funny, they talk about Ukrainian porch pirates.
Scammers from the Ukraine. Go back to your country and defend it. You probably went to court in the Ukraine saying you were divorced so he could. Scam out of the country.
As a Canadian parent of now grown children and grandchildren, I totally agree with your observations regarding our education system. We are not doing our best by our children the way the system is functioning now. Very sad, as the children will pay the price in the long run.
ultimately it all comes down to parents responsibility after all.. that's how we deal with it, as if we don't have enough of it )))))
@@Kremeniuks Absolutely!
Cell phone and internet is disappointing to Canadians as well.
Kyiv not kiev😊 thanks
There is a LOT of academic responsibility on the parents here. Back in Ukraine I wish they gave us the opportunity to choose whether we want to learn welding and woodworking or…. Cooking and cross stitching….
Great video! I left Ukraine illegally because I had no legal way out. Sadly, people there don’t have rights or democracy and corruption at an insane level. I’m happy to be in Toronto this city and Canada have given me so many new opportunities. Glad to see you happy in Canada too!
The most similar bank in Canada to the Ukrainian “Monobank” is “Neo Financial.” I recommend giving it a try.
Virgin Plus has good plans.
In previous episodes, the sound quality was much better than in this one.
Дуже чітко пам'ятаю ваші історії в ті дні, ще тоді відповідав Каті про те, які категорії чоловіків можуть виїхати. А від вашої історії на кордоні в мене досі іспанський сором за весь той розлючений натовп
I enjoy this podcast and I hope there are more episodes to come. It's so cozy )
Oh wow, I thought Germany's telecommunication infrastructure was bad, but I guess it's quite common! I miss my Ukrainian speed, coverage and prices...
I use Simplii bank. you should look into that bank it i find it works great,
Shop around for a phone and internet plan. We get 1.5/1 gbps (down/up) for $100/mo and 3 unlimited 5G for another $100/mo.
Where are you?
@@Kremeniuks Suburb of Toronto (25 km from downtown)
This has never happened before and here it is again )))))
The reason why phones are so much is due to the fact Canada is so big so we have to pay for so much more infrastructure than a smaller sized country and we don't have the population to spread the costs out to. It is the one bad thing about living in such a big country!
This isn't true. Most of our citizens live within dense population areas, like southern Ontario, where we are as dense as most European countries. It is because of our oligopolistic economy.
Oh, well, there is more after all! I was already thinking that it really ended at the third episode. Glad to see you again. I'm improving my English with the help of your podcasts, and special thanks to your wife - her grammar is truly excellent!
Thank for video. I live in Toronto about 2 months but now i'm in USA. Today I'm finding this video. I watch your TH-cam channel before war and now continue for improve my English)
As Semyon said, "podcasts usually don't survive past three episodes."
I see what you did there!!! But we’ll be back
Why, a Man with 3 children better than a father with 2 children or a 1. Why closed country, same as North Korea, called democracy. Why a man that had rights to leave Ukraine and left it called Patriot and a man that can't leave and Wife decides to stay with 2 kids in Ukraine with him and protect him from subscription (actually just stilling men from streets when they go to work or playing with his children on playground) called "The dodger". Every citizen of Ukraine should have right to leave. Stop segregate people and says that someone better than another.
I agree with you
Thank you once again for another great podcast. Very educational and enlightening! I look forward to the next one. Blessings to you and your family.
Great video
Just a small note: My friends who had apartments in Donetsk and left in 2014 could not eventually go back and forth, because their flats were confiscated by local proxy authorities. So it was a bit of too much generalizing saying that it was peaceful and safe. It was not. I appreciated the correction from the male host who pointed that out. That being said, I love your podcast, and I almost cried myself when you shared your experience. Needless to say I'm a subscriber now
I had goose bumps when you started talking about first days it was really scary for us, thx God you are in Canada now
Podcast Survival: The hosts humorously note that most podcasts do not survive past three episodes, celebrating reaching this milestone (00:00). Sensitive Topic: They discuss the sensitive issue of Ukrainian men leaving Ukraine during the war, highlighting the judgment they face from others who don't understand their circumstances (00:39). Personal Experiences: The host shares their personal experience of leaving Ukraine amidst the war, emphasizing the emotional toll and societal pressure faced by men of fighting age (01:57). Legal Reasons for Leaving: They explain the official reasons some men can leave Ukraine, including family obligations and medical conditions, which are often overlooked by critics (44:29). Judgment and Understanding: The episode concludes with a call for greater empathy, urging listeners to recognize the complexities behind why some men are outside Ukraine and the challenges they face (58:08).

