SEVR Titanium 2.0 & Rage Hypodermic NC 2” quick comparison
A quick rundown of the SEVR Titanium 2.0 & Rage Hypodermic NC 2”.
I like them both as a mechanical broadhead but the SEVR comes out on top for me because of how tough they are.

Why the V Series Whisker Biscuit from Trophy Ridge is way better
มุมมอง 22K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I have both the whisker biscuit rests from Trophy Ridge & here are the differences. The new V Series rests are awesome. A simple rest made even better & is quickly becoming one of my favorites. #trophyridge #whiskerbiscuit #whiskerbiscuitvseries #beararchery

2022 Resurgence LD Bear Archery (Setup, adjustments, first impressions & first shots)
มุมมอง 9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
My first impressions on the new 2022 Bear Archery Resurgence LD. I’ll set the bow up, adjust draw length, go over fit, finish & value for all of us long draw guys. #beararchery
I just wish the blades didn’t pivot
@@appalachianpursuit2924 I haven’t noticed any negative results by them pivoting. Broadhead like the new Beast are also pivoting with great results.
I disagree if you shoot heavier arrows. My arrow is 585gn and the new V-Con biscuit couldn’t handle it. It sunk down during draw every single time. Also, biscuit are a bit noisy and to eliminate that I use a tiny piece of mole skin. That is impossible with the new V design.
I have this bow. The cables drag on the lower cam no matter what you do. The bottom cam doesn't sit straight on any of them I have looked at. I'm watching this video again to readjust the bow to play around with for fingers. Even though I'm burning through the cable it's still fun to play with until the cable is toast
Did you take it on the elk hunt? I bought the same bow so I’m curious
I didn’t end up taking it on my elk hunt this year. I ended up taking my PSE Fortis 33.
@@bigtineproductions5605 after two years do you think the resurgence ld is still a good buy?
Yes if you are okay with slower speeds. It’s not that fast & shooting out past 50 yards with a heavy arrow would be the biggest downside. Draw cycle, price & the way it holds makes it still a good buy IMO.
The sevr suck. They dont deploy on opening. Hit a double lung quarter away shot. Arrow stuck in opposite shoulder. Deer ran 140 yards. Only blood came out nose. Worst blood trail ive ever seen.
Can you adjust the Bear Alaskan the same way? The draw that is.
The Bear Alaskan has different cams but does have similar rotating modules.
I've shot both...going back to the "old style" original Whisper rest for hunting... it works-simple as that...
One would think the bristles would wear out quicker on the v series. Can you replace the bristles?
They have held up quite well & yes they are replaceable.
I shoot the Rage hypodermic out of my mathews v3x 29. And I have no problems
I just got a bear Resurgence “RTH package” and it’s pretty daggum fast.. 315fps.. I got it from an auction house.. brand new for $275.. I couldn’t pass it up because it’s $600 online
I picked one up and I love it. I have a 32 inch draw and it works great.
That’s awesome, glad you’re liking it!!!
Shoot a 600g plus’s arrow! I shoot 650 @ 32’
Trust me, you will love the SEVRs! You forgot to chat about using the same head as a practice head when you lock the blades into place ie, set screw. Also, they come in different weights up to 150 grains. Never shot the other but I've blasted turkey, deer and working on a elk with the 1.5 head for better penetration!!!! Good luck
Love this head so far!!! Shot a doe with one & preformed flawlessly. No damage to the head, cleaned it off & now it’s ready for the next!!!
John Lusk has done actual test comparisons of these two broadheads. The Sevr is far more durable.
interesting!! i have a conventional whisker biscuit on my bow and i have taken thousands of shots with it.. extremely reliable. My next arrow rest will be a v rest for sure!!
Using the sevr Robusto’s out of my crossbow this year. Great quality heads.
I've been using QAD drop aways for years but for an upcoming cape buffalo hunt, I thought I'd try this model. I was excited to try it out and my bow shop got it mounted and ready. I went to shoot it, inserted one of my arrows, and the arrow sank down into the fibers. My arrows are apparently too heavy for it, so I returned it. Granted, my normal arrows are 650 grains, so they are heavier than the average arrow that most people shoot, but my buff arrows will be 950 grains once we get them built. The rest looks great and will probably work great with the lighter arrows, but for the heavier arrows, it may not work as it did my case, just something to consider. I would have done a demo video to show what was happening but I returned it as soon as I found the issue and bought another QAD. Great video, well done.
This happened to me with my arrows which were only 500gr. Still heavier than the “standard” 400-450 but the whiskers are clearly too soft for any arrow over that weight. Shame because I really like the original biscuit and it holds up whatever you put in it.
