Air too, in the house.

      jemma richardson sorry to hear that. I got mine from these guys. Get the one the shown with the Heater option. It warms the air up A LITTLE BIT. But still better than cold air from attic. I set fan speed on mine at level 5 (out of highest setting of 8) for first 4 days. Then left it on 3. You can turn the heater off in the summer too. It's a little colder upstairs first few days. But worth it to get the damp gone!! I've. Ow got dry cupboards and clothes that don't get mouldy in there!! Good luck. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122340180247
