1 Year with the Destination E | Electric Bike Rack by Hollywood Racks (2023)
What's good? What's bad? What are the best upgrades? How does it stack up against the competition? My honest opinion after over a year owning the Hollywood Racks Destination E, a bike rack designed specifically for ebikes up to 70 lbs. each.

A quick walkthrough of how I installed an old Tile Bluetooth tracker into a Logitech Harmony remote. Now the remote's battery can power the tracker indefinitely instead of the built-in Tile battery, which is "non-replaceable." This should work with any tracking device and any remote, assuming the device fits in the remote and the connections points are accessible. 0:00:00 Introduction 0:01:44 R...

I used my brand new destination e rack over the holidays on a trip from DFW to South Padre island. I loaded two Lectric XP 2.0 bikes which weigh 64lns each, the rack is rated at 140lbs. The main frame bar bent just above where the bar attaches to the platform. I contacted etrailer, the retailer I purchased from. They are sending me a whole new rack, which seems like good customer service. But Im concerned it will happen again. Does anyone have thoughts on this?

Your video sold me. Not esthetically pleasing as the Duat and Thule, just solid and practical. Like the ramp without extra cost.

Second time posting: you will hate this rack in short order. Flimsy, hard to secure bikes, lots of sway and wobble.

This a really helpful video. Thank you for posting!. I am trying to replicate your steps. Really stupid question but do b and c connect to the back of radio? F and A connect to wiring clips in factory installations?

Great job. I watched your videos a couple of times before I bought this rack. I also bought the lights kit except for the license plate holder and light. Hoping I won't need to put this on. Thanks again.

I have the older style Hollywood Sportrider eBike rack and it also wobbles a bit when driving. This one looks even worse and also is more time consuming to secure bikes than mine. I would look at Thule at this price range.

Great video! I never comment but felt I had to. I spent quite a bit of time reading about all the racks you compared to and it helped me settle on the best rack. I never realized how bad the lights and LP are obscured. That will probably be my side project.

Very well done! What is the best way to ask you some more questions? I have two Lectric eBikes weighing 64 pounds each and Toyota FJ Cruiser with a rear tire mount. None of the racks you compared would seem to be compatible or anything else you can recommend?

3:47 I also bought the rack. I have safety concerns about their optional light bar not working with my Tesla Model Y. HollywoodRacks claims they can’t help with any solution and so it was returned. I’m curious if your rack’s indicator lights would solve the Tesla compatibility issue? What brand of lights are you using?

  • @blackenigma1054

Good job, although crutch field stereo makes a wiring harness so that the installer doesn’t cut up the factory wiring.

Awesome! I didn't see your summary/comparison chart the first time I skimmed the video, but I came to the same conclusions--before I showed the whole thing to the hubs. Great, honest review. We're going to replace our Sport Rider for our Rad Rover 6+s with this, partially based on your review. Thanks!

You may be able to" just lift" a 50 pound bike instead of using the ramp for the second bike, but I cant. Bought the rack to load heavy bikes.

Looks so much better. My '91 has the regular head unit with the bass/treble/balance/fade and the premium sound, but I have a NOS head unit with the equalizer waiting to be used. I bought the correct amp for it (used, but its very clean looking). I have not tested everything to see if it needs work, but I'll have that done by whoever adds Bluetooth for me. I will likely switch to Infinity Reference speakers. I'm glad to know an underseat woofer fits, since it gives me an option for an Infinity Basslink Mini re placement besides the hatch.

I’ve probably watched this vid at least 80 times and can’t for the life of me find where the wire/plug is for my doors to the dash. Previous owner hacked this thing pretty good and not just the audio system. This vid DID explain a ton on getting my fox back to factory. I’ve scoured the internet looking for clues but nada. My fox is an electrical nightmare. Any insight?

Thanks for a great video. My compliments to you for your enhancements - they're all thoughtful. I just bought this rack a couple of days ago and chose it for basically the same reasons you point out. I'm glad to hear you're happy with it after using it. One detail I also do is use the velcro hold down straps for the top bars to help hold the bar in place when the bikes are mounted. It's just a helpful way to keep the flaps from being loose and could possible help if the bar detached for some reason. Again, thanks for the informative video!
