Great job on the video, great passion for West Haven. My Grandparents Aunts and Uncles owned houses up on Josephine Ave, in the 50's and 60's. I lived in two different locations (Main Street and Captain Thomas Boulevard} before moving to New Hampshire in 1984. Sad to see how many iconic places are vacant, abandoned or have just been let go to shit. I am very glad the decision to move north came pretty much before the city went downhill. Good memories nonetheless.

Just look at the "Save our Shore" movement to save Bradley Point from development in the 70's! The beach would look very different if the development project went thru ! Thank you , to everyone who helped save Bradley Point !

My brother died on Campbell ave feb 2020 because some one put fentanyl In his drink while he was waiting for the bus, u got homeless bums at old grove park jerking off around the statue, sleeping by the restrooms, begging for money and 2 days ago Milton was taking a dump behind a bush at old grove park,needles on the green, bums openly drinking on Campbell ave across burger king, scmbag bike riders riding in the middle of the road because they have fuck shit parents that dont give a fk about what they do!! The only positive part of west Haven is my chargers!!! Yes the university of new haven!! So don't sit there and say west Haven is better than Milford or orange cause ur so full of horse shit it stinks!!!!!!!

Great video! I'm glad to see someone else express their love for the city me and my family have lived in for years.

I've lived here for about ten years or so, and to be honest, it's not really my cup of tea--way too many working-class lifers that I have nothing in common with whatsoever. They can be nice to your face, but because you're not "from here," they don't help you out the way they help out lifers. It's really not a good thing. People here aren't really used to more progressive worldviews either, and are a little bit too stuck in the past

My wife and I remember when Savin Rock was whole.

I believe “Waste Haven” started with a NH Register headline that accompanied an article was about the landfill on Spring St, which had grown into a mountain. It was used again to refer to the water treatment plant on First Avenue. Soon the name spread to refer to the whole city. Also, it’s a blue collar gown, so it’s socio-economic snobbery.

I grew up on Mohawk Dr....Seth Haley elementary, Baily's Jr High, OLOV catholic church, WHHS was the best....Lou Negri was my teacher there and my friend.....I worked at Liggett's Drug Store (soda counter) on Campbell Ave.....everyone is family!!! It was an awesome place to grow up!!! I became a traveling musician, and left behind the memories of a young life that I always brag about

Emily- What a great job! The thing I love most about West Haven is their ability to rally for anyone in need! I was born in West Haven, raised my children in West Haven and taught in West Haven for 40 years. I am proud to be a Westie!!!

Best public beaches in Connecticut, but the town only worries about the parking! Bradly Point and Savin Rock could be so much more, they should be filled with families enjoying the shore, outings, picnic's, fishing , festivals, swimming , permanent bath houses, showers, the sound is cleaner than ever! The "save Bradley Point" movement secured the "point" for future generations, it should be West Haven's Jewel !