I loved the species LD at 32in draw with 300 spine Victory VAPs it shot soo well
Thanks. Helpful. Happy hunting
Great video have you had any issues with the serving separating
Nothing major yet. Strings have held up quite well!
When you shimmed the cam to get rid of the string rub on it, which way did you shim it?
what is main difference in this bow and the species ev??
Longer draw out to 32”, longer ATA & a little slower with the Resurgence LD. If you don’t need a longer draw & want a little more speed I would probably go with the the Species EV.
The V-series is not good for heavy arrows...I tried it on one of my bows, (All my bows have the Biscuit), but heavy arrows don't stay seated properly...The Biscuit may have just a little more friction but it's better for maintaining stability and the most you'll lose in speed from a drop away is maybe 2 fps...Just saying...
My friend. I love your review. You should do more! Great that you came back after a month or so too to verify. There’s literally no Resurgence LD videos. You filled a gap in the TH-cam universe. Congrats. I just bought the Resurgence LD due to desired price point, need for longer draw length and appreciation for smooth single cams. Speed is a misnomer. I’m primarily a whitetail hunter and 260fps (with 450 grain arrow setup) is plenty fast at 10-25 yards. ALSO, I have an early ‘90s PSE USA Spirit. Has exact same thud as your old PSE! “Draw cycle is silly smooth..” Man I’m cracking up. I love my old PSE too! Still so accurate. Seriously, do more reviews. And make sure you always compare everything to your old PSE!
Love it man, glad you liked the video. LOL, I still crack myself up when I shoot that old PSE!!! I have a new to me single cam Xpedition that I’m going to do a review on here soon so I’ll have some more comparisons thrown in the mix.
Heavy arrows like the FMJ slip through the bristles and after one year the inner screw broke when I was adjusting it. I personally have not had a good experience with this arrow rest.
I’ll agree with you that some of the thinner diameter arrows could have issues overtime. Did you contact Trophy Ridge about your issue? They are very quick to deal with any issues I have had on any of there products.
@@bigtineproductions5605 Thank you for your answer. I am German and am referred to my dealer who does not accept warranty claims after one year. A friend of mine's H5 visor also broke a load-bearing connector. Personally, I no longer have a good feeling about this brand.
I wish. Maybe one day.
I think, i will buy this rest
YUP,. Me too,.. it's going to Be, a V-Max for, my New Bow with, small Dia / Lighter, Arrows !
Hey, I liked the video. I'm getting then Trophy Ridge Whisker Biscuit V Max Arrow Rest. Like thinking behind this. Drop away rest in hunting situation not for me. Good for those that prefer them. Good to have options.
Thanks man, I’m still enjoying this series of rests without any failures whatsoever!!!
The IBO and real speed are very near. Good test.
Thank you, I thought so also. Great bow that I still enjoy shooting!
@@bigtineproductions5605 I really like one cam, no-speed -daemon bows. I draw 30.5" here no "slow" bow. I have an 2011 pse stinger Hp that s perfect for me. That Resurgence Ld looked really friendly shootable quiet hunting bow.
I can tell you are a green horn. Congratulations. I wanted you to know you can go elk every year if you wanted to. I’m a southern boy 26 year in a row. Leave the house with $1500. And my brother It really don’t cost that must. Enjoyed your video
Lol, green horn. Yes for sure!!! Definitely different than sitting in a stand hunting whitetails!!! Thanks
I think you have more like a 30” draw, that bow looks super long on you.
I might sound crazy but I just replaced my QAD with a v con . A well built WB rest like this does perform the same as a high end drop away rest . I got my v con tuned and have no problem hitting 6" group 80yards down range . I think it doesnt really matter if the arrow make contact to the rest , as long as the contact is consistant , that way the arrows will fly the same .
I agree & have had very good results with the V series!
I’m also considering getting away from the drop away an the vmax!
Good review, i have a drop away on my Vertix, im getting a lighter bow and will put one of these WB rests on it. keeping this bow simple, screw those negative comments!
That looks like it would be a great turkey bow. Smooth draw from the single cam and big wheel pulley for a stealthy draw. Not too hot to prevent full pass through and pin the bird down. You could probably even back off the poundage a bit to make waiting for those fidgety gobblers to give you a good shot. Not a bad working rig for the price. Good ol Bear making those working man bows. I have my eye on the Whitetail Legend RTH, same idea with single cam, but shorter ATA for my shorter draw length self. Have fun this season. 🦃🦌🦃🦌
Thanks, for the comment!!! I never gave this much thought as a dedicated turkey bow but it would be perfect!!!
