Q.1. A PWD division of local Government paid 43,000 cft quantity for the item of
“Dismantling Road pavement” @ Rs. 5,760 per % cft to the contractor out of this
quantity 90% of old material was to be reused as sub base @ Rs. 10,800 % cft whereas
department used 19,000 cft quantity of old material as sub base and remaining quantity
was paid @ Rs. 28,500 % cft as new material of sub base.
Calculate recovery from the contractor due to non use of old material as sub base for
issuance of audit observation on account of cost of old material.
Q.2. A formation of Local Government paid 16,647 cft quantities for the item “Dismantling
cement concrete reinforced.” @ Rs. 16,550.30 per % cft to the contractor. Neither the
old steel was accounted for in the books of the division nor any recovery was made
from the contractor.
Calculate the total cost and quantity of old steel @ Rs. 130 Per kg to be obtained from
dismantling for recovery from the contractor if 3.06 kg steel was used for execution of
one cft quantity of reinforcement
