Sparks.
High-flying eternal sparks of blue
bring everlasting peace to the mind;
restoring the flames of the heart like new.
I see the holy essence of a burning wind
that soothes and heals on impact;
but my joy quickly rescinds
for many downstream do not react;
caught in the artificial smokey light of
floating embers that block out the sun;
drunk off meaningless romance and vanity,
faintly whisper, "I'm okay," then turn to run.
I've been there in times of calamity:
Lost in the ocean vapor of emotion;
where desire is a mirage that beckons us
to drown in its radioactive potion.
But here come eternal sparks of blue,
burning more than the hottest star
which gives its perfect spectral hue.
See how they reveal secrets of
awe within inspiration;
Hope within faith;
Love within salvation;
Joy within suffering;
Purpose within a task.
Amidst the sparks of blue
I look to heaven and ask,
“What more can God's perfection do?”
An empty abandoned ship,
silent and sorrowful,
sits alone on a raging sea;
tossed and blown by the wind,
whoever shall its captain be?
Casting colors into the fog,
a lone blue spark gives an elegant dance
setting the sails brightly ablaze within a glance.
Somehow, by grace alone,
a captain, like the Son of Man,
takes His rightful throne.
Unfazed by the flames,
He takes a firm hold of the helm.
I've never seen a more beautiful sight:
The ship with flaming sails
journeying deep into the blackest night.
Perched on the tallest mast
sits a pure white dove.
Sparks shoot from its mouth,
singing aloud, "He has conquered with His love!"
