My Dad was born in Fochabers and I recall going there for my holidays back in the day. Iam 64 now and I remember going there from the age of 5 upwards. Great memories. Was it the Stag hotel I remember? And the little cafe on the corner? I use to love Fochabers, Elgin,The Spey, forests,Lossiemouth, my uncles old oxford/Cambridge motorcar he use to pick us up from Keith the railway station. Ah what memories.

Hi--thanks for sharing this. Especially the house by the Spey. My great-grand-parents and their children lived here. An O/S 1870 map names the location "Mills of Garmouth." An O/S 1977 map says "Ross House." The location has a history of fires and flooding. My research describes the location: Meal mill and mill croft - 1848. Flour mill. Woolen manufactory, weaving house, warehouse (fire 1861). Farm steading - Queenshaugh (fire 1900). Then rebuilt again. I was in the house once in the 1990s.

Your latest video from the mouth of the spey to Fochabers bridge is great , i fish the bottom half and its not untill you see it from the air that you realise just how much the river has changed in a few years .That house just above the viaduct was 6 feet away from the bank last year now its just a few spates away from falling into the river .What type of drone do you use Mavic , Inspire ect ? any how thanks a lot for doing this ive sent to my pals who fish the bottom half and im sure they will love it.
