2023 Kastner Cup

The 2023 running of the Kastner Cup all-Triumph (powered) race cars from Road America, Elkhart Lake, WI. Due to a minor issue in grid, we started at the back of the pack and worked through the field. So, absent the top 4 cars, you get to see the entire field!!

2020 HRG Thompson - Spin City

The Historic Race Group ran with NER/SCCA at Thompson, CT in early October 2020. It's an interesting collection of SCCA race cars, mostly all Production class, AP though HP - so former Trans Am Camaros, Corvettes and Triumph Spitfires and everything in between. In any case, there's a few spins and 4-wheels off moments and (unedited) double yellows, but entertaining.
2002 Mid Ohio Triumph

In 2002, SVRA invited the Friends of Triumph to be a feature race at the Mid Ohio Race track. 8 folks from the UK brought cars over and there were cars and drivers from all over the US, some as far away as California. Also present and not shown in the video were a number of significant Triumphs including ADU4B, one of the LeMans Spitfires and on of the TRS Prototype cars that served as the pace...
2020 HRG LimeRock

Historic Racing Group visited the Lime Rock Park circuit in Connecticut in July 2020. The field included about 32 cars and this was the Saturday feature race. We had a nice dice with Bobby Singh in the Orange Porsche 911. This was a tonne of fun.

We ran the season finale with the Historic Racing Group at Thompson Motorsports Park. This is a fun group with a wide variety of vintage race cars. Super fun!

The SCCA Historic Race Group at Thompson, CT in October 2018. This was the second race of the weekend... lots of fun. I caught up to W. Scott Stickle in the Jag and we had a great race for the last few laps. Super fun!

Why go to all this trouble? Too many bends obstructing flow and canceling any advantage from headers. Likely to bang on rear sway bar with every bump. Install a Monza and be done imo
Had a Monza - total junk. I gained around 12 HP to the wheels with this setup and it's quiet. I've been making Triumphs go fast for along time. To quote Kimi Raikonnen: "I know what I'm doing". Also, this setup was less money than a new Monza setup (which was the point of the post in the first place.) The system has never touched the sway bar and I drive this car hard.
It's good to watch someone who knows the line around Lime Rock. That Porsche driving is afraid of Climbing turn. Good drive.

yep. One is an actual Huffaker car annd the other is a Group 44 clone built by a guy who owned a real Group 44 TR8 until about 5 or 6 years ago.

So close, Bob. So close. You had a better line. But twice the displacement is hard to get ahead of. I've chased that particular "cat" a bunch of laps myself. Scott is the best of people! Makes me drool to get my '72 2002tii back in the action. Best wishes!

Hello Bob, I see your video is more than six months old, but as you probably now know the 6-2-1 system is much less effective than the 6-3-1 manifold for the Triumph straight six, really chalk and cheese. Iain
While the 6-3-1 system may be "better" the dyno doesn't lie - the truth is that the secondary pipe length is more important than the primaries. This setup works very well, around 130 Hp to the wheels (9.5:1, GP3 cam and some mild porting with custom needles in the ZS 175's).

@@michaelreilly1310esq r u buying? Bottom line, this system works well and it passes safety inspection where I live. A lot of aftermarket doesn't.

Ummm... lets see. Umm, no more spectators which means none to few new tracks. Poor rule containment which keeps it cost friendly. Sound restrictions up the kazzoo. Oh, and Spec Miata! The NE region has what, two tracks? NH is worse then uptown Manhattan after a very cold winter, and LRP is too expensive. Where are the new tracks that they keep leaking news about? Oh wait, they threw all there money into a holding pattern. The race schools are among the worst of any other clubs......

@spitlist this is a fairly typical NER/SCCA course. It's also the reason I have a really hard time getting my hardcore workers to run events in parking lots. :-)
Bob, that was no autocross! It was more like a Time Trial. I like it. Tiny Tim could reall stretch his legs on a course like that!