In one of Putin's insane "essays" before the invasion, he likened Ukraine to Russia as the same as Canada to USA and Austria to Germany.
yeah... i don't like that
Idk if you will feel like doing a video on the topic, but how are you guys ( or perhaps Ukranian newcomers in general) getting along with the local Russian community. Back in my high school and uni days there was A LOOOOT of Russian kids in my classes. Is there a lot of tension between the two communities or are things mostly cordial?
good idea, we'll think about it. thanks
@@Kremeniuks yeah that would be awesome. Out here in western provinces, there is big community presence of both groups. There is a Russian Orthodox Church like 2 mins away from my house and a Ukranian one 10 mins away. So, it would be really interesting to peek the deets of intergroup relations)
Thanks guys for another episode of an awesome podcast. I've heard so many stories already, all of them horrific and unique (about the early days of the war). I'm glad you made it eventualy.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience publicly. As a german citizen I am pleased to see that there are countries that have a way better system at place and can truly offer a better perspective to the ukranian people. Thumbs up.
I usually say I’m originally from Ukraine. It’s weird I don’t feel Canadian here and I don’t feel Ukrainian in Ukraine:) but especially it was hard to explain when I lived in a third country for a bit😂 oh the struggles of an immigrant:)))) Awesome podcast guys!! just wanted to share my experience with you. Don’t feel like you have to prove anyone anything. Be proud of your background. Canada is lucky to have you guys❤️❤️❤️ People who come here and love Canada and want to integrate and want to contribute and want to raise their children with Canadian values are ideal. Doesn’t happen all the time unfortunately:)
Welcome to Canada! As multi-generational Canadian, I would say I certainly have no concerns about Ukrainians job stealing or getting special benefits. We are just glad that you found safety from the war. I grew up in Saskatchewan and there was large Ukrainian diaspora. Our neighbors cooked perogies for us on holidays. Here I would say you are assumed to be Canadian born and only questioned if you speak with a thick accent. If expected to be from elsewhere, others should ask whether you are an immigrant rather than where you are from. Then ask which country you immigrated from. Your wife seems to have good handle on things. I should think you would answer you are immigrants from Ukraine until you get citizenship and then answer you are Canadian but originally from Ukraine. All the best in your future here.
Welcome to Canada, I am part Ukrainian on my moms side my baba came from Ukraine as a small child and I call my aunts chuchee I don’t know the true spellings. It’s hard here to get by on the cost of living but I’d rather be here than anywhere else. Tomorrow I have a doctors appointment and if in the near future I have bad news I may go to Ukraine to help if able.
I am very much enjoying your podcasts! Thank you for sharing your view points and so much interesting information. Looking forward to many more! Welcome to your new home. You are so very welcome!
You are correct. As parents we do not feel responsible for providing housing. We may help with a down payment but certainly not the full price
Thanks for this awesome podcast guys!👍, I'm personally, as ukrainian immigrant, can tell my PoV on why in Ukraine no one tells you about 4-6 month saving, cause people are financially not educated in general. And this kind of staff need to be teached in school at least(basic financial education).
This is very informative. Thank you. Hopefully, certain people will view things differently now
in Canada, if you do not pay your property taxes, the local government has the authority to sell your property to recover the unpaid taxes
nice! so you indeed NEVER truly own anything, eh?
Ok this is disturbing now
But such taxes are good to keep dynamics of economy. Otherwise, people could become property hoarders. Also, surrounding areas usually need some spendings from taxes (roads, ecology, firefighters etc.).
Also, it some cases your property in Ukraine also can be confiscated to cover costs of fines.

What a phenomenal job she did on your tattoo. I love sentimental tattoos!
What do you guys think about savings rate for normal Canadians and Americans? I think people from Ukraine probably live modestly compared to Americans. I save aggressively for retirement and a home. Something like 30% of my income. Typical Americans are somewhere around 3-5% if anything! What do Ukrainians do? Great video!!

О, нашел! Рад, что все у вас получается. Всех благ!
Over time, home values always go up. Over time, your income rises, while mortgage payment stays the same over the term (so a mortgage grows less painful over time). I bought my 1st house for $40,000 in 1984. Today that same house can be sold for over $400,000. Growth of home home equity is a winning strategy. As the saying goes: "Buy land, they don't make it anymore." Accelerate your mortgage payments as much as you can. The sooner you are mortgage free, the better.
Oh my, I keep saying we need to pay it off asap:)
