Feedback: lower the music volume. Couldn't hear the narrator well.
Thanks for the feedback. I will do that on my upcoming shorts. 😃
WOW…to all of you! My birth year….1962….mom told me about it, my entire life about the Space Needle. 😃 And how wonderful it was.
LOL!
The Bubbleator was a highlight for me as a 10-year-old. Ah, the future never turns out like we think it will.
I was there as a teen and visited 50 years later I remember the elevator on the Space Needle dropped faster then (light on my feet)
Century 21 Texting! These wonderous prediction's are all possible and yet if we told these folks that 60 years in the future the majority of our phones is hand typed telegram length messages punctuated with cartoon smiley faces and various produce they probably wouldn't be too impressed 😅
Those kids grew up & had kids.... and you wonder why people "entitled" attitudes are the way they are today!!! Was once said TV/movies should be a role model for society & standards, look where have ended up.
Those kids are in their 80s now.
I lived in Seattle after this but I remember all the “Technology”
As a ten year old visiting with my family from Vancouver, Canada luckily I did not come across those two teenagers in the video running amok at the fair. 🙂
Seattle center was a fun place to go. Too bad the city decided they didn't want families any more (closed fun center and allowed homeless to take over the city)
And that's how little Suzie got pregnant.
This can't be real. I don't see any homeless people or a police station being taken over.
Have you noticed the guests visiting the World Fair are all "white" people.
looks like only white people were invited.
Sorry, but the New York 1964 Worlds Fair was a lot better. As a ten-year-old kid seeing a picturephone in action at the Bell exhibit was one of the highlights for me.
It wasn’t until the 21st Century that I finally had a videophone on my desk. They worked, just the video portion was not often used. A lot of hype.
Anyone else notice how those two just pushed themselves past everyone else? And those smiles? What the hell were they on?
A filmed documentary. Says so at the beginning.
They appeared to be in love ❤, and high on it.
The future was once possible. Then along came LBJ and MLK to divert tens of trillions to unproductive and dangerous enterprises and away from research into making everyone's life magnitudes greater.
That's the Seattle that four decades of leftism has utterly destroyed🤕
I wish I was there. Well, not that day. Those two entitled youngsters would have spoiled it for me.
First
Thanks for showing this ambitious film. I appreciate it despite how different it is from the thumbnail.
would have much preferred this without the goofy voice-over track
Cor! That inane and utterly needless narration is utterly ruining this.
really fascinating! but the AI generated thimbnail nearly made me not click. i would've preferred to see something that represents the film more authentically.
Umm, I disagree with you. It does feel authentic as it’s not Clickbait. it tells it exactly as it is and isn’t just trying to pull people in. 😅
😮
Saw this in grade 4 in 1964/65
Back in 1962, Ms. Dalby was my sixth grade teacher. She had been one of Dr. Frank Baxter’s students at USC and showed us several of the excellent Bell Science Series films.
I saw this as a kid.
A day on venus is longer than a year on venus?
Yeah
Don't you mean a year on earth?@@damabo80
?
Ohhhhhh
It completes an orbit before it turns around on its axis once
Where is the sound
Byow
Amazing, thanks 😊
You're welcome 😊
I like the part about how comic rays (funny rays) change our DNA, and make us smarter, or dumber, or kill us. Mutate, baby, mutate!
They showed us these science films back when I was in school in the early '60s. We enjoyed them.
Ok, 50 years have passed. Where are we now?
70 years
@@Skukkix2367 years.
That puts us in 2007.
looks and sounds like kolchak
Creepy and old
What i did not know this
@2:40 Aristotle, 360BC: "hearing, tasting, touching, smelling, seeing, 5 senses", me, 2024: "pressure, pheromones, time, memory.. balance? ισορροπία..? και...πώς μιλάς αγγλικά, ρε Αριστοτέλη???" 1958.. when the belief in truth was installed at the cost of common sense..
9:45 Disney stole this setup for "Inside Out."
36:30 "Man and only man" Humans are always bragging about their ability to think and imagine. How can they possibly know the experience of other species? Apes, cetaceans, and probably many other animals surely have the ability to have complex inner experiences.
WTF IS THAT PLANE ON THE PICTURE?
This is very mooooving.

Thanks!
My iphone is dead after this
😂😂😂
The Memphis Bell was taken to Memphis, Tennessee after its final flight and it sat outside for 4 decades. It had to be restored and was put under a roof. Over the years pigeon and other bird droppings corroded it so much that it had to restored again. Now it sits in the Museum of Flight, which is, I believe in or near Dayton Ohio. At first, in 1943, the crews were promised that if they completed 25 missions they could go home. Then the number of missions began to creep up and up until the tour of missions became "for the duration." My dad trained to be a flight engineer who was in charge of fixing things while in flight and to be the top turret gunner. Happily for him and for me, he was badly injured in a training accident that left him with a 25% disability. But the Army Air Corps (the USAF did not exist back then, these were Army planes) was in such dire need of men that when he was released from the hospital he was sent to Langley Field, VA, and retrained to be an ordinance NCO who's job was to know what each plane took off with what kind of bombs, and what they had aboard when they landed. The idea was to prepare the bomb ground crew what kind of bomb trailer (an actual trailer for each of the different kind of bombs) to have ready. In turn, they would rush out and remove the bombs and if necessary, rearm them quickly. Dad was to stay at Langley as part of the Anti Uboat campaign off the eastern coast of the United States. I wrote above that it was happily for him and for me. The only service that lost more men than the bombers was the submarine service. Most men in the Army Air Force either died in combat, had to bail out and be taken prisoner, were wounded badly. The possibly that my dad might have been one to die, like his best friend did, was so great that I would not be here today 80 years after the war. Im 69.
Wonderful story 😊.
Great resto. It now has 5 engines😂
How odd, the title of this while surfing TH-cam says The Memphis Bell, story of a Flying Fortress but the image shows a statofortress B36 with five engines. Science fiction at its worst!
Whatever that thing on the thumbnail is supposed to be it appears to have tractor propellers. It is certainly not a B-36.
@@oml81mm It's not anything real. Looks like a B-29 with 6 engines but the fuselage lines aren't quite right for that either.
The difference is the Wings the b52 has a swept wing the b17 is a straight wing