How much is the V Max ???
V Max retail price is 79.99 I believe.
Hey man not trying to critique your shooting but that draw length at 29 inches looks long for you. Your Anchor Point looks way behind your ear instead of at the back of your jaw bone. You may want to watch some professional videos on correct anchor points. And again not critiquing " just saying." Love the bow- I have the Resurgence but not the LD. Keep on shooting man archery is a great hobby..Peace 😎
Thanks for the vid. Picked this up for my first compound. Couldn’t be happier
Awesome quick review! Exactly what I wanted to see! Thx!
Good comparison the biscuit has been out for a long time the v max line, nope and as far as these guys saying should buy a drop away well not everybody can go drop 80,90,100 and something plus on a sight and besides you get get only a couple feet per second faster out of a drop away versus a biscuit. So keep on keeping on, good video thanks.
Stop punching that trigger!!!!! Release is not properly adjusted for you.
Have you had any problems with your bottom left fletching hitting the frame of the v rest? I'm having this issue and cannot figure out what is causing it.
Have you shot it through paper yet? It sounds like something is very off to be hitting like that.
@@bigtineproductions5605 i did at 10yds and is good. Its a bear species ev rth package I purchased back in November. I swapped out the original rest with the v max rest. I thought adding the ability to adjust the rest up and down would help but didnt make a difference.
@big tine, I have no idea why people are throwing you shade for doing a quick little comparison. I appreciate the video because I bought a older style limb driven drop away and it seems to be malfunctioning, so I've been thinking about replacing it but the drop away I'm looking at is over 100 bucks and I'm just beginning archery. I don't want to knock fletchings off so I've kind of thought whisker biscuits wouldn't be an option but this very well may be an option for me, so I appreciate the information.
Thank you Andrew, great rest for sure & I really don’t think you can go wrong with one. Also Trophy Ridge has been great in the customer service department if you should need extra parts, screws & ect!!!
You guys are trolls. Good review. Thank you for highlighting the real world difference from one model to another.
Thank you Derrick
I can’t believe someone actually made a review about a whisker biscuit lmao
Why? Not everyone can afford these drop away rests but are still trying to build the best bow for their budget. This is information someone may use to better get into the sport of archery or hunting. Why hate on free information regardless of it applies to you or not?
@@karowhack2 if your gonna spend the money to buy a bow, get a decent product and get a drop away.
Thanks for watching I shoot them all. Whisker biscuit original & the V work really well for my kids!
Drop aways suck for spot and stalk and offer NO advantage over a biscuit. I only shoot biscuits on both of my Hoyt bows and on my Mathews, it's not a price tag thing for me, it's about using a fail proof rest that I don't have to glance down at before I draw.
@@Hogheadsforbreakfast better accuracy, increased longevity of arrows.
Does a review but does not have a clue what he is talking about........
When you shimmed the bottom because of the string noise you could hear. What kind of shimming did you do? Mine does the same thing.
I started slowly shimming it over & ended up moving majority of the stack over except one large shim. Hope this helps, not super high tech stuff going on to mess it up. Lol
I think the reason why it doesn’t hold as steady as some of your other bows is because it is so light you can always add more weight to steady it up
I just got back from shooting this bow the place I went I think the price was a little high but as far as the bow is concerned I could tell it wasn’t the fastest bow out there but I’ve shot bows double the price that wasn’t as good. GREAT JOB BEAR
I bought one after your initial review. Great shooter. Do you have any string noise? Mine makes a noticeable "twang" when shot. Any suggestions on how to silence? Thanks for the reviews
Look at your draw stop if it’s not lightly touching the string it will twang a little just adjust it to where it’s barely touching it should help the noise and vibration out
Check your draw stop & make sure it’s tight. Also check everything else to make sure it’s tight. Also check bottom cam lean to make sure the string is not coming in contact with the cam at full draw. Lastly I would check to make sure your string stop has 1/8” or so of clearance. I’ve tried other string stops & they all sound the same so factory works just fine. Hope this helps
Looks like a real smooth bow. I can remember when a bow hit 300fps was smoking fast and field freezers just fine. I’ve got a Mathews vxr and it’s a great bow but like you I miss the simplicity of the single cams and I might just have to pick 1 of these up
Yes! For the money you just can’t beat it. It is very smooth all the way back & super easy to let down if needed.
Patients paid off for me this time I picked up a 45-60 bear bear resurgence ld for 274$ hope to get it set up next week
