In the footsteps of the martyrs | Seminarian Pilgrimage 2024
This month saw 29 Diocese of Lansing seminarians make a pilgrimage to the Martyrs Shrine in Midland, Ontario, in order to seek the heavenly intervention, and inspiration, of the North American Martyrs, those Jesuit missionaries who were killed by natives in the mid-16th century in both Canada and upstate New York. The seminarians were led by Bishop Earl Boyea of Lansing.

You are not supposed to pray to anybody else except the Father through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is our high priest.. he is our mediator, our advocate. Our substitution.. salvation is in him and his finished work on the cross alone.. not the Catholic church and the sacraments.. your good works are as filthy rags... And only when you repent and trust Jesus Christ alone can you go to heaven.

  • @oshea2300

Complete idolatry. This is why Catholics change the commandments. So they can worship their images. The Eucharist is not Jesus Christ. You are taking what is a figure of speech, and making it literal. Catholics twist the scriptures often and mix up what is literal, and take it as figurative, and the other way around. Jesus Christ called himself the door. But he's not a piece of wood with a door knob. He's using a figure of speech. If you go on to read the book of 1st Corinthians in the later chapters.. I believe chapters 10 through 12 somewhere in there.. the apostle Paul goes to talk about how the Lord's supper is an ordinance.. which means it's a ceremony or memorial only. It doesn't save you it's done in remembrance of Jesus Christ and it is a time of self-examination. (the Pauline Epistles are primarily where we get our church doctrine) the gospels are a mix and at a transitional time... If you want church doctrine read Paul's epeisltes. We are saved by grace through faith alone. Not of works. Not baptism. Not belonging to the Catholic Church. Paying indulgences does nothing for your sin. You're not supposed to pray to Mary Or venerate her.. she was not a perpetual virgin the Bible speaks of her children.. (but she was a virgin at the time of Jesus Christ. ) Mary is not your Co mediator. She had sin (she had to bring a sin-offering like everybody else.) If Catholics read their Bible and wanted to know the trutth.. and acknowledged that their priests were lying to them.. thank God could save them and forgive them for believing heresy.

Want to go to heaven? Want a real relationship with the One True God? Trust Jesus Christ! His Life, death, burial, and Resurrection alone. His death on the cross for your sins. He shed his precious blood to atone for your sin! You can't be saved unless you acknowledge that you're a lost sinner.. and that you deserve hell, and that Jesus Christ died for your sins.. he was your substitute. His blood is your payment. If you don't plead guilty, you will have to pay your sins yourself (eternity in Hell) All you have to do is trust in him..( asking him to forgive you and save you) and you can spend eternity in heaven with God. It's personal. You can have His righteousness transferred to your account so you don't have to be judged for your own sins?( instead you get judge based on his righteousness.) Don't trust mary, don't trust your baptism, don't trust your church membership, don't trust your good works/goodness. Salvation is in Jesus Christ alone nothing more. Eternal life is a free gift and Jesus paid it All. Christians are good because we love him, not to earn our way to heaven. There is so much fake christianity, many people who have tried to work their way to heaven as a fake Christian will get cast down to hell because they're trusting in their own good works and not Jesus Christ alone.

Thanks be to God! Bishop Boyea, thank you for walking us through the mass in a way that is brief, full of scripture, church teaching and excellent spirit-led delivery. Mr. Kerr and the Communication team, thank you for your work and service. I pray this series will be available for all OCIA teachers/directors/coordinators to use as they are excellent brief introductions in the formation of catechumens. I pray this is considered. The impact in our diocese and across our country makes me happy. I rejoice as our Lord is glorified in the clarity provided in this series of our Catholic worship. I hope translation in predominant languages across our state and country might happen as part of the continued evangelization for lost souls. The Road to Emmaus continues until Christ returns. Amen. Alleluia. I go now and announce the gospel of our Lord!
