@precisionrangehunting there’s a new venture on the horizon and it needs a new gun. The FX Panthera will fit the bill, out the box 100 yards within 2 magazines.

Returning a butchered muntjac to a friend he very kindly let me loose on his ground for a muntjac. Stalking early summer can be difficult with the explosion of foliage, but knowing where to look helps.

FX Panthers With Home Cast Slugs (Its been a challenge).
มุมมอง 4.6Kปีที่แล้ว
I’ve struggled with my home cast slugs in the Panthera, but I’m starting to see an improvement. Consistency in the cast and a low reg pressure seems to be the key to success. The mould casts approximately 35gr slugs, but the alloy make up I’m use come in at 36gr.

We are a manufacturer of bullet presses. Our slugs press is the most perfect product on the market at present. It allows you to make air gun projectiles quickly and accurately. You can watch our videos to learn about our products. I need your contact information. I hope you can reply to me.
Hi. Where buy the press and die? Thanks

Greeatings from Portugal. I´m glad the slugs work weel. It was the only video on youtube showing the behavior of presslug slugs. Mine arrived today. I will try to make some with the lenght of the h&n 30gr. I discover the lenght is more important than the weight
👍
Hello. I just purchased a presslug. What size die do you have? Mine is .2169. I need the next size larger
I have both 216 and 217, but the 216 works will with the lead I’m using
Nice shooting
Great shooting .what ft pound are you shooting at .atb
42 flb with slugs
Hi there, On your video of shooting with the Panthera 500 sub 12. I notice that the trigger unit is set further forward than on mine. Have you moved it forward? as I have tried to unscrew the tiny hex screw but it won’t unfasten. I was therefore thinking that it was fixed in place but yours definitely looks further forward the mine.
Yes I undid the the screw and moved it forward. You may find it has locktite on it. If so heat it up with a soldering iron to break the seal. Then slide it forward
@@precisionrangehunting Thanks for your positive reply to my question. I placed a drop of WD40 on the screw just to try that and it worked. I have free travel of the trigger unit now.👍
Like your style. Subscribed
Nice to see you made the big time best of luck Mick from Springfield chickens 🐔
Mick not sure I’ve made the big time. 😂

@@precisionrangehunting Absolutely 😂
Great work amigo… but just push through those nettles , they are good to eat with your venison as well. 😂 All in fun.. good job.👍🏻
I live in America. My 700 .22 is shooting the 40gr Javelins at 1064fps. I currently have a March 8-80X-56mm scope on it. 1/8th moa clicks. Predator...
Oh, yes, 1-inch groups at 100yds.
Why do you press twice?
Tidy video bud.. The Triggercam footage looks great..
Yes great bit of kit thank you
What rifle ?
22 centre fire Sako
Some nice footage and good eating to be had 😎
Nice Tree kill lol
Fortunately it’s only a flesh wound it should recover 😂
@@precisionrangehunting LOL nice wee munty too
Good video buddy, those slug impacts dont half echo in the woods when everything is quiet! ! Hell of a crack.
Well done what fps are they doing and fpe is it putting out🤔
Nice shooting and they seems to works well...
StrelokPro will make you a card Andrew, a good starter for 10.
Your right never thought of that, I can just print it off. 👍
Hell yes , totally agree cant rock with a nice outfits and wear flip flops 🤣
What caliber is the die?
But the big question is....how are they performing?
I’ve a video to put together as yet but very accurate at 100 yards better than the FX slugs I was using
🐿💥🐿
Nice... I have 2 molds from the same Slovenian manufacturer, boat tailed slugs at 5.52 and at 5.55 and I dare to say that I also find they perform well at low speeds as well. I use the 5.55 with my LCS SK19 gun, at 858-865 f/s, the majority of cust output weights from 35.5 -36 gr, but variances start from 35-36 gr... I use pure lead 99% but I weight and group to .1 gr my slugs and lube them with Teflon oil, my barrel is a choked Lothar Walter... Can easily shoot at 150- 200 m a 10 cm target, at these speeds ballistic coefficient is about 0.15, bc factor is G7, so at 200m a slug can easily have a speed of 770 f/s, which is amazing. I use the 5.52 slugs with a brocock compatto (27 fpe, LW barrel, reg at 120 bar), Cometa orion (33 fpe, cometa cold hammered barrel) and Artemis PP750 (17.5 Fpe, reg at 150bar). The 5.52s also are weighted, lubed and sized through sizer, otherwise they might jam the barrel. The vary from 34.7-35.5 gr with majority from 35.2-35.5 gr, also shorted to .1 batches. Accurate up to 150 m because of the lower power guns I'm using them. I offered them to fellow FX shooters for trying but people are afraid to use them because some times might be tight fitted... so you are the first one putting some effort to use them. For my case it was no Brainer.. I shoot a lot and casted slugs was the best option for affordable and available ammo.. especially during and after the lockdowns, thus now I use mostly 5.5 cal, my production output is about 1kg/h or approx 2lbr/h
otima carabina meu amigo
Now that's impressive home made shooting there boss! What more can you ask for! 💥💪😱😱😱
FX Panthera comes with heavy slug liner in 600mm and 700mm. The 500mm models have the thin pellet liners. How is this possible???
I don’t know it’s obviously magic
@@precisionrangehunting I do know, I'm passing it on. If you use some kind of light slugz in it, or heavy ones, it will shoot a lot tighter!
I'm enjoying your channel. Great gun. I have several molds like yours and if you turn the mold around in the handles so that the sprue cutting handle is on the same side as you are holding the sprues is much easier to cut.
Bloody genius never even considered that top tip thank you
By all means - persevere! I'll be watching! Expecting my .22/700 Panthera this week and will be exploring slugs. I cast fishing jigs and am curious about doing slugs. Please share more details about your molds and slug casting process! Cheers!
Nice video 👍😉and yep I subscribed 😂
Impressive
Enjoy your videos , anyone that shoots 100 yards plus with air rifle knows its not just point and shoot, so many things have to be taken into account, Making your own slugs makes it that much harder, So fair play to you. Thanks
True and the wind is a killer
i like 100 yard plus shooting , and shoot 23 gr slugs at 695 fps so its not all about high power ,high fps, as you know. @@precisionrangehunting
Accuracy is key speed is a second consideration
It's not a pelletgun
I know that it’s a slug liner, doesn’t stop it shooting pellets 🤷♂️, nothing to say I can’t
🐿🐿💥🐿🐿
Do you still have the Impact mk3 Which do you prefer ?.
Yes I do but the impact is only sub 12flb. But I like the feel of the Panthera as it like my centre fire rifles, but the impact definitely is more tricked out
What brand of optics do you use? Thanks
Sig Tango 4
That was a fun video to watch..
Nice shooting. Good to see those powerful guns can shoot pellets & its not only a slug gun .
Your enthusiasm makes me want to go hunt also. Well done, sir! 😀
Excellent. Can you tell me how much the pressure of the regulator is, and how much is the macro and micro .thanks'
Reg for pellets is set at 130br the micro adjuster is just under 2 and the power wheel at 2
Nice Dog, Very nice rifle, very lucky owner 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Quality.
how many shots at minimum power with jsb 18gr pellet?
I’ve not tried it on minimum power, I know the sweet spot is 880-920fps for jsb pellets and I’m running it at 890fps. But I get 5 mags before I drop to 100bar.
@@precisionrangehunting very good
